Sheffield Vs Rye 30th July Pl

Can't have a guest for Andre Charlieboy. With Brady in for Simon the only choices are Andre, RR, or redeclare. -
Sheffield Vs Redcar 02-04-15 Lc

Yup. Andre's silencer fell off on lap 2 and as a result his bike was illegal. Definite exclusion. Good job really. A Sheffield 4-2 in that race would have allowed Bjerre to take a tactical in the next race which he won! -
Has Machin Changed His Mind?

Not really mind boggling Neil was retained as promoter as part of the hand over and it also made sense to ensure that Sheffield's interests could be supported by a vote at the BSPA conference. (You must have attended 2 AGMs to be eligible for a vote) A club can only have three licensed promoters which is why Damien and Peter ( who wanted to be promoters) are named as such and I am not. The shareholding is equal. -

This implies a premeditated plan and this was not the case. Having invested a significant amount of money to purchase the club from Neil, the consortium have reluctantly made the very difficult decision for business reasons . The club statement says all that is going to be said on the matter. As someone who has worked with David for several years inside and outside of Speedway I wish him well. He is too important to the BSPA for him not to pop up somewhere very soon. -

Ricky Ashworth told me that the trick is tinted goggles with a strip of tape across the top. I suppose it's a bit like the old 70s sun visors. Maybe they should get some with Riders names on like the old Flyer Wyer ones. Incidentally when Kozza crashed last year he was wearing tinted goggles. Sheffield is not the only track it affects and part if the reason why it happens is the removal of a section of the stand on the fourth Bend where the new pits were created. -

Funny. Don't remember Joe being team manager at Glasgow. -

There's not a blanket problem with Aussies , it's just that if anyone let's their tier 2 visa expire when they're out of the country , they have to wait 12 months for another one. More about communication and misunderstanding between clubs and riders than the authorities -

Hi TM. I don't think this has been forgotten about. At the Ricky meeting at Berwick at the end of September, Hoggy said that the Berwick one was done first as it was felt that there was more chance of a bigger pay day for Ricky on a Saturday night in Berwick rather than a Thursday in Sheffield as it allowed our fans to travel up, as many of us did. The implication was that something would be done at Sheffield at some point. With the uncertainty about the promotion since the year end, there couldn't have been any announcements about a meeting for Ricky. Hopefully, as you say, once the team and the air fence and everything else that needs sorting is done, it will be back on the agenda. -

Doubling Up - Should It Be Allowed?
Sparky from Sheffield replied to iand's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Doubling up has to be allowed. There are too many teams, not enough riders and not enough fans to get rid of it. -

All sounds positive news if the Eagles move in - Upgraded changing rooms, 1200 seater stand. One thing though - the pitch will need a tad more than a bit of weeding - they'll need a few skips to remove the dog muck! Can't imagine the Eagles being happy playing on that every week! -

The Accounts of Class Trend are next to useless when it comes to valuing the business. Firstly they are not full accounts, secondly the rider assets are not shown and thirdly there is no way of telling the Director's Emoluments. AND they are two seasons out of date!! Don't even try!! -

Shadders' connections were right. Looked very quick and was popping wheelies - typical Jason. Then seen in the bar back on his crutches! -
Paul toured round a few tracks plying his trade in the late 70s/early 80s. He certainly came to Sheffield. He was also the start marshall at the two day world final in Amsterdam in 87. I have photos of him I took then in his pink flared suit and flat cap. A true character and a real athlete with the flag. How DID he jump so high?
