  1. His wife died recently...and I am positive dear old Jack passed on about 5 years ago..met him a couple of tims with Bill street, John Scott and Trevor Redmond...that was some lunch !!!
  2. I think you will find that Jack geran died a few years ago.
  3. I agree that maybe as a sponsor i should not have publicly made my feelings clear. I have apologised to Eastbourne about this and agree that as a sponsor my attitude should be neutral.
  4. Believe me one individual was offered 3 team places in the Prem...turned them all down...then suddenly schlepps up in what is after all in a Junior League...Now I don't want to cast any aspertions but what would you think was behind his decision ??..I leave that answer to greater minds than mine.
  5. Please believe me that everyone involved wth the Leagues throughout Speedway is steaming about this....a short term gain, but believe me it will rebound big time. Not the most sensible decision ever made.
  6. The matter is now under discussion, and it would not be sensible to get involved in this at the present time
  7. Anyone any (possible) idea how many they are expecting for the opening meeting ??
  8. Very sadly no we have missed teh chance to do this as many had been pre-ordered But although that is a disappointment my desire to help the youngsters and teh junior clubs is really what's behind this. This is my last year as Boss/Owner of Travel Plus, and it was my way of saying "Thanks" I am going to enjoy my Mildenhall days, and meeting the fans/team and officials last week was a delight. Maybe I am also fed up of dealing with "ego's"...but more that I am looking foward to enjoying my racing Thanks again james
  9. I am getting slightly concerned....the latter of teh 2 statements I absolutely agree with....am I feeling ill ?????
  10. You may be interested to know that we suffer from the same problem. We actually make less than £10 a room on the prices we are quoted. The Marriott (which we have used for 5 years) want £250 a night from us...others are similar....simply becoming a pointless exercise..we are asked to pay in full, up front...we said Thanks but no. Even teh cheap 2 star hotels are asking stupid prices...and I think for 2017 we simply will not bother anymore. At least Dick Turpin was honest enough to wear a mask when robbing you !!
  11. Has anyone any idea of the 2016 fixtures in Germany please ?? Anything either Bundesliga fixtures, open meetings, Long track please ?
  12. Your posts are numerous in the extreme, and i live in patient yearning that one day something positive will come from the ether.....but a long long wait awaits me thinks. But amongst the bitter dross occassionally comes some well judged reasoned opinion Having dealt with our Russian friends in years past, and even now sometimes to ice events, you ain't far wrong brother in this assessment. There are stories how one organisation simply daren't leave the stadium at anytime as they feared all Tv equipment would go walkies, along with just about anything that wasn't nailed down and guarded by some of the biggest Gorillas you could imagine. I am not privy to teh reasons why BSI never went to Russia, but I have a fair idea.....and in my book your words are sound and have more than ample pearls of wisdom. It can be a very dangerous, intimidating, complicated, myserious place to visit.....and if I ever upset them (again) I will not take tea with them !
  13. I am not a Travel agent..but your frequently expressed opinions are wide of the mark. In fact statistics from the past 18 months show an increasing move back to the (licensed Travel agents)...This has nothing to do with using the net, but more of people being caught out by on-line operators who are not licensed, and run from outside of the Uk, often with clients losing vast sums of money and not getting what they paid for. We have 2 cases now pending in the courts against individuals running unlicensed Tours...it is a criminal offence to do this and believe me those who run UK licensing do not take kindly to such cases.
  14. Years ago when I ran the USA team we agreed to a 3 match Test Series.....my guys were not cheap, but the PZM agreed...but could not do a deal with the Polish riders. However I am hearing the usual high/rediculous signing on/points fees...but at the end of teh day how many acdtually get the money initially agreed...few I understand....
  15. I am given to understand that the main fixtures will be out Thursday afternoon.
  16. Earlier thsi year we spent an afternoon watching an open meeting at Poznan. Based in huge park lands its an old track and a stadium from the 1930's which last saw racing a few years back Huge track...which leads to great speeds but little passing. But the promoter is genuine and hard working and teh improved seating is well suited to say 6,000...but quite how many will travel from Wroclaw is open to debate. We had a great welcome, and hopefully they will get decent crowds
  17. Sadly, very sadly i hear that "Mum Witch"..dear Ruby Woods has passed away aged 94. She was so much part of the whole Foxhall Team and close knit family Truly a lovely lady, who was universally known and loved by all supporters and riders. Yet another of the names and personalities so associated with the great years of the Witches Sad news but so many wonderful memories. James
  18. Mr Woffinen has NO problems with a visa. One of his back up team has delayed in applying
  19. Well we liked the look of this...plans are already well advanced and we will be taking a Tour their...gonna be a bit Monkey Brassed.
  20. That has no bearing on the severity of Darcy's injury. My opinion is that the bikes are simply too quick, everyone is riding right on ...not near...ON the limit. There is no room for error. These days with the high revving engines..even a relatively competant Prem league mid runner can beat the best. There is little call or need for throttle control, or even the ability to ride tracks on differing quality. Huge..HUGE sums are spent on tuning these engines.....they need to be governed...already Elite League racing is as boring as Formula 1.....we are losing teh "Entertainment Value" in an effort to retain teh "Super Enthusiast" rather than attract the many thousands who have been lost to teh sport. I can easily recall Foxhall track record mid 1970's of about 69 seconds...today it is under 60 seconds. 10 seconds a race quicker....is the racing better ..absolutely not. Initially do away with "times"..pointless and old hat, only drooled over by the "old timers"...
  21. I would totally agree with Mr Rising about his statement
  22. Yep was there last week.....amazed at the quality of the amazing water front life...loads of bars, pubs, restaurants, cafe entertainment, boat cruises....an entirely different ambiance from Cardiff
