  1. The Swindon Supporters Club are holding a Quiz Night at the Jovial Monk on Thursday 8th December with an 8pm start time; this is general knowledge, not just speedway, so there should be something for everybody. Teams of a maximum of four are welcome to enter at a charge of £2.50 per person. The main aim is to have fun and raise some money for the team - as always, all proceeds will go to the Rider’s Equipment Fund. Our special guest will be Mike Bowden and he will be holding a Q&A session during the interval, so if you have any questions you want to ask, now is your chance! We hope that many of you will join us, and don’t worry if you don’t have a full team, just come along and we will put teams together

This will be followed by a Quiz Night which will start at 8pm. We are hoping to have a special guest join us for the evening and will announce when it has been finalised. Entrance to the Quiz is £2.50 per person with a maximum team of four, if you would just like to come along for the AGM then you would be very welcome. For more details email pitcrew@swindonrobins.co or ring 07846 757000.
  5. I don't know why there wasn't a proper victory parade - guessing that it was because it was so late, but Rosco, PK, Nathan, Nick & Simon came over to see the Robins fans that were on the first-second bend after the meeting to thank us for coming & pose for a few photos. It was much appreciated by the many Robins fans that were still there. Great victory on a very poor track, such a shame as set up is so good there & great viewing but all that is really important is the 4 points. Can't wait until tomorrow - bring on the Bees!
  6. In form Dakota North and our newest heat leader Simon Gustafsson will be joining us for a Meet the Rider night at 7.30pm at the Jovial Monk this Wednesday. This will be your chance to grill the boys on their moves to Swindon and ask any questions you have always wanted to know. We are hoping that one of them will bring along a bike to give us a chance to talk through set ups and a few of the bike basics. Our Host is Richard Crowley who will be over-seeing the evening and asking the questions. Entry is available on the door - £3.00 for Supporters club members or £4.00 for others - all monies raised will go towards our Riders Equipment Fund. All welcome
  7. Well I thoroughly enjoyed my trip to Leicester & I am sure the other Robins fans that went did too (there was a few of us). Big thanks to the very helpful fans & bar staff who were good natured in defeat & helped us with our journey back to the train station when the 50000 Kasabian fans in Leicester also wanted to book a taxi at the same time!
  8. Looking forward to Monday evening, sounds like there will be a huge number of Robins fans heading down to the South Coast, would never underestimate the Pirates as THJ & Magic capable of cutting it with the top GP stars as we all know, but fairly confident that our boys can avoid last places, keeping scores on the night close and booking our place in the Grand Final. I lost my voice cheering on the boys to victory last monday, hope to be in the same position come tuesday morning. Come on you Robins!!!
  9. Final reminder about our Supporters club event with Troy Batchelor tomorrow evening, starting at 8pm at the Jovial Monk in St Andrew's Ridge. Unfortunately with the postponement of the meeting last night we still have quite a few unsold tickets and they are now going to be made available on the door, so please feel free to come along and join us and pay when you enter. Tickets £3 (members £2.50) - as always, all proceeds to our Rider's Equipment Fund.
  10. The Swindon Speedway Supporters Club are holding a quiz night on Tuesday, February 12 in the Lounge Bar at the Moonrakers, Cricklade Road, Swindon starting at 8.00pm. This will be general knowledge, not just speedway, so there will be something for everyone. Teams of a maximum of 4 are invited to enter at a price of £2.50 per person. As always, all proceeds will go to the Rider's Equipment Fund. All are welcome. For more information email pitcrew@swindonrobins.co or PM me via here.
  11. Wishing Simon all the best with his new club. Very disappointed that he is not coming back but I am sure another club will snap him up very soon. Heat 1 away at Poole in the final will live long in the memory, he was a hero for us that night and that wont be forgotten, he will always get a warm welcome at the Abbey.
  12. Morris confirmed for Robins (& as an asset too!) :-)
  13. Ok, thanks, felt the same about others conclusions which is why I put my second post. I was initially disappointed that he didn't turn up, that was all. Great to have Nick back, so much talent and he is only going to get better and better, fantastic that he is signed as an asset too. Great start to team building. Hans & Steady next please.
  14. Now Gary, I don't think anyone would question your commitment & no one else has mentioned you not being there so guess they feel the same. Rosco did apologise on your behalf too. I'm not sure why you quoted me there? As my only comment about Troy was that it was a shame that he didn't turn up & then gave the reason given.
