anyone out there know what happened to "FAST" EDDIE ARGALL the former bradford and newcastle rider...i have a good friend who is a former track photographer who would like to get in touch with eddie....

can someone correct me if im wrong....but here goes....if my memory serves me right joe owen dropped only 3 pts. in 1 season at newcastle.....chris turner of edinburgh beat him.....geoff pusey middlesbro beat him but cant remember the other rider ( barry thomas ?)...thats some record and dont think it will ever be beaten.....perhaps someone reading this could contact joe and ask him....takes some believing but im sure im right..

ODSAL BRADFORD make this into the mecca of speedway its got facilities in now as a rugby team are using it ( bulls ?? ) how much would it cost to update toilets, seating, car park, racing track ?? i dont think we are talking megamoney...its pretty central for airports,,motorway links etc. it might not be everyones cup of tea...but it would almost be a neutral track as regards cup finals p.l.r.c. e.l.r.c. etc. my last visit there was back in 1990 for the world final....think this would be an ideal venue for big meetings and might settle the arguments about home track advantage etc..i.e. sheffield...workington etc..

graham stapleton n.z....remember 1 night when andy graham tried to move him over coming out of the 2nd. bend at brough park...he bounced off graham and injured his shoulder.....graham just carried on with the race....never even looked around.....he was very cool under pressure...lost count the number of 5/1s he and tom owen scored...

remember years back late 70s. early 80s. andy smith (g.b.) and a young aussie called robbie foy used to race each other in the second halves...they raced hell for leather and occasionally had a coming together !! andy moved on to belle vue and robbie made it into the newcastle reserve spot...sadly he drifted away and often wonder what ever happened to him...always thought he would make the grade but it wasnt to be....
