Hey Gustix...Grasstracking.....
-
Hi Vince, not at all. It has lots of times and days of the week it can run. You maybe thinking of Central Park, home of the Kings. They are VERY restricted. 6.30-8.30pm on Mondays only (part from bank holidays)

The best thing for Iwade, for the moment, to for everyone to think of it for what it is, a training track. Look at Denmark and Poland, for example. Young riders can ride most days of the week. What's the biggest problem for young lads in the UK, lack of track time. What's available for track time? Answer - Iwade Where can you find a track that can run for a lot of days during the week and at least one day every weekend? Answer - Iwade. I fully appreciate the costs of training, and it's probably why a lot of riders don't practice anymore but if riders want to practice, check equipment etc then british speedway has the perfect place to do so. Answer - Iwade. It's not rocket science everyone. The south east has the facilities, great facilities for british speedway so let's use it, or lose it!

Some years ago I was at the track the day the noise tests were being done at the stadium by the local council and environment agency. The people spent a long time getting all the equiptment set up in difference places, and the bikes were starting to warm up when one of the USAF planes came over the stadium, and they do come over VERY low. Within 10 mins the guys from the Environment Agency were packing up and confirmed there was no problem with the noise of the bikes. 2 reasons were given: 1 - you couldnt hear 14 bikes at all at the point when the plane came over. 2 - the sound of the plane was almost off the scale. Therefore as the track was on the flight path of one of the runways at RAF Mildenhall (although the USAF are there, and Lakenheath and Feltwell they are RAF bases, not USAF bases), the council and the agency found there was no issue with the bikes. Wonder why that hasnt come up, unless things have changed.

Derek, there is no point getting into another debate on here. No, I didn't know that why I asked the question? Enjoy your year defending the press releases you will be given and everything the promotion do, it's what you do every year, at every club, and everyone knows it's. Don't bother replying, I am closing my account as you typify everything that is wrong with this sport and why it's going down the pan. An amateur trying to be something he's not.

Interesting the Kings promotion are posting confidential financial business matters on their website, and posted here by their press officer! Also interesting they claim it would take away from the Airfence fund, when it's already bought for. Last year Len Silver told me, never let the truth get in the way of a press release. Get the feeling there will be a year of that for Kings fans. Oh well, wouldn't expert anything else. And no, I don't own the copyright.

As the person who signed CTA Fire to the 2 year deal as Team Sponsors last year, good to see their continuing. With regards to the racejackets last year a design was made with the CTA Fire logo included ready for the racejackets, which could have been printed on the racejackets by companies such as D-Star and Devon Shirts, for example. The promotion, however, went for the traditional "sewn" racejacket which meant you couldn't have the CTA Fire logo on it, and as someone else posted the crown was a little off. However they certainly lasted the season. If you want to see what they would have looked like, check out the front of David Masons kevlars last season. As regards to the website, it's down to personal opinion. Some people like the new site, many preferred the old one, as you say it will take time to see if it's updated as regularly and in as much detail as last years. The Kings promotion have taken a different direction for 2014, a more traditional, old school promotion. For their sake, and the great Kings fans I hope it continues the amazing start the Kings had in their first ever season.
-
Cant see how they can be, they have changed the logo and the font so the racejackets dont match the new "image". Hopefully one of the Kings Press Officers will give an offiicial response? Parsloes?
-
You'll have to change your logo "whistlegang" to the new one on the website, looks very similar to the new press officers one above, but shame the crown has gone and the fonts changed. New race jackets for 2014 then, wonder what they will do with the old ones?

Adam was told weeks ago he wouldn't be considered for the team. Yes, he didn't finish the season very well and people forget the good scores he put in early season but as with a lot of riders people only remember how you finish. Adam was very disappointed with his lack of consistency and had already started a new fitness campaign and was looking to raise more sponsorship for better equipment. If the promotion go with a new untried rider at reserve then I agree it would have been better to give Adam another chance. Brendon has had three years of league speedway, albeit losing a lot through injury, and is still only on 3.00 so why not give Adam another go as well, especially as he knows his way round CP. A reserve duo of Brandon and Adam could do very well, don't forget a few years ago they were 1 and 2 in the British Under 15s and I think in the Under 16s as well.
-
People HAVE moved on, on both sides. And in that spirit, who would you like as the last reserve? Cradley are still looking for a couple, so as Waco says above, will it be untried rider, or do the promotion have someone up their sleeves?
-
Great piece of promoting by the panthers management. For 20 meetings makes it less than National League teams charge with the programme and parking included. Excellent, well done.
-
Be interesting to see who the 2nd reserve will be. Is someone in the frame or will the promotion be hoping to find someone at the winter practices at Rye House?
-
No-one said Mr Silver joined after the hard work was done by others!!! What I am trying to get across is he didn't do everything, in fact on promoting the club, with the exception of one terrible radio interview he didn't promote the club at all. How much promotion have you seen this offseason? Yet again, any alternative view is shouted down as negative, it's not, it's a different viewpoint but let's all agree that everything is a bed of roses at CP and that promoting in 2014 in the same way as 1964 is the way to go! Happy? PS - With regards to the local press they have contacted me twice in the last few weeks and I have put them in touch with the stadium. They asked to interview me with both times in regards to the recent events and I declined saying that any quotes/interviews should come from the club. PPS - a forum is a place for debate, and different viewpoints. With respect to Parsloes, as someone else has posted, will he ever post anything other than positive posts about the promotion? I don't know, but I do know that if the speedway promoters continue to ignore new ways of thinking and promoting their clubs this great sport of hours will continue to decline and that won't help anyone.
-
Hi Shadders No criticism of your post but I think it's important to state that those that have left, for whatever reason, are more than enthusiasts. One has over 10 years experience of working directly with promoters within speedway clubs, one has over 40 years experience of running motorcycle events, another has over 12 years experience working with speedway and other sports and another has over 10 years sports experience. They are also successful businessmen in their own right and had experience in areas that supplemented that of Mr Cearns and Mr Silver. All are being, or have been replaced, by current stadium and/or Rye House people. As I have said before, I wish the Kings nothing but success but will always wonder what would have happened if the new ideas, marketing etc would have been allowed to continue. Ouch, hope for the Kings fans this is not correct.

Not sure what the rules are but Simon is definitely going to be busy, my guess, and it is a guess, is that the rules for Simon will be in the order he signed for this season which I think is Rye House, Birmingham, Kent but then...... I think I read somewhere that with the NL riders in the EL draft the NL team gets priority so when Lakeside & Birmingham race on a Monday then Ben & Simon would ride for Kent, unless Rye House were riding then Simon would ride for them. Confused?!? Finally, be interesting to see who the second reserve is?
-
The stadium already has a Commercial Manager so would assume he has already taken over that role, as to the others, time will tell.
-
Derek Completely agree with your first point but completely disagree with the second point, its not "in every respect a stand alone club". How can it be when it is run by the promoters from Rye House on a day by day basis, the team picked so far has 5 ex Rye House riders in it, the current team manager is also the team manager of Rye House. How the heck is that "in every respect a stand alone club" ! I appreciate we are never going to agree with what is going on a Kent but please dont insult everyones intelligence by saying its a standalone club. Some very good points and interesting that someone thinks Rye House also suffered last season. As you say Len Silver delivered titles to Rye House and has said in press releases that Rye House is his No 1 priority and always will be. I totally understand that and applaud him for that, but its part of my point. I want the Kent Kings to be run by people who are 100% committed to the Kent Kings.
-
As said above, the Kings will go out to entertain the crowd, and the Kings have a great hardcore fan base who will give the riders all the support they need. We are no longer part of the club and there's no point in going over old ground any longer. It's 2014 next week so let's look forward. I still class myself as a fan of the Kings will support all the riders who ride for them next year, although as with all fans I may not agree with everything that goes on next season and may make the odd comment or two if I feel something needs saying :-) but the past is now the past. Hope everyone had a great Xmas and let's all look forward to a safe and successful 2014.

Greyhoundp - at last, someone who gets what we were trying to do. Proper PR, new technology, we had a team of professional people showing how it could be done. From mid season after Len Silver brought in his ex wife and others from Rye House, one by one the guys were belittled and treated like idiots. We were called amateurs to our faces which is interesting, as we are all succesful businessmen in our own right. It was totally a clash of ideals (new and exciting) to (old hat and no longer effective). Gustix - the link on here is to a thread of Facebook as you say. It's not a post from Len Silver it started with my thoughts about the Kings deciding to stop using the Web company I put in for 2013, and paid for as sponsorship by the way, with Andy Povey. Now I have no issue per se with Andy, who I know, but I think it's a backwards step from what we had. A number of fans have commented on the thread that they don't like the fact that Len is seemingly taking over and one by one some key people have left or been pushed out by Len. To me the Kings had the chance to show speedway that some news ideas on how to promote could work. We tried and think if you look back to last winter we succeeded. Having done the hard work the club have decided to go back to traditional promotion. It will be interesting to see the crowd numbers next season. At the end of the day the Kent Kings will continue without our involvement and at some point without Len Silvers involvement, the important thing is the club. Despite what anyone make think, I wish the Kent Kings all the best for next season.

The Kent Kings promotion have decided to go in a different direction with the website in 2014 and go with AP Media who do the Rye House and BSPA websites, amongst others. They have also released the original press company from dealing with press releases. I don't know who will be doing them from now on. As the current arrangement has come to and end the inaugural website has been removed and there will be no website until AP Media upload theirs sometime in 2014. Sorry to everyone who has visited the original website in the past but the promotion have decided to change this for the future. Any news on the Kings will now come through Mr Silver or AP Media.
-
Wonder who that is Gustix? LOL If it's who I think it is, then he claims to be well versed in both Kent and Iwade although I'm not sure that's true on either count LMAO. Anyway back to the thread............. Who will the 7th rider be? Also Merry Xmas to all Kent, Iwade and Speedway fans.

I see things were sorted out, good, Brandon could do well at CP. 6 down, 1 to go.
-
Mildenhall obviously see something in Connor that the Kent promotion don't, they build a team every year to win the league so it will now be even more interesting to see who the 2 Kings reserves are. With the announcement they will be 2 new riders to the Kings you would hope that, having let Connor and Adam go, after full seasons in the NDL, the 2 new lads have some league experience or are unknown top notch amateurs. Can't see it being Freemantle myself now unless certain things change, although he would be my choice now. Be 2 very interesting signings and lets just hope the promotion are not building the whole teams season around one of these new lads in case they don't sign. It took the Kings over half a season to get over that "cock up" last winter.
