  1. Just to follow up on this the intial statements seen on the internet and teletext that Steve was involved did not come from Steve himself but were an innocent assumption and the report has now been corrected.
  2. Thats spooky Phil, just received a facebook message from Taylor saying he will be there when he can
  3. Fancy callling me a facist collaborator
  4. Hi adz_mft Make sure you login to the Official Fen Tigers forum and see the poll for who you want in the 2011 team. Phil - you too and of course, everyone else is welcome to vote in the poll
  5. I have been asked to post the following official statement from the Mildenhall Fen Tigers. "The new promotional team of the Mildenhall Fen Tigers would like to make it clear that statements made elsewhere regarding Steve Ribbons involvement with the club are not correct. Steve Ribbons has no role, financial or otherwise, at the club".

  7. Chris was on BBC Radio Suffolk earlier and talked about the Fen Tigers and what has happened. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/p00dc5vw/Stephen_Foster_08_02_2011 go to 1.38
  8. Excellent interview by Chris as always.
  9. Can we have Mildenhall Fen Tigers added please
  10. Anybody want to suggest some riders for the 2011 Fen Tigers lineup?
  11. YES (sorry for shouting) There has been so much work gone into this, great news. I will ask them for you
  12. Thanks HalifaxTiger for the post but to be fair you have to admit when you make a mistake and I think I did. I hope everyone now concentrates on whatever can be done to try and get the Fen Tigers back on track which at the end of the day thats what important. Good luck to all everyone involved in the NL this season, and for anyone working on the future of the Fen Tigers.
  13. I think that is the full statement for the moment. 9 teams so only 63 riders able to ride in the National League this season (and it looks like the D for Development) has gone again. National Trophy has been scrapped because not enough clubs!! So 16 league meetings plus KO cup for each team plus an extra 2 for Dudley & Buxton for the National League Shield. If a new reserve to the league races 4 times per meeting and their team get knocked out in the first round of the KO cup thats about 72 mins of racing this season !!
  14. Yes you are probably right. Have come on here this morning having posted an apology on the sms site to read your post which in the cold light of day is a fair comment. "Firstly let me say that clearly feelings have been running very high since the decision last week, mine included. However having reviewed all my postings of the last few days I now feel that it was wrong to post them and would therefore like to apologise to those that I may have offended." Nikko
  15. This is an interesting quote. First point - the "speculation" that is out there on the internet is that the vote was 4 against - 3 for. If Mr Godfrey says this is wrong then the vote must have gone even more against Mildenhall which makes the potential to come back worse not better surely. Second point - Its nice to hear that the league have not given up on Mildenhall. One polite suggestion to the BSPA is that if another promoter or promotional team does come forward I hope the communication is clearer than it appears to have been this time round, and that does not only relate to the potential Ribbons/Jolly promotion. 16. Theres no telling what rules will be in place this season with the current "thinking" of the NL Chairmen etc. I expect:- Average adjustments due to age - down if your young/up if your older (say over 25). British riders only
  17. Im afraid that knowing who voted No the chances of the Mildenhall Fen Tigers ever returning to the track again under the current BSPA management commitee, or with cetain promoters around, the chances are zero.
  18. I am sure Dave did what he thought was best and it was clear from communications from the BSPA that they were leaving it to him to work with potential promoters. Now whatever the rights and wrongs of that decision I do struggle to understand how we found ourselves in the situation that Dave finds a potential promotion he is happy with, a business case is put together and is sent to the BSPA only for that to be turned down at the last minute. As 'billy' says, and as Dave said in press releases, there were other parties interested and we can only hope that over the next 6 months or so Dave and the BSPA can continue to work together to find a promotion that is acceptable to the BSPA. This is not a case of Dave eating humble pie its a case of everyone working together to ensure the Fen Tigers have a future and the NL has another club in 2012. For that reason I hope, beyond hope, that this can all be done, agreed and a licence issued for the Fen Tigers in the next 6 months or so. Then any new promotion will have the time to plan for the 2012 season. If not the Fen Tigers may never race again. Finally re Ollie, he is one of a number of young riders who will now be hoping to get a call for 2011. It will be a travesty that some of our young riders will be without a team come April.
  19. I too read the post and its obvious, and totally understandable, that feelings are running very high at the moment. Although not one to condone mods removing posts, I do think for the good of the name of Mildenhall Fen Tigers and any possible future it may have that we all conduct ourselves in a professional manner. Personal attacks, and Steve Ribbons has had them on this forum, are not accetable and I would hope when things calm down that Steve himself will agree that removing the post was not such a bad thing. We need to move on from the mudslinging, no matter how hard that is, and work towards bringing the great Fen Tigers fans their team back. Nikko
  20. Hi montie you might well be right with 2.5% I cant remember exactly but I think the key point is that I dont believe all Brits get a reduction in the NL its something that happens in the EL/PL for team building which then effects riders NL average. 21st century heathen - I think James is still a Kings Lynn asset
  21. I dont think NL only riders do get a 5% discount. We had this last season with Jerran Hart at Mildenhall. He got a 5% discount from his PL average for team building which took him below 4.00 in the PL that meant he could ride NL. As WillP has stated: Just to clarify, Adam did finish on a PL average of 3.95 last season but with a 5% reduction that all British riders receive for team building, he'll start the 2011 PL season on a 3.85 average. When doubled for a National League average, this is of course 7.70 Therefore Adam gets a PL average with a 5% deduction, which then converts to an NL average. If your a Brit with a NL only average, thats your average unless of course they have changed the rules at the NL AGM.
