  1. Great to see that Stoke are joining the Midlands league and there are not many people who have done more that Malcolm over the years for the younger riders. Let's hope more and more clubs join the Midlands League and we see young British riders progress from the Midlands League, to National League, and Elite League. At the moment this looks like a pipe dream but who knows. Back to Mildenhall let's hope the last two riders fit this criteria, young, British and on their way to long careers.
  2. Think you are trying to tell us something Phil lol.
  3. With Nielsen and Dan Halsey in the top 5 that's going to put massive pressure on the reserves' one of whom may be a new 3 pointer. The success of last years team was based on having a very strong reserve all season. Both Dan and Nielson made their averages, if I remember correctly, from the reserve or even No 8 position in Nielsen case. If one of them rides at No 2 and the other at No 4 they are going to struggle to maintain their averages never mind step up to possible third heat leader. For the fans sake I hope Joe Joe recovers and has the season we all know he can, or Dan or one of the reserves is going to have to have a season like Lewis had or the Fen Tigers could be in trouble. Also how many meetings with Cam miss? Interesting team selection but the promotion know what there doing, and who was available and willing to ride at West Row, so we must wait and see.
  4. Hopefully good news there, fingers crossed as there are going to be alot of young lads without opportunities this season. Like your signature by the way lol
  5. Absolutely gutted for Aaron who couldn't have done anymore for the Fen Tigers last season. Despite the popularity of Cameron and Lewis true speedway people who really understand the sport know that it was Aaron riding the beginning of the season in the difficult No. 2 position and his form throughout the year that made the Fen Tigers the team they were. Just look at his bonus points. I understand it's a numbers game but no loyalty to a rider who dug the promotion out of a major hole when they left themselves needing a No 2 out of press and practice last season...and for the record the Fen Tigers promotion cannot take the credit for getting Aaron to P&P as they didn't invite him. Aaron went to P&P because I invited him and asked him to attend.
  6. Just to clarify one point there could have been Midland Amateur League speedway at West Row last season as the Nikko Racing Ninjas would have joined the league and run after some Fen Tigers meetings. I registered interest with the Lapworths who ran the league and it was at the last minute that the Mildenhall promotion decided that any 2nd half team would have to be a Fen Tigers team and they wanted to concentrate on the Academy instead. Although very disappointed, I fully respected their decision, and I am sure Shane Henry will be looking to run 2nd halves again next season and hopefully a Mildenhall team will be in the Midlands league, or something similar soon. My plan was to run the Ninjas in the Midlands league and against other East Anglian teams. I offered to bring a Ninjas team to West Row many times last season, we have are own fully sponsored race jackets and I would be more than happy to bring them in 2012
  7. I know what your saying HalifaxTiger my point is that the BSPA change the rules so often there is no point now still discussing what happend last season mate. As we all know they can change rules any time they want too, or it suits certain promotions. We have discussed the Brundle/Heeps situation before and we agree about what went on. I totally want an independent body in charge of the our sport, you know my views on the BSPA and it's interesting what Chris Louis has said in the speedway star this week and last that he may get in trouble for speaking out against them as it's fair to say Chris has been known in the past to totally defend the BSPA 100% on certain points. Of course we all want a sport that adheres to it's own rules but let's be honest when did that last happen? There's a fundamental problem with the setup of the sport in the UK but to use a seasonal expression "you will never get turkeys voting for Christmas" and while the promotors are also the rule makers things will get changed/amended or agreed on a case by case basis pre-season post season even during a season. I hate the phase but I think the BSPA use "in the interest of the sport". Sad times my friend just look at the lack of British young talent coming into the NL but that's a whole separate topic! Also let's hope the Fen Tigers give a first National League season opportunity to a young british rider at No 7.
  8. I think it's time everyone moved on from Camerons qualification last season. At the end of the day the BSPA approved him to ride in the NL for the Fen Tigers. The rights or wrongs of that decision don't really matter now, as we know rules change every minute in speedway. It will be interesting to see if the Fen Tigers use Cam in 2012, personally I would let him concentrate on Premier League and for the Fen Tigers to move on. Anyway whatever happens I wish the Fen Tigers all the best for next season. Nikko
  9. With Lakeside confirming that they will not be racing in the NL in 2012 it is even more important for speedway fans in the South East that Sittingbourne (or whatever they will be called) hopefully confirm that there will be league racing at Central Park. With such a good grasstrack scene down here, especially in Kent, its such a shame that young riders do not have local tracks to go to. The tracks at Iwade and Lydd both do a great job for amateur riders, and also give great practice facilities but I am amazed that there is not a club down here for fans to support. The Midlands League is a fantastic setup to help non NL riders get some track time in a proper competition, and hopefully they will use this to progress to the NL and it would be great if there could be something similar in the South East, maybe a mini league with Lakeside, Eastbourne and hopefully Sittingbourne. If it helps I would happily run the Nikko Racing Ninjas amateur team out of any of these tracks. Nikko
  10. Firstly, great to see the forum back, lets hope people respect the rules this time. Secondly Mark has not made a final decision although its fair to say that Grasstrack may figure highly for him next season. Speedway is getting too expensive and something needs to be done about it, and soon. Thirdly, you would hope that the Mildenhall promotion, along with most other NL promotions would be looking at Adam Kirby. He was unlucky not to get a team spot last season, after finishing runner up in the British Under 15 the year before and then led the British Under 16 championship last season before he broke his hand. He has good equiptment, the right attitude and good support. HE IS READY. Finally, if the Fen Tigers are going for two 3 point reserves and the majority of last years team (assuming 40 points), what about. Cameron Heeps 9.18 Aaron Baseby 4.88 Jack Hargreaves 7.04 Danny Halsey 4.76 Lewis Blackbird 7.01 Trevor Heath 3.00 Adam Kirby 3.00 Total 38.87 Just a thought
  11. Danny deserved more than a text, if thats true then the Heathens promotion should be ashamed especially as their "Chairman" is in the communications/media business. Disgusting
  12. Only one word to describe last night - WOW Congrats to both teams and best wishes to all clubs that come to the tapes in 2012 Nikko
  13. Attack the post not the poster Mr Godfrey. I was respectful in my post shame the same cannot be said in yours and you linked to my post and yet raised points made by others. For the record i know both Malcolm and Stuart and have the utmost respect for them both.
  14. Now thats not strictly true but lets not stop facts getting in the way of your point. And Mr Godfrey has simply changed his tune as HT has stated. When Scunthorpe were a standard alone CL team he had one (strong) opinion and wasnt afraid to voice it at every opportunity. Now he has exactly the opinion he used to argue against. At the end of the day he has the right to do what he wants with his club and rightly so but dont try and change history. It will be a great shame if they are not in the NL next season and personaly i hope they are.
  15. Nothing on the BSPA website about this but then we all know who runs British Speedway anyway so no surprise this news comes out of Poole
  16. More important than the extra meeting, and in its way even more important than the first meeting with the air fence is the fact that this meeting is is memory of the most important person in Mildenhalls history. Bernie Klatt should never be forgotten and well done for bringing this meeting back
  17. Now now HT you know Uncle Len wouldnt do anything untowards especially against Mildenhall.
  18. You could also question having a guest in a semi final that rides for the team already in the final but I think its fair to say the current promotion must have looked at every available rider and have gone for the one they think can do the best job.
  19. Good luck to Adam Kirby who makes his National League debut on Sunday for the Saints at Buxton
  20. Great to see you to mate but for goodness sake put the bleedin legs away
  21. Firstly well done to the Fen Tigers on a great home and away KOC victory against the Hawks. Secondly you cannot complain about the vibe at the club this season, or the crowds that are attending. Now to Dannielles comment and the difficult No 6 position. The Management clearly thought from pre season that they would be able to convince the BSPA to let Cameron Heeps ride and therefore announced him at the pre season Fan Forum. With the subsequent signing of Lewis at reserve this left the Management with a decision to find a "temporary" rider until Cameron arrived. Danny Stoneman, I thought, did well and then Nick came in. I have known Nick for a couple of years and you couldnt ask for someone to try harder than Nick does but the scores didnt reflect his efforts so the Management have decided to give Adam a chance. If the latest in the press is correct, that the BSPA have confirmed that Cameron cannot ride in the NL this season, which some people have said all along would be the case then the Management have to make a decision for the rest of the season. Do they: 1) Give a young, local, British lad a chance in Adam and stick with him throughout, no matter what. Could be a long term view looking towards next season. 2) Find a more experienced 3.00 ish rider, if there is one, to give solid backup to the other reserve. 3) Have vulture races at home in the second halves for the No 6 spot with Adam P racing, for example Adam Kirby, Niall Strudwick, Nick Laurence and/or someone else. Its great to see the above young riders wanting to come to Mildenhall for regular second halves and long may that continue. Unfortunately, it seems that the "signing" of Cameron has caused a season long problem at No 6 for the Fen Tigers but someone may grab this opportunity. If they do the Fen Tigers could win something this season.
  22. I didnt agree with the things that were said in the speedway star but yesterday Nick came to the meeting with the right attitude, which is a credit to him. Also Kevin Jolly spent alot of the meeting talking to Nick and you could see there was no problem between them. It does Kevin credit that he was nothing but positive with Nick from the moment he arrived at the stadium. On another matter, and to put everything in perspective I wish all the best to John Resch for a full recovery, that was a very nasty accident and an unwanted reminder of how dangerous this sport can be.
