Have not been on here for years but was interested in views of this first league type meeting back at Iwade. The new owner of the Kent Royals needs to be given time. He came in and saved the club, to his credit after the club lost Central Park. With no choice but to run at Iwade, there will be serious limitations. It's not a league venue by any standards, but it's all they have for now. If you go, and I hope people do, accept you are seeing 2022 speedway at it's most grassroots in terms of venue, but support the young riders, and the club, and hopefully in years to come the club can move onto to better things.

For the last time...It never was Lens money...It was Roger Cearns money. ..and Roger who brought speedway to Central Park. He spent years working with people to get speedway to Central Park before Len was even involved.

Great news that permanent planning was given and it certainty seems that the council took into account sone bogus complaints that would not have helped. I can't say if all the complaints only came from 5 households in 2015 as unless you are a privy to private council papers you won't be but it would surprise me if only 5. The main thrust of the most vocal complaints in the lead up to the first season and in the first season itself was organised by a local who had a personal issue with Mr Cearns. It had nothing specifically to do with speedway but was an easy way for said individual to "get back" at Roger. Some others jumped on the bandwagon. Roger did everything the council asked and there were many thorough inspections.Iknow because I was there. Roger deserves massive credit for the years it took to get speedway to Central Park and for everything achieved so far. Riders and even co-promoters may come and go at CP over the coming years but without Roger there is no speedway at CP.

Just moved back to Suffolk and now this great news. West Row for me next season then when not Grasstracking.

It's heartbreaking to read these posts and the ones on Kents fb page. We put so much effort into starting up the Kings and to see it unravel so badly in the last 2 years is soul destroying. Unfortunately you reap what you sow and most of our concerns seem to have happened. Is it too late if a new promoter came in to work with Roger. Who knows but that stadium deserves alot more than its getting.

Kent Kings V Cradley Heathens Nl 27/4
Nikko replied to blueherb777's topic in National League Speedway
Speedway clubs very rarely, if ever, publish crowd figures especially those that only deal in cash. I know for a fact that the average in the first season was over 1000. Since then there does seem a discrepancy between the press releases/assessment from people who speak for the club and the views of those there, including sponsors. Most weeks the numbers mentioned by the updater on the Speedway Updates for example are questioned by fans / sponsors in attendance. At the end of the day though in a sense it doesn't matter whether it's 300 a week or 900 a week if Mr Cearns is happy then great. Parsloes and I don't agree on much, and don't forget he is their Press Officer so cannot say anything other than positive thingzs, but even I cannot believe he would use the term "bumper crowd" if there were 300 there as thats not even break even for CP and Im sure the VAT man would come a knocking. As to the earlier post about Mr Silvers promotional activities I will let the history of Kent Kings commercial and promotional activities speak for themselves. -
Interesting the Kings promotion have put the link on the website and it confirms what Mr Silver said at the Press Day. If Central Park get the planning approved it's Friday night EL racing With the Lakeside promotion moving to CP. It will be interesting if they come and run the Kent Kings in the EL or bring the Hammers to CP. Then will the current promotion run NDL for the Kings as well on alternative Fridays? Could be major changes at Central Park IF this gets approved. There's certainly been alot of discussion as to what may happen if EL only at CP. Personally whatever happens I hope the Kent Kings survive for the amazing fans.

Re Iwade. The SCB have a problem with that believe me so thats probably not an option plus the guys at Iwade would probably have something to say about it as why should they be associated with anything going on at Central Park? Personally hope the Hammers stay at Lakeside and Kings stay at CP.

Nice to see after all this time my stalkers still here. No bitching on my part just suggested that the two people have different ways of promoting that's all. Think your paranoid "Hector"
-
Would be interesting if Mr Silver and Connor had to work together lol. Think they might be poles apart on speedway "promotion" in the 21st century

To be fair at one point Kent were at the forefront of social media, marketing etc and a number of clubs contacted them about their success. Then the club went back to a more tradional aporoach. Interesting that Eastbourne this year are doing similar things to the original Kings commercial team and are seen as at the forefront. Mind you appreciate I'm biased. Re the microphones it's been mentioned for years and the Stadium has the equipment. Good luck to all the Kings this year and whatever happens with the Hammers next year I for one hope the Kings will also be there.

Hi Gustix I have checked all the links today on a laptop and mobile device And they all work fine as they have for months. I have also asked others to check and no problem. Will check again tomorrow But there is no issue we or the Web company can find.

Hope everyone has a great day. Still have one of every Fen Tigers race jackets up to 2011 and Ray Bales leathers and Armo's kevlars from PL era. When a few of us kept the club alive some years ago when it was dead and buried having closed mid season it seemed this day may never happen but glad my club since I was a lad survived and has flourished

Just wanted to say the above post is one of the most sensible and articulate I have seen on here for a very long time. Good luck to the lad.

Priority Over Double Up Riders 2015
Nikko replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Re Lewis Blackbird. Individuals cannot own riders assets and have not been able to for years. Chris Louis cannot own him. Lewis signed as a Mildenhall asset and as far as I know has never been sold. He certainly does not belong to Chris.
