Forget Nelson. Not worth worrying about at this stage of the season. Use Ben on two northern tours...dont think so Gjedde had won me over but this means 4 meetings missed due to the arrival of a baby. Unbelievable The Nelson saga became boring in april. Cant see the point of him coming over now, i don't believe any quotes on what has hapenned nor can i believe the whole problem stemmed from a simple visa application error either. But to be honest does anyone really care anymore?

I sometimes despair that kids can be allowed to come back far too soon. An experienced Promotion should have offered better advice. Now he is out again possibly for the season there will be the usual clamour for Ben to be bought into the side. All well and good in a strong side which we are not. With a clearly struggling Jason Bunyan and Richie Hawkins being so inconsistent we need someone with more experience especially given that R/R is not returning the points we need to cover Luke Bowen. Worrying time with so many away matches coming up thick and fast

World Cup Final 14th July
westhamboy66 replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Well done Nicki speedway needs you Denmark light years ahead. Fair play to a great team that was able to leave 3 GP riders on the sidelines BSI / FIM hang your heads in shame for ruining a trophy that carries the great Ove Fundins name. The joke that is the joker -
Does anyone support this stupid cheap stunt of a rule that clearly devalues the competition and makes a laughing stock out of speedway? Thought not

I have just checked and i hope you don't mind me pointing out your error but according to WH Smith PLC there are no full stops in WH Smith perhaps you could return the ones you mistakenly used and get a refund. Anyway back on topic bit of early rain but nothing to threaten the meeting i think.

Better more balanced side now with chessell at reserve. Hope the weather is ok and its a decent match Looking forward to it

Well i was one of the supporters who felt our season was over after the two home defeats. The only reason i felt that way was Charlies indifferent form. Indeed looking at his real average with us which is just over 8 it fails to get him into the top 20 riders in the Pl which quite frankly is not what you would expect from a rider of his quality. Nor is it what we need more than ever an out and out no1 Win lose or draw i will follow Rye home and away as i have done since 76 but that doesn'tstop me being a realist. I don't like the playoffs and dont like the idea of teams scraping into the playoffs then winning the league. For me Newcastle Somerset and Workington have assembled far superior teams than we have and it would take massive bad luck and injuries for those three for us to overtake them. I stand by my season over comment as i feel that hasn't changed as far as honours is concerned. Of course i would be happy if we did win the playoffs but a victory through the playoffs isn't nearly as sweet as winning the league which is all about season long achievement rather than coming to form for the last meetings of the season. As far a Luke goes he is for me what a rider should be. Clearly loves the club and continues to make strides albeit very small. He is probably the first name on the team sheet along with Chris Neath and so he should be but given his awful run of injuries i hope he eally works for usdoes't try to come back this season as it is an injury that should be treated with respect. If Nelson fits then it is the obvious move i just don't want to see us try and go with rr as it never really seems to work for us.

I make you right. I like Jordan but where he has been disappointing for me is away from home. Agreed thr Rye track clearly isn't for him but it seems to have affected his away form too. Anders for me has been the most impressive forced addition, temporary replacement, call him what you will. It's not so much the points he has scored but they way he has got them and his general attitude around the team. At Sheffield it was apparent how upset he was at his performance points wise and his mechanical gremlins letting the side down. In the pits he was the first to help jason garrity after his fall and seems genuinely keen to be part of the team. He seems well liked by the supporters as well and i'm sure Len knows him better than most with Andrew helping him out. So like his fellow Swedes Stefan and Linus i hope Len does sign him up before someone snatches him up

Good for his confidence, good for the struggling Raiders and good for those watching him in the NL. Best wishes to David Mason that was an awful crash and once again the fence at Rye proved itself to be among the best around

Raiders V Lynn Young Stars Sat 2nd June
westhamboy66 replied to waco's topic in National League Speedway
Well i live 5 minutes away from Arena Essex where i do go but certainly not when there is racing at Rye. I also go to Eastbourne when Rye are not riding. Eastbourne is tempting with Poole the visitors but my i hate watching long distance racing so no lakeside for me. Looking forward to the NL match tonight and hopefully another one on monday as long as they get on with the meeting as i do want to leave about six to get to Peterborough as i do love that place Great post everything said there is what i would have said. I wouldn't say i have never seen a decent race meeting at Arena Essex but they are sadly all too rare, West Ham was what i was brought up on but i also did see a meeting at Harringay . I saw the Raiders at the Isle of Wight and was quite impressed. Always worth a watch as you never know when Len may unearth another top talent and he does deserve to make a success of the Raiders for simply putting these meetings on -
Good move for Plymouth Great top two with support from Gatercole they are for me a top team in waiting if they make two changes the first has arrived and one more arrival and the team will start winning away no doubt about it. Unlucky at Ipswich and even without Fisher were a handfull at Rye. Nice to see them at last get down to being a serious team. Fair play to Bowden
