  1. No way will Len Silver replace any of the top four when Jason gets back. Robert is a temp replacement plain and simple. Luke Bowen fit to ride around mid July but i be surprised to see him back unless there are any further injuries
  2. Justice done, well done Rockets minus the two Jasons hopefully one day soon we'll be back to full strength. Thats two Tigers teMs dispatched from the KO Cup, both woeful teams has to be said
  3. Takes five minutes to come up with a decent race formula that works. For example four groups of four pairs thirteen teams plus and additional three pairs from the top rated clubs using the top four averages rather than top three. Each pair rides each the other three pairs in their group which equates to twenty four qualifying races winners of each group to race in a semi final then a final. Total twenty seven races. Again Rye House with a top four of Garrity Allen Mellgren and Nelson are not included and all four of these riders would grace the event. For me the best meeting of the year but i'll not go without a team to support and i am sure that there are a lot of like minded supporters of the three clubs. Will be the same for the fours, almost as thought the BSPA don't want to run a successful event. Yes the knockers will say 32 riders will cost extra but how much dough will be lost at the turnstyles, My forty quid for a start
  4. Some pics from the meeting https://secure.flickr.com/photos/harryward/sets/72157633406829255/

  6. Excellent racing tonight, having watched these sort of meetings run slightly differently in California i m a big fan. Boxall Nelson and Garrity a joy to watch having to pick their way through the field. Entertaining night despite the big gulf in quality. One downer was the Gino injury, hope he is ok but Rye really need to sort this ambulance problem, more or less an hour between races whilst a county ambulance was called and not for the first time this season.
  7. Agree with Shadders. If there was ever a done deal it is the one that will see him at Rye Alongside Garrity Nelson Lykke And Mellgren in 2014. Nothing to gain from the NL he needs to be riding against his betters to continue his rapid improvement. Many knock Len Silver but there are reasons the likes of Woffinden Sundstrom and Kennett chose Rye House to further their careers and contrary to opinion it has little to do with cash. One season at PL maybe enough but i hope it's two
  8. Re Sheffield May 11th i think this is a shocking decision, this is a competition we could do well in but with Garrity missing especially given his current form any replacement will be inadequate. More so than with Glasgow we truly need a big lead to defend. I just can't understand it unless the was some sort of cut off date for the next round to be run which compelled us to run.
  9. Bang on, i have a few Tigers fans friends who agree the Promotion has done really well especially given the bleak outlook this year. But as you say much of the important stuff is done on track. I thought the Tigers would do well this year given what looks to be a a decent enough top three. Bager what we saw of him anyway seems to be a shadow of his former self and in my mind you might as well have local junior for the future in the team. I'm sure the Aussies will come good but Joe looks to be in a bit of a decline too so it may be a long season. Grieves looked down on power and wright was ok when gating and woeful otherwise. I hope it turns around as the promotion seem good.
  10. Any team with wright screen grieves and bager as a top four should get at the very least 40 pts every match. Heat Leaders were rubbish. Joe screen made to look a novice by jason garrity. I feel for the few Tigers supporters i saw tonight. I'm sure this team don't come cheap and the new promotion who are doing all the right things deserve better. Well done to the Rockets, lets hope we are back to full strength before the league gets fully underway
  11. Know what you mean about the Tigers but i can't see the Rockets managing such a big home win. If we insist on carrying one reserve and play the hit and miss game with RR then we could struggle to get a big win. Not one of Joe's favourite tracks but if he has a big meeting it could be close. I'd be happy with a ten point lead in the hopes that Allen Mellgren Nelson and Garrity score well and that Lykke has one of his very good meetings. A good tie in prospect.
  12. http://www.worldspeedway.com/artman/publish/article_22921.shtml Completely ambiguos statement from Chris Louis on the postponement. No thought or care for the public at all. Rob Godfrey doesn't know what he is talking about, Chris Loiuis does as he rode for twenty years at a hundred different tracks but he wasn't fussed if it was on or not. Well Mr Louis i am sure that the fans who took time off work and wasted petrol on their journey from Scunthorpe weren't very happy. Then again i doubt Mr Lous has never had to pay to watch speedway in his life. Last night is one of the reasons speedway is in a downward spiral. Shame on Ipswich Speedway
  13. Steve it is all about opinions but the constant jibes about the Rye track is tiresome. Having seen racing at every track that is currently running i love my weekly jaunts to Rye since i started watching there in 76. I love trips to most tracks but there are some namely Lakeside (5mins from where i live) belle Vue wolverhampton where i just can't be bothered. I don't go on and on about them as they all have followings that love their speedway at those tracks. But there are the few on here some of whom have probably never been to Hoddesdon who jump on the bandwagon. As shadders says he has given up defending Rye House but when the barage of critical comments come from suffolk it seems a bit strong. There is some great speedway to be seen around the country and that includes Rye House, the time of dust, no dirt, one racing line etc etc that led to DRY House is long gone. Just because a team can't win there is no excuse to slate the track. As i said before stick a good team with decent racers on it like Somerset are this year and good racing will appear.
  14. I would have thought that rather obvious but perhaps you need it spelt out so.....DRY HOUSE. Or perhaps its a term used so often by critical mindless East Anglian "Fans" that those readers of such drivel actually believe such things. Perhaps there is also a clue in too many riders being unable to ride the track which taken with the dry house comment is plain for all to see. I hope that may have explained things so that you can discuss it at the Foxhole on thursday while watching the fifteen processions. I hope that my comment isn't misconstrued as a criticism of your home track
  15. What Luke actually said was. Due to have the pin out in june or july, then it would take a month after that to get fit, he also added that he would wait and see how he felt about riding, so even if fit there is some doubt in his mind whether he wants to ride again, whatever he does i wish him well, you could never knock the effort he put in for us. Was also mentioned on the mic that Chris Neath would get a benefit meeting later on in the season
  16. Ever been to Rye House? Try it one day i think you will find that Glasgow's inability to win at Hoddesdon has more to do with a lack of quality in their team rather than the stories about the track, put a class team like Somerset on it and you see a proper match with ...yes passing.
  17. It's my personal feeling. Spoilt from years of having a proper sized league. All these filler competitions do nothing for me. Ask someone in a year what the competition we won in 2012 was and no one will remember. League Cup is nothing more than a filler in a season that is worryingly thin. Only the K O Cup is worth going for outside of the league. As far as winning the League cup is concerned, we have an exciting team when we have seven riders but there are several teams that we would not get anywhere near on aggregate mainly due to what is now a weakness at home.
  18. Boring i know but all last season we wasted time with RR, didn't work then doesn't work now, ok we will get lucky at places like Plymouth but at top clubs we will be found out. Ben wasn't ready last year so what is different given that he has been thrown in without turning a wheel. Until he finishes a NL season with an average around 8 he shouldn't be used as we are wrecking any confidence he has. I liked the makeup of the side for this year as it has so much potential but why do we make the same mistakes year after year when injuries strike. Ok so the league has yet to start but there are too many ifs and buts regarding the return of injured riders just to plough on with rr and Ben. I suppose we will win comfortably against Plymouth and those in charge will be happy, but even they can't miss the fact that we are papering over the cracks.
  19. Rye House v Ipswich April 1st https://secure.flickr.com/photos/harryward/sets/72157633173951198/
  20. Ben really needs to show what he can do this season at NL level, i think PL outings will hinder his progress especially if he's not quite up to it and his confidence gets knocked. As far as RR is concerned we may be doing ok with it at Plymouth tonight but it's suicide to try it for more than this weekend. Enough quality around to bring in a replacement for a couple of months but past seasons seem to suggest we will carry on with RR shame i think this is a decent team with loads of potential and might surprise a few teams
  21. Absolute tripe. Having seen both legs of this fixture which has an overall aggregate win for Rye a team that has massive potential. If we are bottom four (which is normal comment from this doom and gloom merchant) where does that leave the Ipswich As for the track look around at the postponements already, not due to the rain but frost the track after work stood up well and had decent racing. Three and a half hours is a disgrace but my concerns would be for the three injured riders rather than how cold the loves were before they toddled off home.
