  1. Charles Wright now gone from Somerset. The sort of rider we could do with. Our top five so inconsistent away from home and for example our new No1 picks up 2 points away at Lynn. But you get what you pay for I suppose and in our case over the last three years not very much
  2. Rather than jump in and talk replacements etc ....Best wishes to Edward speedy recovery
  3. True Max and NBJ were the only two. Not surprising with NBJ on a short term contract but on the night I thought there was a message there somewhere. Be surprised if come the next meeting Max is still there. Shame as what he really needed was a Championship team
  4. To be fair Rye house have found themselves in real problematic position. From the Off BMR wanted top flight speedway and they wanted their product on the Telly. Then came the collapse of a meaningful amount of money due to sky pulling out. Add to that because of the move they have now found themselves having to operate midweek speedway. Ever since i first went to Rye in '76 it has been a Sunday afternoon or Saturday evening track. Its quite clear supporters have voted with their feet and it simply doesn't work. So given that circumstance bringing in extra revenue is vitally important to keeping speedway running. The motor x track looks terrible and the stadium scruffy but the important thing is at the moment we still have speedway. Personally as long as we have speedway I couldn't care less whether I'm in a fild or a plush stadium. Decent facilities guarantees nothing. Ask Coventry fans. So I agree but keeping the place running is the most important thing
  5. Firstly I haven't mentioned Edwards injury because it is common Knowledge nothing strange or sudden about that. NO I don't think that Edward's average is acceptable (I assume thats what dandy means in your mind) However against Kings Lynn he was wearing a new Knee brace recommended to him by Scott Nicholls which has left him in a much better situation than before. He also requires surgery on his knee that he has put off until the end of the season. These are not my words but Pete Hill (Speedway Star) gave this info out. If you don't have a problem with Edward then why are you insinuating that there is something amiss with the scores you supply. Injured or not I am surprised that you are surprised that Edward scored well at Lakeside of all places. You may not be aware that riders do have favourite tracks and perform differently with absolutely no Rye House rider performing well at Swindon. Edward is in the side this year as a second string and any average around six will be acceptable which I think he will attain. Chris on the other hand is our number one and by his own admission he is having a terrible time of it and a number one with a six point average is exactly what got Kennett the sack. If you must be critical of one rider then be fair with your attitude to others in the team. I really don't think Chris needs any help in outlining the many different reasons for his form as he was pretty eloquent in his Facebook post. One last thing if you really want to get your point across to as you put it to a great servant of the club pop along to the pits next time, Edward along with his dad are always in with the fans during racing pat him on the back for a great performance against Kings Lynn then ask him face to face to explain why he failed at Poole and Swindon only to ride well when not riding for Rye at Sheffield and Lakeside. You could even ask him why he has been all Over the place this season. I'm sure you'll get an answer
  6. Think you have a major problem with Kennett. Star man without a doubt tonight and while knocking him you never mentioned the fact that he rode through the pain barrier after his grass track knee injury. Test Chris Harris who has been a shadow of his former self is excused because he is battered and bruised. Difference between the two is that Kennett doesnt get all over social media telling everyone about mechanical issues and injuries. You also say Chris Harris is a number one ...what is his average this season ?6. Kennett was sacked for under performance perhaps Chris will meet the same fate
  7. You fail again to be critical of Harris at No 1 and KK never bothering to finish a race when he's at the back.Knives out again for Kennett but everything else is rosy in the camp
  8. Making of a good team is a proper No1 who can regularly go out and win heat 15 and two decent reserves. Until the Promotion understand that we will continue to struggle. Ellis Perks was going far better than Max last year and got binned. Not Max’s fault but he is a long way away from being the quality we need. We were lucky tonight and that luck will run out sooner or later.
  9. Was a decent meeting disappointing from the World Champion had he been at his best Somerset could well have won. Unavoidable delays due to crashes and unsatisfactory starts. What winds me up is the need for the riders to return to the pits after heat stopped for unsatisfactory start. Each time there seems to be a 30 second wait for the 2mins to go on then the two mins are used up so so a heat that’s restarted five times is a complete waste of time. Quite why we continue with afternoon meetings I have no idea dust is inevitable and so watering after every two heats adds so much time to a meeting. On the plus side a great performance from Scott Nicholls the best he has ridden for us but on the whole it really shows how weak we are even after a last heat five one Somerset go home with a point
  10. If Kennett had started as badly as Harris then the knives would be out. There is no excuse for a number one to score a big fat zero. The same with Stuart Robson who hasn’t been go particularly well so far and is now injured. Sadly we can’t hang around for Robson and he should be replaced now. But of course if your face fit at Rye you will be ok. Made me laugh that some are calling for Freddie Lindgren when the promotion won’t fork out for race jackets let alone Kevlars. Sad state of affairs that the stadium is far worse now than under Len Silver with the club in the wrong league on a race night no one wants. Only one way this is going to end. And Leicester fans thought their past situation was bad
  11. For me there is nothing better than a reserve having seven rides and having a great meeting. Six was the max a few years ago but for me given the possibilities of RR and injuries during the meeting 7 is about right I've had enough of three rider races
  12. You may well be right but the season starts in March and by June or July when his is up to standard he may well have been one of the big reasons why Rye House will be out of the playoffs and a season ending again in early September.
  13. Only the rain can stop a Wolves win I fear. Would need Harris Nicholls and KK to bang in the race wins and NBJ to remember the quick way round Rye, asking too much I think
  14. I find all this embarrassing. Rye House have always been a second tier club running on weekends and have done pretty well too. Now we are running again on an unfamiliar night and given the side we are putting out the crowds will dwindle. Harris Robson and Nicholls have hardly set the Second tier alight and at this level are the basis of a side that will get mauled every time away from home. We didn’t make the playoffs last year, we have learned nothing from team building last season and the current side would struggle against Championsip teams. Even down to no team Kevlar we look a second rate club going nowhere and have a stadium that has gone backwards since the BMR mob moved in. Fans wanted Silver out and now they have what they wished for
  15. Well I have been following Rye since 1976 home and away through good times and bad and this period since Silver left is poor. That’s not glass half full nonsense it’s reality anyone who thinks otherwise doesn’t have a clue.
  16. We were rubbish the only excuse for no tac sub was there wasn't one rider who would have scored better than the rider being replace thats how bad we were, the current team would struggle in the Championship or whatever its called these days
  17. Not surprised by the result but disappointed by what I saw on track. KK looked completely disinterested, nothing worse than watching a rider who can't be bothered to finish a race without coasting the last lap hundred yards behind third place Scott Nicholls a shadow of his former self will struggle at Peterborough let alone Rye House Chris Harris once a rider who went from last to first now a rider who goes from first to last in heat one and sends all the wrong signals Robbo I hope had one of those nights when little went right. Edward did ok but never looked capable of winning a race. Max Clegg looked out of his depth on a track I thought he would score reasonably well Aaron Summers looked our best rider which says it all Compared to Wolves we looked like a bunch of over the hill amateurs and the shabby shirts worn over multi coloured Kevlar's looked pathetic. All in all a 300 mile journey to watch a top half Premiership team wipe the floor with a team that would likely struggle in the Championship with little racing evident on track Given the state of the stadium and the team we are putting out seems like we are out of the frying pan into the fire since Silver was replace by the BMR mob. I hope things improve but I got big doubts
  18. Yes and let’s be fair to Len Silver that was the rule at the time across the sport not a Len Silver decision.
  19. Well written Dave and I agree with more or less all you have said Couple of things though any TV money they were expecting seems to have gone now, but the exposure for the BMR name would still benefit but now they have sponsorship the BMR Rockets tag has gone. As a customer I really disliked the loss of the long bar it was somewhere to go in the colder weather before and after the meeting, what is left doesn't cut it. As for the move to what is now the premiership I was against it as I like regular racing and Saturday / Sunday was always best for me. We now are in a much poorer run league with fewer meetings without one proper race night. Wednesday has little appeal given that for most people it is a work night but more so that I won't be able to take my grandsons as at five and three they simply can't stay up that late during the week. But for me the last nail in the coffin could well be the motor cross track. Whilst I appreciate the need for income it shouldn't be at the detriment to existing fans and if the jumps obscure my view then enough will be enough
  20. Agreed it’s a bit lit like not paying for team Kevlar I suppose, promoters choice though I doubt the Kevlars have anything to do with the lousy weather forecasts around Hoddesdon in the coming 10 days
  21. There it was on page 3 of the Speedway Star. I simply cannot believe the attitude of Lakesides Promotion and how they have the front to move up from the NL still owing money to the rider. Whether or not he is a soft touch is of no consequence the promotion are a despicable pair. They more than anyone know the risks riders face since they lost their Captain and the big bills that could follow up a couple of engine blow ups etc. For JC to say he had no idea is laughable. So much for the BSPA taking money from clubs when a new promotion join to cover such eventualities. You couldn’t make it up.
  22. Well looking at the Poole team it seems unlikely that even with a KK riding at top form for every match we would get anywhere near them. Some would say i’m Negative but I can’t see our season going beyond mid September. Home points not a problem but as per usual over the last ten years where are the away points coming from.
