  1. I agree but only as long as the same effort etc is seen at Rye that is shown with Coventry, there lies the difficulty. I would back any Rye House rider that gave his all for Rye. Edward Kennett a good example given things are not great at Birmingham for him. Steve Boxalls efforts for Kent last year that was never less than full on given that he could have coasted and still looked good. I think Jason owes Len Silver that much
  2. Far be it for me to defend John "Mr Motivator" Sampford but...Rye were Not 12pts down until after heat 11 so could only use the second T/R in heat 12. That was their last opportunity and as the only programmed rider of the two rockets Bunyan had to take the T/R. Load of crap against again against a side who won't be near the Title this season. Lambert has to go immediately as does Garrity who clearly couldn't care less. Again only Bowen, Boxall and Kennett are worth a mention and a trip to Mildenhall for me next Sunday unless two signings are made, i can't lake another thumping from that mob up the road.
  3. Shocking comment from someone who follows a team without a track. They have given their reasons with rider safety of paramount importance. At least they cancelled the day before without letting people in as was seen at another midland club, so no your comment of "only at Stoke" isn't correct is it? I wish Malcolm Vasey all the luck in keeping the track alive
  4. Jason Garrity moves to Rye House on a... - Belle Vue Speedway ... https://www.facebook.com/bellevuespeedway/posts/302420153171108 RYE House have completed the signing of Jason Garrity on a full transfer from Belle Vue. Garrity has started the season on-loan to the Premier League club from ... Bellevueaces.co Website on 5/5/12 states Garrity joins Rye House on a permanant transfer for an undisclosed sum. That statement came two months after the row when Len jumped the gun about signing him and Belle Vue complained. So yes full asset for Rye. The Way Jason is going about things he'll end up copping a ban for withholding his services, then Len will terminate his loan and hold out for a full transfer. Could get messy. I would prefer he knuckles under but if he does go lets hope we replace him before the league kicks in and start with a settled side
  5. A lot of the riders that Simon will race against for Birmingham are not going to be as strong as many of the PL reserves. I think Simon will be ok at Birmingham, a brilliant signing for Kent but won't cut the mustard at Rye. Luke already taking on too much responsibility with seven rides the norm, we simply cannot carry a reserve and utilise RR at the same time. On paper we look rubbish but in reality with everyone firing we are easily capable of a playoff place, that said everyone must be firing and Boxall and Garrity needing to put two points per head onto their averages. Well given what he said pre season Garrity is proving a liability, he is clearly more interested in the EL than Rye and is rapidly turning into a waste of space, and Boxall who started like a train is clearly reliant on fast machinery and seemed well down on power last week. Seems to me we got a couple of things right in a very good no1 and Luke at reserve. Other than that its business as usual ala the last few seasons and what a terrible decision dumping Pontus Aspgren seems to have been i have seen him twice and he was flying both times. If Somerset don't stuff us tomorrow i think Ipswich certainly will next week. I'm normally overly positive but after the two Plymouth meetings something will need to be done
  6. Normally i would steer clear of comments like sour grapes etc levelled at Poole and their Management but this is a load of rubbish from Mr Ford. Had any other rider bar a Poole rider been injured in a racing accident Mr Ford would have not said anything on the subject. Very little blame can be apportioned to anyone with regard to Darcy's injury. The track provided a couple of holes or ruts that caused several riders to go out of control, nothing worse than happens every year at Cardiff. Accidents happen and Smolinski was the victim of the rut Darcy was on the end of a racing accident, yes Smolinski at fault and didn't gain anything from the race so end of story. This sort of thing happens every week. On this occassion Poole lose an asset which is a shame but if it upsets his British Promoter so much then perhaps he needs to quit the EL and drop into the NL where he would have better control over where and when his assets ride. By the way an over the top tackle is not an accident it is generally a dangerous action carried out by a player who knows exactly what he is doing and a million miles away from what happened to Darcy. Get well soon Darcy
  7. To be honest i couldn't care less how much, what type, who's paying, how will they pay etc. Belle Vue Aces are, like it or not, the biggest name left in British Speedway and to that end I'll be delighted to see them in a decent home at long last. The Kirky lane track has long held them back and i for one have felt sorry for whoever has attempted to run speedway from there. I am happy to watch speedway from a farmers field but if a brand new stadium comes from this then great I'll pop up to see some racing there. This is great news for BV and for once a bit of general support from the forum should be forthcoming. Sadly all that seems to come forth is stupidity generated by some jealous deranged "fans" who should be grateful that speedway can look forward to some good news on the horizon. As a tiny kid i was taken to New Cross where i caught the bug, saw a PL final at Harringay, lived quite near Walthamstow, supported West Ham while spending my formulative years living in Custom House and following the Hammers to places like Wimbledon and Hackney. Notice a trend? All of Londons tracks gone with Coventry probably on the way soon too so i rejoice when hearing something positive for once. Good luck to those involved with Belle a Vue and their fans
  8. Has nought to do with age or living in the past. Each decade has had its great entertainers who deserve a mention, the seventies to many is the golden era as there were so many top quality, spectacular riders who actually had some sort of charachter, sadly today far too many are too clinical, shy away from any sort of controversy and in effect become boring. I would pay money every day of the week to watch Gollob, Jonsson, Pedersen, Ward, Sayfutidinov, Hans Andersen. Every era has had them it's just that other era's were loaded with them, today thats simply not the case.
  9. My Mum had this awful disease i wish the Mauger Family the very best of luck, far from easy for close relatives to deal with
  10. Great post. Some testimonials are well deserved, Luke Bowen for instance celebrates his the day after Cardiff, been at Rye since he was sixteen, never going to be a top rider but has given everything in the eleven years he has been a Rocket and only his severe injuries have found him absent from the team then you have KK one completely deserved the other not.
  11. Easy home win i think. Last night Once again Proved Rye cannot cope with RR. Have seen little improvement in Simon Lambert and his machinery seems sub standard for the PL let alone reserve berth in the EL. That said with the start to Jason Garrity's Rye House season Simon shouldn't be the lone scapegoat. Good to see Luke among the points away from home so far but we are relying too much on Kennett and Boxall
  12. The ruts were nowhere near as bad as many GP tracks especially the like of Cardiff where the only excitement surrounds when they will appear. Praise for the Organisers but not quite as much as Tapp and Crump suggested
  13. Quite unbelievable...some of the comments about a sixteen year old and his attitude stink. Perhaps some of the people making comments should look back at when they were sixteen. Just because he is an exceptional talent on a bike doesn't mean he will mature as quickly in other ways.
  14. Fortunate win for Peterborough simply because Somerset got their selection wrong. How long will Dryml last, seems only to be going through the motions.
  15. Coming up for this meeting as a neutral. Somerset look a decent team and should be good match. A close one but a home win i think and all three points. More needed from Dryml not particularly impressed by him so far and he needs to do more than in the two matches against the Rockets
  16. So rye house arrange a season opener against a local rival. Good plan considering Len Silver coughed up the money for a new airfence without going round with the begging bowl and was looking to get a decent crowd. Had we not used Kennett and Simon Lambert the team we would have tracked would have included R/R for Bunyan and Two guests. Season opener or not the crowd would have been well down. Completely unfair to the PL clubs who continually prop up their EL counterparts and enough is enough. This is a farce that will continue all season with the likes of Jason Garrity bought and paid for by Len Silver who then signs up with Coventry a Friday track with four PL clubs also running On Fridays two of which are also in the same PL Cup section. Irrespective of challenge matches that is a total of seven friday meetings for Garrity as we also have Somerset twice in the PL. Of course should we beat Glasgow in the cup there is a potential for more friday meetings to follow. A shambolic meeting at Eastbourne but hardly the fault of Len Silver who is rightly protecting his business
  17. I'll explain thenFirst rider i looked at who as a Rye House contracted rider i have an interest in is Jason Garrity. He is being used by Coventry, they are a Friday track and there happens to be FOUR friday tracks in the PL two of which are the same PL Cup group as Rye House. Looking at the fixture list four meetings clash so Coventry will be a rider short. They will target another rider that they will replace Garrity. Adam Ellis will be in exactly the same position with Lakeside / Ipswich. This I'm sure will be replicated at most clubs in the EL These Elite clubs will have a plan in place to replace riders where they know they will have riders unavailable. With Rye House they have three riders two of whom will ride for two clubs one will ride for three and for It to be suggested that these three miss Rye House meetings be they challenge meetings or not is ludicrous No EL Clubs may not have a group of eight or nine riders in team kevlars at their press day but they have a squad like it or not. I hope that helps your three times asked question
  18. Yes it did and i believe it is far less safe than the old fence. On the exit to the 2nd and 4th bend there is quite a drop down from the track, i hope no rider goes through or under it.
  19. Quite right too why as a Rye House supporter should i pay good money to watch riders who are primarily Rye House riders missing riding 70 miles down the road and watch a team using RR and two guests.EL teams operate a squad PL teams dont. I get fed up wil EL teams who are unable to field a side nicking PL riders. That is a challenge is irrelevant to me. Anyway shock horror a speedway rule has been ignored. Sorry Blackbird isn't riding as he is quite entertaining around Rye
  20. I have to laugh about Jason Garrity said they should blade it. Without taking sides jason has been riding how long? He is how old? His experience of track prep work is? If there is a debate about track prep and lets face it every rider, team manager and fan is an expert lets actually have some input from someone who has been there and done it for many years. I would suggest only Sandhu and Horton really know the truth about their agreement so i don't see how anyone can have real knowledge either way. Sadly this could be RIP Coventry Speedway which I'm sure even their most bitter rivals would agree is a great shame
  21. Well i have very little interest in these meetings much in the same way as Football pre season games are a waste of money. That said season opener at Rye so will be good to see how Bowen Garrity and Boxall go. Didn't think there was a great crowd at Ipswich last night and i doubt many will turn up for this fixture. A good yardstick for how we will go at home and looking at our side with some home track specialists i can't see anyone beating us at home, injuries allowing.
  22. A good win for the Witches but a point was there for the taking and Eddies heat one disaster set the trend for the eight point defecit from heat two to last almost all the meeting. Ironic that Hawkins scored well given we dumped him probably due to continual abuse aimed at him from many on here. Even given Lukes gradual improvement we were shown up at reserve and that was the main difference. Insert Bunyan back in the team and i think then the top five of Rye are better than the Witches top five with Tres, Boxall and Garrity all capable of dramatically improving on their starting averages. I like Simon Lambert but with Ben Morley improving all the time I'm not sure Simon is worth his place simply to bolster the team at half a dozen large away tracks. Was disapointed in what i saw from Tungate and Heeps they are surely both much better than last night. As for the Stadium great to see the continual improvements in the stadium just a shame you have to watch from so far away and through catch fencing and despite improvements the track still doesn't lend itself to top class racing.
  23. EL chose to have squads Pl don't so the right decision and thats why the PL is the best product and has been for several years. PL been propping up the EL for long enough.
  24. PL team use the riders doubling up, just as it should be irrespective of challenge etc. why should the Rye House attendance suffer as it surely would if Edward Kennett was riding at Eastbourne. The EL has chosen the squad system so thats what they have to use.
