Ok thats the home wins, but what about the aways wins, I remember Crewe winning at Scunthorpe 19-59 think it was a cup match in 1972?

What a superb event, great to meet up with so many friends including Steve H & Sarah, Mike B and Tracey, my ears are still tingling!

Malc Ballard?, still my number 1 Eastbourne rider, went from reserve in April to number 1, within afew weeks and England international, not one of the Kennetts favorite riders, though they get on fine now. Malc still lives near me (about a mile away) down here on the South coast.

I think so may questions from this excellent post need to be answered at the end of the day, we all want top racing, we all like to have our say and why not, we pay good hard earned money to watch it, but we dont ride the bikes. -
might just have to get one of these!

Saturday Uk Terrestrial Tv Speedway Round Up

We have been down this road so many times, however T2TV are working on it. We are getting more and more footage on TV every week, even during the close season as news becomes available. -
To be honest this is no different to a rider team riding and letting his partner get a maximum, it happens all the time and always has done. It's no different to another english rider letting a fellow english rider, get three points so he can get into a final?
-
Agree really but it has to be better than it is now, if we have to have tac sub at all.
-
Here goes then how about (as we are talking speedway), out goes the tac subs, golden double, black and white hats etc and in comes...... A team 8 or more behind, can nominate a rider from the other team to start 15 metres back for normal points, at least that way the team in fronts riders will have to chase and pass from behind, thus making a race of things, cant see the point of a team in front starting off the tapes, so why not make one of there riders start 15 metres back? Yeah I know it sounds stupid, but more chance of say Craig Boyce at the Island coming from behind than for example Josef Franc if he is 15 metres back, after all 9 x out of 10, it is the home riders who do the passing because of the vast amount of home advantage. Newcastle at the Island was a great example they scored just 23 points (had they been off the start and the Islanders 15 metres back they may have made 24!!! Only a thought.......

Maybe he was 88 when I interviewed him, mind you he was with it compared to many I have to interview these days! He gave me a couple of his Hastings pay slips, with the Hasting speedway header on the top, I still have them!

Exeter, Hull, Newcastle, Berwick, Glasgow, Isle of Wight and probably one or two more too, all in danger of dropping out of the Premier League due to cost or other reasons, add in Kings Lynn (going Elite?), along with maybe Sheffield and Reading and the premier League's future looks gloomy. Although with Birmingham and Middlesbrough added in it softens the blow slightly. The Elite continues to feather it's own nest whilst the others fight for survival So what is the Answer? Will standards be lowered even further, with these or some of these dropping to the Conference making that a better league and then renaming it to Premier? thus linking up with Weymouth, Mildenhall and maybe Wimbledon? Clearly dropping the averages will cut cost, but it will also cut class too, but eventually, as these riders who are bought in progress and become number 1's they will want more to meet their cost and demands and then we will be back to sqaure one. Maybe Arena will move into Plough lane and Arena drop down? who knows, but the time to start thinking is now, our sport isn't as rosey as some like to think. And then the likes of Buxton, Sittingbourne, Amadale being a training league? Should teams be limited to only 2 non-uk riders? Should we not have GP riders in the league as clearly it is being affected by riders, not being available, hence Oxford v Eastbourne , no Greg or Nicki (but same price to go in!!) Lets have you views, sensible ones please.
