  1. $200 000 for the indoor champion is an absolutely crap idea. Imagine what could happen on the last GP: 1. AJ wins the final meeting, gets the usual sum of money (which is not that great) 2. NP is world champion, gets the trofee and medal and nothing else 3. Indoor specialist wildcard John Doe wins the first indoor meeting as a wildcard and then consequently are invited back for the three others (which he wins) and gets $200 000 for his efforts. Crap. Money should be given to all the riders over the series or to the World Champion at the end of the year.
  2. They all signed to follow these rules that`s why Bomber had "to prove" himself in the run-off. Which in my view was only fair since he only scored 4 points on the night while Scotty had 8 and Holta 10. To be frank; it looked like Harris actually focused too much on getting into the semis and winning the grand prize instead of trying to get the 6-10 points he needed to be completely safe.
  3. Exactly. In my view it was the best decision from a referee for a long time. He made sure all three riders booked their place in GP 2008 which in my view was only fair.
  4. You hit the nail on the head here. They would have beaten those riders in England but nowhere else.
  5. The only way for a British team to do well in the Swedish EL is if they ride all their home matches at Wolverhampton.
  6. I wonder what would have happened if it was Nicki or Jason that was stopped from racing due to "medical advice".......I bet Ole would have pleaded their case.......and let them race.
  7. If you watch ANY Roadracing meeting on Eurosport they don`t miss anything, all incidents are filmed both in the pits and on track. And that is on a BIG widespread track! So why can`t speedway be the same???
  8. Hehe, quote of the day. You have 11 EL teams, Sweden have 10. Is that more evenly spread?
  9. Well they would not exactly be terrified of meeting Rory Schlein, Kim Jansson, Chris Louis, Zibi Sucheki, Robert Miskowiak, Marcin Rempala and Tobi Kroner or Daniel Nermark, Freddie Eriksson, Piotr Protasiewcz, Steve Johnston; Jesper B. Jensen, Ricky Kling and Lubos Tomicek. And before you go at me; yes I know Protasewicz is in both Indianerna and Oxford and yes I picked the two worst team you have in EL since you picked the worst one in Sweden. So do you think you league leaders Coventry (Nicholls, Janniro, Schlein, Burza, Harris, Allen, Smolinski) could beat Västervik (leaders in Sweden) (B. Pedersen, Harris, Gollob, Ulamek, Iversen, Forsberg, Chrzanowski)?? EDIT: Sorry HenryW, didn`t see your post before I posted mine.
  10. This year I have had the opportunity to watch every Grand Prix on SKY instead of SVT, DK4 or any other channel. Previous seasons I have slagged off the coverage on these other channels and I have been really looking forward to the SKY coverage. Boy am I disappointed. I was looking forward to great commentary, excellent coverage with multiple cameras and above all not missing any of the controversy on and off the track. What do I get? Very poor stuff! First of all; the commentaries is actually very good. I thoroughly enjoy Sam, Kelvin and Chris (and Billy tonight) and I think both the studio commentary and on track is very good. BUT they miss important things! No-one commented on Nicki riding heat 18 barely hanging onto the bike. No-one commented on him half lying over the bike after the finish line! Why? Are they blind? But the camera coverage is my concern! It is actually very poor! AFAIK SKY is the only network that has rights to film in the pits, so why don`t they film more in there? They miss all the drama, absolutely everything! Tonight there were a lot of incidents but we never got to see any of the action in the pits. Injuries is a part of speedway and to not be able to film that Crump was injured until he was actually lying on the "medical-bench" is a disgrace! None of us viewers did know that Nicki was in such a poor state that he could hardly ride a bike until he came into the pits after his next ride. On top of it all they missed the Gollob/Nicki "bust-up" completely and all we got to see was a short reply, that was it! How they managed to actually film the Jagus drama must have been pure luck. Drama is a part of speedway and if you want to make good TV you need to get everything on tape. I am sick of watching the stupid "gadget" where they show who won and who lost and then straight over to uneventful replays mainly of the riders leaving the gate when what we should see is the riders going down the back straight and coming into the pits. That is where the action is after a race! The coverage was poor tonight, it was a bit better in the first two GP`s but then again there was not so many incidents there. SKY; get a grip, this is just not good enough!
  11. Hampel has had big big engine problems this year. Holta is doing a LOT of testing on the new FGM engine and Gollob is slowly coming to grips. On top of that Jagus would have gotten into the semis tonight if the doctors would have let him ride.
  12. Well in Eskilstuna two of the riders not riding in England got into the semis. The two others was either injured or got injured as the meeting progressed and one has big engine problems. The Swedish league is the best in the world no doubt about it, any Swedish team would beat any British team any day and you know it. That`s why you British always keep nagging about how good your league is while the Nordic Vikings just keeps their mouth shut. Because we know.........
  13. Excellent stuff from Harris once again, but I can`t believe Nicholls being slagged off by his own countrymen on this forum!!! A poor start to the season yes, but he was second in the ending GP in Italy last year. For sure he is good enough to be in the GP`s. Quite frankly I think this year for the first time in the GP history they have the 15 best riders in the world participating. As soon as Lindback can get back to his true abilities IMO any rider in the field could get to the A-final. Track in Eskilstuna was pretty decent but very slick and an absolute disgrace for the semifinals.
  14. So maybe they could seed Aussies and Denmark and then USA, Poland, Sweden and Russia could battle for the final two spots then????
  15. Well the official Press Release has this line-up for the Aussie team: 13. Troy Batular !!!! 14. Chris Holder 15. Cory Cathacole !!!! 16. Robert Kzeizak !!!! 20. Trevor Harding I wonder if it was Johnno who sent the entry fax!!!!
  16. Schlein would be a good choice. BTW: It is not up to Middlo, he will be consulted but BSI/FIM/Ole will make the call
  17. Utter bull, a racing incident for sure, no ones fault. Jagus will never race in England.
  18. Sajfutdinov had a bad back injury early this year. Put him back a little. He is for sure one of the most exciting prospects our sport have seen for a long time me thinks. Was this meeting run at Rye House today or is it tomorrow?
