  3. Anyone know why Laguta did not ride? Still money disputes or is he injured?
  4. He is not Rune Holtas best mate either, even as a team mate (Miedzinski ruined his 2011 GP year when Rune destroyed both his hands in this crash): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVXITS41Xo8 And when Holta needed an operation on his shoulder after this 2012 crash: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vELkzWS4ixw
  5. I cannot understand referees in Poland. Miedzinski is clearly a danger both to himself and others and with a move like that he should be excluded from the rest of the meeting. Last year one of Czestochowas riders was excluded from the rest of the meeting after he deliberately laid his machine down when they were on the wrong end of a 1-5 but Miedsinzki is let off every time he does something stupid. Don`t they have red and yellow cards in speedway in Poland?
  6. I bet you Loktaew does not speak Norwegian.....or English for that sake :-)
  7. Having worked with Rune since he was an 80ccm rider I should know him well enough to give a statement. To be frank I both agree and disagree with you Spook. Compared to Gollob, Emil and Crumps superior bike control Rune can`t compete. Compared to Gregs gating Rune will lose out 9 out of 10 times. BUT riders have different styles and different ways of making their way up the ladder in the speedway world. First of all, Rune has always been very thorough with his bikes. Back in the ISMS days we would get up in the morning to ready the bikes and we were always first in the pits and last back home. He never lets anything be half done. But to say that the reason he has been a Grand Prix rider for all these (Rune has been given ONE permanent wildcard in his career) years is completely wrong. If it was only his bikes giving him the advantage then I wonder why he didn`t stay inside the top eight this season as well. And to the guy that hinted that Runes bikes have been suspectible fast........s**d off......he has never had bikes that were over the limit and while most other riders started tampering with the silencer in the beginning of this season (yes, did you really think Kennet and Kasprzak were the only ones???) Rune tested even more WITHOUT cheating! Second, different styles suits different riders. I agree with Spook the Rune might not have the bike control that some of the other top riders have but if he gets out in front no-one can ever catch him, no matter bike control. His style is effective and suits his kind of racing. If you look back a couple of years you will see Rune always hanging sideways on the bike Mark Loram style hauting the outside for grip but the latter years that didn`t prove effective and he tried to change his style. Now he can hugh both the inside and the outside but he lacks a bit of feel for what goes on in the first corner, I agree to that, and we are working on that part. Last; one thing I am quite convinced of, if Rune could gate like Greg Hancock he would have been world champion years ago. To compare (and no disrespect to Greg), Greg is nowhere near Rune when it comes to pass riders from the back, but if Rune could have had Gregs gating........oh my God....... To finish off, remember that Rune was top of the averages in Sweden last year........for the whole season he was the best rider in one of the hardest leagues in the world.........and he was 4th in the world! You can`t do that without a little bit of talent :-)
  8. Agree. Totally stupid exclusion. The referee was poor all night letting the tape go at the same time all day. If he had only held it a bit longer for one race early on the riders would have stood still the rest of the meeting. Of course they will move when they know the tape will go up early. But the exclusion of Jepsen Jensen was absolutely appaling.
  9. Ahh, 12.50 UK time...that will be in 10 minutes me recons :-)
  10. Sola has had a knee operation and Raugstad are having final exams at school. When it comes to the two divisions and speedway "picking up" in Norway that is a load of crap. The second division has been started mainly for the Old Boys riders and the second halves riders to have somewhere to compete. In my view the league is absolutely crap and dangerous for the young riders who are just starting their career (the old guys make the gate but can`t hang on to the bike for more than a lap or two, the younger guys catch up and dangerous situations starts to enfold). To say that we have a lot of recruitment in Norway is utterly wrong, so far this year 8 riders have participated in the 85 ccm Norwegian Cup (from 2-3 clubs) and I can`t see any of those riders barking up any tree in the future (but the beforementioned Glenn Moi has excellent backing and equipment and also Lasse Fredriksen and Espen Sundvor has potential). Why Oslo have two teams in the second division beats me too, the fact is that it is always the Oslo management who say that speedway is soooo good in Norway and during winter time they always declare that they have a lot of riders but when the seasons starts the oposite always apply. I think they have entered two teams in the second division because most of their riders are Old Boys guys. On top of that Oslo have NO 85 ccm riders this year. For the records; with the right backing Thomas Gunnestad could be the next good speedway rider coming out of Norway, he sure as he** has got the talent.
  11. Now who is Phillip Tirsdal and where did he come from?
  12. Yes I remember Ullevi, but that was/is a one-off track not a permanent one.
  13. >And let’s not lose sight of the fact that Emil Sayfutdinov had no >complaints about the track in Krsko. As Barry Briggs – in my humble >opinion among the greatest motorcycle riders ever – said: “Emil can >see racing lines others cannot, he used the ruts to get grip, he is a >fantastic talent and the only one who actually rode properly all night.” Barry is correct, Emil is an exceptional talent, but Mr. Briggo can`t have been watching the same meeting as Rune Holta was leading the final by a mile when Gollob fell and I bet ya if Holta had won the gate in the run-off Emil wouldn`t have had a chance......talking about who was the only one riding properly all night......... On another note, the tracks do not need to be slick to get good racing, but they MUST be even. The problem seems to be that if you make a track with a bit of dirt on it you get holes, if you make it slick you make it a gaters track with no racing lines. BUT, and this is adressed to BSI/IMG/Phillip Rising, they make tracks WITH tracktion and WITHOUT holes EVERY week in Sweden and Poland. EVERY week! I have watched most of the Swedish EL matches on TV this year and there is rarely a hole, but still there are different lines to race and guys like Jonsson, Crump and Pedersen do a lot of passing when behind. WHY ARE YOU NOT LEARNING FROM THE BEST? Why aren`t you touring Sweden during a season, connecting with various track curators, talking to people, and make a professional track team that you can bring to the GP`s? And for crying out load, leave the locals to do the Bydgodszcz track. It`s the best track in the world when prepared correctly. Also; you need to change the format. People are tired of looking at the same 16 riders week in and week out. There should be some kind of qualifiers before each GP to get some new faces in there for every meeting. One wildcard to please the locals is not enough.
  14. BTW: This youtube link has much better quality: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YM4QDCl0g0 Here is the other serious crash between Balinski and Zabik, that one also causing Zabik a head-injury: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdmUcM6Pdz0
  15. Strange crash and I am not sure what to make of it. Zabik always seems to end up in the rough end of things when he races Balinski. Unfortunately I have always seen Balinski being a very dangerous rider. Have watched a lot of meetings with this guy involved over the years and while always being a nice guy in Sweden he seems to loose it in Poland. His speciality is to turn left on the straights causing VERY dangerous situations at times. This incident could have been avoided if Balinski had cut back instead of continue to try on the outside. He could see Zabik coming a mile away and even though there were room Balinski tried to lean on Zabik which in my view caused the crash. BUT Zabik was ruthless as well he didn`t have to close that hole so fiercly..... As I said strange one....... But speedy recovery to both riders!
  16. It will be compulsorary from 2012 for every track......

  18. So maybe Adams should think about a request to absorb Holder into his team as his replacement? BTW: It is not THAT easy to get into a Formula One team. You have to build a massive sponsorship package to even get considered.
  19. It is always hard to face up to the truth mate ;-)
