No I was hoping it was not Troy reading some posts earlier. He is well past his best and former he certainly is. Hard to work with to going of a few past clubs stories so with our young novice team manager who has only looked after the kids team. He gonna have his work cut out looking after the young lads our female rider then Cooke and Troy. Very strange signing will win heats when he Gates but if not will be just taking the piss at the back.

Great move for equality and promotion but sadly that's about it on her riding ability. Her averages and times in the meetings and track time she has had are nothing good at all and if she was a he more questions would be asked signing a rider on a 4 point average where here past experience shows nothing of reaching that at all.
-
Can not understand anyone wating Vissing yeah great guy but is he going to improve now ? No move on like they have with the last two riders signed who have loads of potential. And as for anyone mentioning Roynon have you seen him ride the last couple of years ? Obviously not.

Shame about the clubs lack of social media information. Heard nothing for weeks and the fans are getting worried. I think with the low points limit the riders know they are needed and this makes for higher wages as they negotiate high wages against different clubs. Hope the business plan for the Comets can sustain this massive jump to championship level money.

Really hoping they manage to get a half decent team just for Andrew having the balls to take Workington up. A team in the championship getting beat at home like the comets last season won't keep the crowds to a level to cover his costs.

I totally agree with you but if you work Saturdays like me it's near impossible to go. 5pm would help. And when say Reds or rugby I'm actually thinking of the promotion why compete with anything I know quite a few people who watch both the reds and Speedway. What Andrew and his helpers have done is fantastic I'm not knocking in any way at all far from it. I just would not run at 3pm on a Saturday.
-
Really disappointed they are running on a Saturday at 3pm again. So many fans work Saturdays and can not make most of the meetings myself included. Understand they have no lights but even a 5pm start time would help more people be able to attend. Also there will be more fixtures next season so more clashes with Reds matches and local Rugby League. There must be some positive reason other than for fans to be able to enjoy a pint because its a Saturday to run on a Saturday at 3pm.

I really hope we hear positive news of this cameraman that's been injured. For anyone there did this happen in the 2m zone from track fence to spectator fence ? Someone mentioned earlier about H&S getting involved but speedway already has a rule of a 2m zone from track fence to spectators and I'm not sure anyone is exempt from entering this area even though you do see people mainly photographers in this zone. Fingers crossed for good positive news -
Nice to see a track with some dirt on

I did wonder how they could run with crowds as low as it looks. I know Mondays no the best night to travel. Things ok then if you been getting over 2000
-
How do the promotion pay these riders with crowds as small as this ? Very sad to see crowds like like condsidering the riders on show. Is this because its on TV or is this the sort of crowds Ipswich get regularly ?
-
Holder 100% should have been out there. No one knocked him off he laid it down. Then ref gave him ages to get ready. Justice in the rerun

They were no where near 1000

Hard one this new club is there a lack of fixtures to get fans back to regular racing ? Every two weeks would work as routine but if them nights are rain offs going weeks without speedway its hard to keep a srong fan base. Totally understand clubs with senior teams thinking this is enough but for a new team like Workington hope fitting in extra meetings can work for them.

Totally agree I'm not being in any way negative I'm deligted speedway is returning but I also want it to be really successfull and stay running. My opinions are only my own and it's just a buisness reason I give them as I will be able to attend most meetings unless I'm away, I just do not see a Saturday as the best buissnes decision here. Far to much else going on esspesially speedway on TV and I've alway thought this even when the Comets had decent crowds I alway thought they would be more on a Friday or Sunday night given a long enough run at it to get the regulars adjusted to it. A fresh start they are no regulars to get adjusted.
-
Totally understand the thoughts both ways but unfortunately speedway does not pull in young fans like it used to no more unless parents drag them there away from there playstations. Other clubs run midweek without a problem so a Friday or Sunday would be better than Saturday, like I say speedway with the amount of GP's now the speedway of nations and the Euro Champs all on a Saturday on TV fans will stay at home and watch speedway esspesially if the weather is poor. People attending weddings or party's even going away for a night its generally always a Saturday so why go against all that without a need to. Because Workington have always ran on a Saturday does not mean its still the right night. Me personally im just glad speedway is returning so whenever it runs i'll be there but I know other that won't attend regurally, my thoughts were if it were my buisness I would definately move away from a Saturday as I think more fans would attend which will be better for the club. And as for running on a Saturday afternoon that would be a huge mistake, Reds getting much better crowds (depends on how much their seasons overlap) than Town were so it would be Sundays at a worst case for me.
-
Yeah i've read through the posts and all similar to the reasons previously but the times they have change race night its not a true reflection on what a steady race night would be say on a Sunday or Friday just a simple opinion on why I do not think a Saturday goes against speedway to get the best attendance posible. It also is affected if people are away for the weekend so Friday or Sunday to me are a no brainer, if it were my buissness i'd never consider a Saturday at all for speedway. I understand at this level it must be weekends due to age of the lads riding as midweek would be difficult.
-
Having speedway back is great to look forward to but just reading the posts looking like they are sticking to Saturday's. Never understood the reason to run on a Saturday night as to much else going on espessially all the speedway on TV on Saturdays now. It does not keep much keeping speedway fans away if it's on TV to for them to get there fix. I would not consider the rugby at all and would either run on Friday or Sunday as I think running reguarly on either would get a better crowd than a Saturday night. Hope it's a huge sucess after all the cost, work and effort put into this project.

Thanks for that information

What's the rule for Polish teams building teams ? Wroclaw so strong now keeping same team. Torun building a strong side then very strange Leszno replacing the departed Sayfutdinov with Bellego !!!! Seams a strange move that considering who could have been available

We were a party of 12 going out tomorrow morning but only four of us able to go that can isolate for 14 days on return. Gonna be a very empty plane this.

Just looked at tickets available for Friday GP are now at over 9000 available !!!! How is that possible ? They only had 7000 available when they first went on sale.
