Berwick ‘buy a brick’ Bandits 2025
H20 replied to emilali's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Thing is teams don't usually register there teams until quite late to the SCB incase of any changes. So wether he is withholding his services or not it's very unlikely Berwick would get any facility. Quite a few Workington fans were very disappointed when Workington decided not to sign him for 2025 but there were reasons behind that and this is showing one of the reasons why they opted to go without there 2024 captain. -

To be honest he did not deserve a chance this season, he let Workington down badly last season not showing up at Redcar plus pulling out of the Ben Fund when nothing up with him. Stuart took a gamble on him for some reason but that's his chances for a team place surely over now. -

Sorry to say your gonna need a new rider, he is just not committed no more to speedway but uses his mental health issues at the drop of a hat. To be honest if he does have issues as bad as he makes out should he really be riding a speedway bike professionally ? He has let Leicester down massively today and with the same team manager can not see him riding for him at Berwick. You will be better off without him as even if he did actually turn up for your press day he will let you down this season at some point just like he did at Workington last year. -
Cook been no where near a bike again all winter just like last year. Only showed up at Workington press day last minute with the promotion not even knowing if he was coming. Let Workington down big style last season not turning up at Redcar and not even informing anyone he was not going to be there, bar his mechanic who went to watch and told the promotion he was not coming. Previously massive disregard to the Ben Fund meeting pulling out due to a bad back, after he must have been well backed by this fund for his aid.
-
We will see how you get on with Cook next season first before that comment about Jye. Hopefully he turns up to every meeeting for you that would be a good start.

Stewart has had him at Leicester last season so he knows what he is getting, only trouble is that in the Premiership now he is a reserve with not much say but number 1 in Championship where he has alot more say plus responsibility as he will be No1. Keep his head in it and interested in speedway great he is still a fantastic rider but for the last few years he has gone missing at certain points through the seasons and certainly let Workington and himself down with a few no shows last season. -
Totally agree with your views,he was out of order that night and the fans and promotion deserved better, He also pulled out of the Ben Fund meeting and never even bothered to even show up. Craig says in his statement without injuries we could have made the final, we were never going to beat that Poole team so the team managed without him at the end of the season just fine with decent guests. Great rider when his head is in it but every season at some point he goes missing which is fustrating for the fans and promotion. Berwick the latest club to give him a go next.

Workington Comets V Berwick Bandits 11/08/24 3pm

Think there is more to this than is out there. Hearing different cracks. -
Celina can certainly ride the bike it's her gating it's terrible she goes up rather than forward most races. Then keeps pace generally with the others. Sam has no confidence no point carrying him give someone else a go.
-
Max Perry dropped from Poole will beat Sam easily and Celina
-
Reserves failed yet again for Workington changes have to be made, look at Poole doing well but ruthless when it comes to replacing riders. Comets rightly so stuck with the team in the NDL last year but this is different Sam has to be dropped he is riding terrible and looks the worst rider in the league. Junior riders coming in and beating him easily. Celina to not been good enough her 4pt average must have dropped alarmingly and won't go back up. If Workington had just one half decent reserve they were in for a shout this season but not with these two.

Workington v Edinburgh 18/05/24 3pm championship

Just noticed Pickering pulled out of Edinburgh meeting tonight after a fall. -
Imagine if Workington had one reserve scoring ? These two are unfortunately gonna keep dragging the team down. Brilliant top 5 everyone doing more than there bit.

Is Celina riding in this meeting or have Workington a guest -
Glasgow v Workington - league - 3 May @ 7.30pm
H20 replied to SharpenRake's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
That was tough to take in the end, we riding with two reserves holding us back every week (sorry but it's true). Ht1 decision to exclude Cook was an awful decision from the ref and Harris as well as he rode only got a max because of Tate's engine failure on 4th turn last lap. Well done Comets very unlucky tonight. -

Could Redcar not have used IRR in heat 13 ? -

What ? It looks a gentle breeze 14ºC in Workington right now blue sky and yes it's windy but not strong winds, this is a strange call off. -

Can not understand this call off looking at a few forecasts. Think the promotion were just looking at headlines 70mph winds. Workington forecast was 30mph winds with possible 50mph gusts. Not much rain forecast either. They did the same with the BenFund meeting called that off early and weather was absolutely fine on the day. 30mph wind in Cumbria is the norm. -
Berwick VS Workington - Border Trophy - 30/03
H20 replied to BackstaightBandit's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Why are people complaining about the track when a young reserve Freddie got out there in the dirt line and passed way more experienced riders. Cooke fell on his own. Nothing wrong with that track at all, the comets riders just stuck to the inside line far to much, my only complaint was heat 3 that was a shocking decision. I'm a comets fan to. -

There was not many positives to take from that performance was there. Berwick moved out from the white line where the Comets riders bar Vissing were not interested in going out there. Heat 3 mind needs noted Comets on a 5-1 and stopped because Berwick rider had not cleared the track, staning on fate one !!!! He should have been fined for that. -
I'm more concerned about our number 1 been nowhere near Northside since November when he make all that noise about "Not finished yet". Unfortunately it's looking like he is. The highlight for me this season was going to see Craig our number 1 and local lad smash all these visiting number 1's just like Stoney used to do. Fingers crossed the stories going around are wrong.
-
Hope your right but one clear printing error in that article is putting in laps around Northside, apparently he not been anywhere near Northside for quite a long time and not there today either for practice.
-
Has anyone been down the track for any of the practice sessions lately ? Not heard once that Craig Cooke has been down at all practicing. This time of year his social is generally full of him getting ready for the new season, this season absolutely nothing. He not in any of the Testimonial meetings either. 7th rider signing up might not be the only problem Workington have.
-
The Ben Fund also take into account taking the first meeting off the holding promotion. They guaranteed a big crowd so maybe good idea not including any Comets leave them for our first meeting.
