Stuart Robson is a solid rider both home and away. From the team I have picked, there would be improvement elsewhere imo. MD makes a valid point, he has consistently outshone Lawson and Summers around Ashfield this year. He is box office when it comes to overtaking around Ashfield too. Another option could be a return for Rene Bach?

With our owner living in Denmark, could it be from a Danish club?

Pretty sure that Cory has retired from the sport.

Hats off to the Comets. That is some team. Didnt see Josh going there, happy to be proved wrong. He is gonna take some stopping around DP next season.

Nice to see you finally admitting that your the wee team in Scotland ekimba

North only signed for Glasgow last season because his rides in Poland finished early. Very unlikely we will see him back as he will base himself down south again next season, for either Elite or Premier. Whole heartedly agree with nagy1, no Bager please. Way too inconsistent both home and away, apart from Thomsen, Ringwood/Jacobs. I wouldnt bring back any of last years team. We finished rock bottom of the league for a reason remember. We need a fresh start.

Jorgensen immediately jumped to my mind as any time Scunthorpe have came to Glasgow in the last few years, he has always beat Joe Screen at least once, usually in heat 1 too! A year away from Scunthorpe would do him the world of good imo. Seems to be stagnating there, still a very talented young rider too. I would like to think we have learnt our lesson regarding Berwick. We shouldn't be conducting any transfer business with them at all imo. Personally I would love Anders to start at reserve, we saw what he was capable of last season on decent equipment. Imagine that next season from reserve and with the ability to take 7 rides? Breath taking stuff, he would more than hold his own in the main body too I think. Magnus has shown he can beat anyone around Ashfield, he was nigh on untouchable around there last time. He really upped his game in the latter half of last season, coupled with him riding in the big league in Sweden, think this has given him a new lease of life. He aint too shabby around the Dale either Theo, what can you say? Rides Ashfield as good as anyone now. Firm fan favourite and league winning Tigers legend. Definite for me. Doolan as I said in a previous post is the consumate team man who is exactly the kind of presence a team needs in the pits to help the younger riders out. I think if we were to see a Doolan/Ringwood combo ... we would really see Joey flourish.

So now that we are confirmed as racing in 2014 and we know the points limit can we get back on track with silly season Tigers fans? With Leicester moving up to the Elite League, I think Glasgow have a good opportunity to nab some riders from them that have proved very handy around Ashfield in the past. How about this? 1. Magnus Karlsson 8.40 2. Assessed 5.00 rider 3. Kevin Doolan 7.51 4. Thomas Jorgensen 6.15 5. Theo Pijper 7.70 6. Anders Thomsen 4.11 7. Joe Jacobs / Joey Ringwood 3.53/3.56

Wouldn't touch Eklof tbh, To me, its as if he doesn't seem to have an interest in Premier League racing unless its with a "big team" like Kings Lynn or Leicester or somewhere convenient for flights. His scores have been inconsistent too. Dont know if I would have Ringwood back either, its either gate and win, or nothing with him. He was billed as a racer at the start of the season, but not seen anything to back that claim up. Started off in a blaze of glory with an impressive win at Armadale and some good performances at Ashfield. Just dont know if one too many injuries this year has wrecked his confidence. Hearing rumours that he may not be back in Britain at all next year as he has a very good job offer back in Aus. Time will tell. Hope the guy proves me wrong, as he has the style and when on form, gating, to be a successful rider. Theo? what can you say. League winner with the Tigers in 2011. A firm favourite with the fans, and a brilliant rider around Ashfield and Armadale. Perfect. Would love Doolan back in the team (10 years later albeit), ultimate team man, and is nigh on unbeatable around Ashfield on his day. Nilsson is a rider who Glasgow have tried to sign before. However since his move into the Elite League, I am wondering if he would consider a doubling up role, his form for Eastbourne towards the end of the season was impressive, just a slight doubt if he would convert that into Premier League form.

Could Kevin Wolbert come back into Edinburgh's plans? handy average to rebuild a team around. Exceptional around the Dale too.

From this years team, I would only keep Anders Thomsen and Joe Jacobs. Anders has showed that on good equipment that he can be a real trump card from anywhere in the team, so to have him at reserve for next season is a real bonus. He isnt afraid to ride the fence and race either, bargain average for next year. Wee Joe has shown glimpses of his potential this year, need to remember that he was still seeing alot of the tracks for the first time this year, on his average, he is only going to improve. He is young, British, ambitious and has shown real commitment to Glasgow. Would definitely have him back. We have a real task in replacing two heat leaders next year, and getting a middle order that is going to improve and remain consistent. Like others have said, I wouldn't have Henning back. Far too inconsistent. Dakota wont be back as this deal only came about after his rides in Poland finished. Would imagine he will be back down south next season if he is the PL, although I can see him probably going EL full time again with the Panthers. So where does that leave us for the rest of the team? As much as I read people say "no more assessed riders", if you do your homework like every other team in the country seems to do, then you can get some good riders on assessed averages. At the end of the day, we are a selling club, and we need to keep our asset base stocked up, especially after selling on 3 assets in the last year. Its true that we do need tried and tested riders that can ride our track and can offer up some entertainment, but I also like to watch talent develop in front of my eyes each week. Trying to be totally realistic about the kind of riders we would be able to attract to Glasgow, I would like to see something along the lines of this (assuming the points limit remains the same) 1. Kim Nilsson 8.72 2. Dimitri Berge 5.00 3. Robin Aspegren 6.39 4. Kevin Doolan 7.51 5. Theo Pijper 7.70 6. Joe Jacobs 3.47 7. Anders Thomsen 3.53

Glasgow Sign Dakota North
Van Helsing replied to Van Helsing's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Because at the end of the day, we have lost 11 or 12 on the trot, to bring in another assessed rider as well as Anders, would be madness. We still need to try and win matches this season and bring people through the door. Regardless of our heatleaders (which I would be inclined to agree with your opinion about them), to bring in a proven performer at PL level like Dakota makes sense to try and get some points on the board and not make this season an absolute abject failure. -
http://www.glasgowtigers.co/?p=2537 Great signing for us.

Would rather have James Wright at number 4 instead of Bager, purely for heat 14 to give us as strong a possible finish in the final 3 heats.
