Under 21 Results From Tamworth Nsw
AX Racing Team replied to AX Racing Team's topic in International World of Speedway
As far as I know Chris Holder wants to finish his education/apprenticeship so doesnt look likely to come over for te U-21. But maybe winning this will make him think again. Looks as if Woodward and Doyle will end up in European rounds - but I got told Doyle prob wouldnt afford to be able to contend such an event involving so much travel. So then any places would go to who ever is over here and who Streety picks. -

This is only his 2nd meeting since returning from injury. Surprised to see Karlis not qualifying, getting too much sun Out of interest, who deceided what riders could go straight through to final? FINAL (Saturday) 1. Scott James 2. Troy Batchelor 3. Chris Holder 4. Cory Gathercole 5. Rory Schlein 6. Jason Doyle 7. Robert Ksiesak 8. James Holder 9. Tom Hedley 10. Cameron Woodward 11. Trevor Harding Reserves: Karlis Ezergailis dont know who won 3 rider run off for other reserve spot I really wouldnt want to put a wager on this one. This line up looks so much better than last year. Although Rory has to be favorite, IMO there are riders in this years line up capable of giving him some pressure. It's going to be a good one Will be interesting to see how Jason Doyle does now he's on his way to the IOW

1st Schlein 2nd Doolan 3rd Ksiezak 4th Gathercole Weathers, Woodward & T. Hedley were next best. Ksiezak racing with a bit of fight in his system. Schlien blitzed all of them easy. Corey Gathercole is coming on in leaps and bounds but doesnt have any patriality but can get a working holiday visa. Scott Blackwell raced from the Uk. Slid off and limped away and didnt take any further part. A lot of people were disappointed as they thought Adams and Parker would be racing

Australian 500cc Solo Titles Rd 3 Updates
AX Racing Team replied to a topic in International World of Speedway
Sorry to hear that. Also i find a glaring omission from the card for this round is that of Joel Parsons. Considering his recent good form around S.A. including beating Chris Ferguson in some meeting he must felt hard done by. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes you are quite right. The reason Chris is in the line up is what you might call 'policitcal' within speedway. A few things happened here in England and lets just say he never even entered for the Aussie titles whereas Joel and Karlis did. But his promoter in Oz, whom he bragged how good he was in the UK CL amongst other things about certain goings on in the UK felt sorry for him. His promoter Brendon Gledhill, from Mildura is a board member for the Motorcycling Australia -do I need to say more. Gledhill has a good heart and has done his upmost for the sport and would take someone as genuine. Chris' results have more than shown that he shouldnt have been there and Gledhill will feel a little red faced now.He hasnt even managed to match Cam, Matthew, Ashley etc Even Robert Kieszak who won all the support races didnt get a look in for the Gillman round when Ford and Tom did. You come to realise in speedway that sometimes it's who you know not what you know. Always a shame for the sport and the supporters because then they dont get to see the best of the racers. -

Adam Allott had his spleen removed after crash at newcastle other day right? He's sitting in a chair with a few cans of cider, must be feeling ok then? -
Chris Holder IMO is very good but is stuck with a work permit for UK right? AXRacingTeam.co.uk AndreCross.co.uk JessieLamb.co.uk The Ginger Ninja chief mechanic

Trust me Jess - you wouldn't beat him now! Won all the support races at Gosford last Wednesday with the likes of Jay Herne well behind him. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sorry Bryn this isnt Jess axracingteam.co.uk

Must admit I know Troy's sponsors in UK and they said he was off to Kings Lynn. I saw Jason Doyle race in 2002 so I dont know how much he's improved over last 18mths. I beat him when we raced and Im no more than CL reserve standard. If he is off to IOW then Boycey really must have pushed to get him in there. He's a nice lad with good attitude but PL, hmm

Might want to have a look at this link: This season Jason Doyle is riding a rolling chassis acquired from Leigh Adams (writes Peter White). The Novocastrian Solo prospect will be signed by Premier League (Second Division) Isle of Wight, who have a strong bond with Elite League Poole, if he performs strongly on Aussie tracks this summer. link is: http://www.peterwhitesspeedwayworld.com/trakyak.html

SOUTH AUSTRALIAN SOLO TITLES
AX Racing Team replied to cablehogue4671's topic in International World of Speedway
Schlein was unbeaten all night, except for 2 engine failures so was lucky to even make final. Parsons rode well but fell off 3 times, twice whilst leading in qualifying rounds, so was lucky to make final. -

Karlis has just reported that he is the 2004 Tasmanian Champion. 2nd Tye Procter 3rd Ashley Jones 4thMark Jones 5th Cory Gathercole Tasmanian Championship featured mainly Victorian riders. I dont actually know if there were any Tazzie riders Karlis reports it was a tough final. He led from the start but then both the Jones brothers started to come around him and unfortunately crashed into one another. He said it was scary watching the high speed crash.Mark Jones was unable to take any further part in the re run. Should be a few photos soon floating about Kevin Doolan won the 20th Nov open meeting at Gillman, Matthew Weathers inflicting his only defeat. Robert Kieszak looking good again. Gillman Speedway Opening Night
AX Racing Team replied to AX Racing Team's topic in International World of Speedway
This was said to me and was posted on another forum. I was told by Robert Ksiezak that it was Matt Jones who was 2nd. But now been told it was Mark Jones. I did wonder how Matt was racing as he told me he was off to the UK as he had to attend a Jawa confernce in Czech this week or next. So apologies to Mark Jones if it was him that was indeed 2nd According to Sadler he doesnt have any plans to return to Uk just yet or race in the Australian titles The 2005 season kicked off at Gillman on Saturday night with solos, sidecars and classic tq’s. 16 riders nominated however 3 withdrew prior to the meeting and 1 during the meeting reducing the field to 12 riders. While not the best track seen at Gillman with grooves appearing in the turns causing some riders to lift there were no major incidents on the night with some major passes creating excitement. The track held up reasonably well considering the amount of rain in the 3 days previously. If not for the work put into the track during the off season the rain could possible have done more damage. Unfortunately there was not a large crowd but again the rain and cold weather in the lead up to the opening night would have been a big factor. Highlights of the night were the domination of the solo ranks by Nigel Sadler. This was apparently a one-off ride for Nigel who was testing a new GM engine for Kevin Doolan. Contrary to other reports Nigel still does not have any plans to return to the UK and does not think he will competing on a regular basis at Gillman during this season. It was good to see young Arlo Bugeja back in the saddle and putting in a creditable performance. Arlo has been unable to compete until the last meeting of the winter season after having the rod removed from his femur. Arlo had to have the rod inserted after he broke his femur in a seemingly gentle fall last season. The Jones boys travelled over from the NSW/Vic border for the meeting as well with both Ashley and Mark putting in sterling performances. Both boys looked to have changed to GM’s this season. Good to see Scott Blackwell back in the ranks this year. Scott is a UK conference league rider who now calls Australia home. Other riders competing on the night were Ford Keane, Tyron Proctor (Vic), Robert Ksiezak (who if reports are correct will be off to the UK next season - a promising signing), Aaron Summers, Ashley Watson, Harley Liersch and Karlis Ezergalis (Vic-recently returned from riding in the UK). Final placings were – Sadler, Jones (Mark), Jones (Ashley-after a couple of very good saves when the bike lifted in the turns) and Ksiezak. In the sidecars Mick Headland looked to have the measure all night until the final when Mark Plaistead put in his best performance of the night. Mick Headland took second place with ‘the prince of port’ Ronnie Parker taking third. The next meeting at Gillman is November 20th – solos and sidecars Major events coming up at Gillman include the SA Solo Championships – 18/12/04 And Round 3 of the Aust. Solo Championships – 5/1/05 (Wednesday night) -
Gillman Speedway Opening Night
AX Racing Team replied to AX Racing Team's topic in International World of Speedway
For those of you who have been following Karlis Ezergailis' progress he raced in this meeting at Gillman. He would rather not talk about it and says he had a'nightmare'. Track was rutty and he threw a chain more than once by sounds of it.Other bike probs too. He did win a race. After a 8hour drive up from his home in Victoria and leaving straight after meeting and getting home at 5am the next day he was pretty disapointed. Wont let the cat out of the bag on this one but I wouldnt believe all that you read about newport signings -
People will be pleased to hear that Nigel Sadler from South Australia won Gillmans open night speedway meeting. Says he was just testing an engine for Kevin Doolan and has no equipment or intentions of racing in Uk or more except the odd Gillman meeting. His pacemaker and diffibrulator wouldnt suit full time racing 2nd Matt Jones VIC apparently is Mark Jones now 3rd Ashley Jones NSW 4th Robert Ksiezak SA Robert crashed in final, says he's ok just track was a bit too rutty in final after couple days of rain in Adelaide. The riders were lifting when they hit the ruts. He's looking forward to getting to the UK next year having signed a contract with Edinburgh.

I have a fixture list for Gillman speedway in South Australia. Wondering if anyone had the dates for open meetings at Broadford (Vic) or Mildura (Vic) or any Victorian tracks
