  1. Unlike another Frenchman, he is a Glasgow asset. Only rode 9 matches so couldnt really count him as a success, although he showed enough to be one
  2. I take it we couldn't get a guest for Sunday so opted for Konopka instead!! I take it Graverson or Perry are elsewhere . I suspect we will struggle in this one with effectively a 5 man team. Although Jacobs may also be missing and will be interesting who Worky get to replace him
  3. Another one of these made up European championships. Looks like a home defeat against one of the worse teams in the league. Even Rye House's NL riders are more than likely going to out score our two looking at their respective averages. If Aarnio rides like he did last week 40 might be a good score
  4. Unfortunately the BBC forecast is for rain at 3 pm and 4pm!!! A problem we've suffered all season!!!
  5. May not help them much on Saturday if both of their reserves are missing, although Fricke will be missing for Edinburgh
  6. Not sure how a rider dropping down a league is calculated. It may be that his scores this season are replacing his Belle Vue ones from 2013, hence the slight increase if he had a bad start to last year.
  7. New averages already out!! The ones used in the race card today are the new ones. Only Berge is subject to 4h 4a. Our overall average is 41.49 so if we're allowed to replace Berge we would have 6.01 to play with. Weirdly Wolbert's average has increased by 0.02 !!!!
  8. Hyde Rd, Powderhall, Shawfield and Bradford
  9. So any rider who gets transferred and the VISA has to be amended has got no chance, which may explain Davies
  10. He HAS re-signed as per our official press release today. As there is still a number of riders available we can be careful who we choose and it should be a promoters market for once!!
  11. It's possible Pijper may have had an influence in the Berge signing. He was instrumental in Bellego signing in 2011
  12. Rye House again!!! Tigers can't do any worse than last season surely?
  13. They are going to use the same system as the EL used, each team nominates 3 opponents and the extra fixtures are worked out from there. Last season was a joke considering Glasgow didn't even run enough matches to cover the season ticket cost!! And we had a few filler matches at that. Some teams had so many gaps that they were running twice a month. The fours won't be back as the southern promoters lost money. The experiment in 2011 if it had been thought through better was a good compromise so I suppose this latest version of it is fine.
  14. With the EL now guaranteeing more matches, Cook could go full time and if truth be told, he should be, if he wants some sort of career progression. Either way Edinburgh could retain Pijper(which makes more sense than using masters) as he's their rider
  15. I have the feeling Pijper will stay at Edinburgh(they can actually retain 5 of last years side, 6 if Davey was one of their reserves), especially if Cook were to leave, which isnt guaranteed obviously. Kevin Doolan would be a good signing, whilst I feel we could retain 3 or 4 from last season. 1 R Fisher 9.52 2 H Bager 5.30 3 K Doolan 7.51 4 J Garrity 5.45 5 D North 6.55 6 A Thomsen 4.11 7 J Ringwood 3.56=42.00 Of course if we have no money, Fisher wont be anywhere near us!!
  16. The Edinburgh one lap dashes was Devil tak the hindmost. I think it got banned ( surprise surprise) because it had more than 4 riders starting from the gate
  17. Polish riders can ride in the PL with a UK licence like Rajkowski last season The quote about the GP rider is just a rehash of what Alun Biggart mentioned on Sunday, so it isnt new or others talking out of turn. I actually don't think its Raun as I can't see what would hold up his signing. In fact it seemed to be a Swede that was suggested.
  18. Not necessarily, if the mystery rider has signed it still needs to be ratified by the MC which could hold up any announcement. Didn't Stoke used to sign the more experienced riders in their PL days? Raun's average is around 5.70ish from his Newcastle days. Nielsen didnt look that good yesterday and would be a major surprise if he signs.
  19. Well at least the first one had the right country!! Mind you according to someone else in this forum at Leicester, we were signing Roynon two weeks ago!!!
  20. Monarchs are capable of winning on Sunday and its certainly not over.
  21. They cut the number of qualifiers to avoid the fixture problems of last season and they still can't run a competitoon whose final should really be this month!
  22. Thankfully Kus is fit ,despite that helmet win, most of the time he looks as if he wants to be elsewhere. Most of the rest of the bears have a good score around Ashfield, hopefully we can cope with a high scoring reserve.
  23. I would think Rye House will do enough at home to see off Glasgow. We've too many guys who can't ride Dry House or have never been there
  24. Monarchs are favourites to win this one. With Pijper and Vissing likely to get big scores and if Cook joins in which hes bound to one of these times at Ashfield, it could be a big win for Edinburgh. We need everyone on form which they werent last week, which at least gives us some hope as there's room for improvement.
  25. Whilst Berwick thought they may have been robbed after Ashworths crash let's not forget Joe's heat one stoppage and Joey falling in heat 6 whilst on a 5-1. The two on the lines cancelled each other out though. Probably the main cause of Berwick's defeat was not using Barrett in heat 12. Had he won it, Berwick would've won . Edberg should've been left to ht 12
