  1. That is a real shame, and I would think he will return at some point. He looked so promising as a youngster, and that ability is still within him. He needs to get his head in the right (positive) place, and carry on practising wherever he can, and return to the sport next season, better for it. Only he can do that, nobody else. So good luck Kyle as you try to reinvent yourself. You've got talent, so please don't throw it away, and return in 2024 with a different mindset, you can do it.
  2. I agree Bagpuss that for whatever reason, we just can't gate. As for riding on the 'clay', and as far as I know, other tracks use a mixture of that, it's the same for all 14-riders. It's such a shame that racing has become so poor, when we used to be the envy of not just the other clubs in this country, but those overseas too. But to be honest, when do you ever see anything equal to or better at places like Ipswich & Wolverhampton?
  3. I don't know what angles BSN were showing, because I'm not into that. But I was at the meeting, and it was a big crowd, with people queuing from the ticket office through the car park and out onto the street 15-minutes before start time, that's why the start was delayed.
  4. I agree about Joe, it's a step to high to soon for the lad. He like his brother, are great prospects for the future, if the sport has a future, and I'd hate to see his confidence destroyed.
  5. I couldn't hear single one. Unfortunatlty, Kevin for the most part was giving them when their was bike noise, plus he tends to let his voice drop when he gets to the winning times. But, he's had to step into Edwin's shoes, without doing this job on a regular basis, so hopefully will get better from that point of view, as time passes.
  6. King's Lynn have made it quite clear, that as soon as Pickering is fit, he will be going back into the team, obviously at the expense of A.N. Other, so quite where the idea comes from that he's wound up, beggars belief.
  7. As a neutral, I thought last nights meeting was very good, and but for the injury to Basso, I think Peterborough would have won, as his IRR points only totalled one. I read certainly people being critical about Richie Worrall on this forum, but to be honest, I think he looks okay. Obviously you need a No 1, as has been well documented. I've seen Rohan Tungate mentioned, but I personally think that Kasprzak would be worth a gamble, as the East of England Arena would have suited his style of racing, and I'm sure he'd be as good as anyone else who's been suggested, at home anyway. Anyway, I wish the club all the luck in the world for the rest of the season, and give them the support they need whilst you can.
  8. I made my feelings known yesterday when this terrible and inexcusable news broke. I've woken up this morning, and feel even more anger towards the SCB over this senseless and childish decision. Speedway is dying as quick as the Titanic sank, surely they must see that, so why SCB, why are you taking this stance (aka throwing your toys out of your pram), and sending the sport we ALL love, to the depths of no return. I know that you people deny in the most part, about reading social media postings, but the world and his friend know that you do. PLEASE TELL US, THE PAYING PUBLIC, why you have developed this hatred, against the people that are trying to help our sport survive for many more years to come, and at the same time, provide entertainment for all ages, something lacking in the world of speedway as we know it at the moment. as dwindling crowds prove. As things stand at the moment, Workington, Kent and Mildenhall, are the only two stand alone clubs in the NDL, with the latter in particular, doing everything in their power, to keep their club running in 2023, and hopefully beyond, with their fund raising and innovative ideas throughout the close season, due to alarm bells ringing over falling attendances, with people fed up seeing the same old thing, week upon week, and they are succeeding. What will happen if both the mentioned clubs decided to throw in the towel, and join the NORA set up? Answer is you'd have egg on your faces, as it would be the end of the NDL, with so few clubs operating in it, and it would all be down to your unexplained reasons to the public, and quite possibly I assume, to Messrs Bishop and Widman as to why you don't want the sport to survive and prosper, albeit a little different to what is is now. As a man who has spent his life supporting speedway since the days when riders like Ronnie Moore, Barry Briggs, Ivan Mauger etc; had never been heard of, I hate seeing my passion dying like it is. PLEASE, I BEG YOU, sit round the table with Barry Bishop, Martin Widman, and anybody else involved, and tell them of your feelings or even concerns of what they are trying to provide, and at the same time, LISTEN to their side of the story too, whilst enjoying a glass of wine, or maybe a meal, and have that relaxed conversation. If at the end of it, you realise that they are right, and you are wrong, then admit it, and put matters right. It takes a big man or organisation to admit they got it wrong, and by doing that, we the public, would applaud and respect you for doing that. It's not to late.
  9. My personal opinion is that Jason Edwards deserves to retain his place, as he is developing into a good rider. I'd also keep KK purely for the big scores he's likely to score in home matches. I know he doesn't score well away, but winning at home with a decent result, gives us the chance of the bonus points. Of course we want to win away matches, but how many clubs do that on a regular basis anyway? If Laguta is coming in, and all the signs do now suggest that he will, I'd like to see local rider Connor Mountain in the side. He's been so unlucky not to find a Premiership place this year, as he was doing well last season. Who from the rest of the team would I release, if the figures all worked. Klindt would have to be one, Tofty maybe, and for me, although I recognise that many of you think differently, I'd get rid of Josh. I like the guy, but for me, when fit, he's not consistent enough. One thing I do know, is that I'm glad I'm not a promoter/team manager, as it must be heartbreaking having to break up a team they had so much belief in a couple of months ago. Whoever leaves, I wish them well for the future, and hope they get fixed up with another club ASAP.
  10. Having been lucky enough to see a Nora Meeting on the Isle of Wight last summer, which was also a 4TT, I can only endorse what you say. There is a real platform here for speedway to reinvent itself, rather than letting it die in the way it currently is. The SCB/BSPL really should go along and witness one of these meetings, assuming they haven't already secretly done so, there's a lot to learn. Do I think in it's current form that it would satisfy supporters up and down the country, then no I don't, but there are certainly parts of it that could be intermingled with what we know as normal league speedway, thus making it more pleasurable afternoon/evening for all ages, which includes young children.
  11. Still struggling along mate. Very impressed with Atkins these days, he's becoming the real deal. As you say, Jody is improving nicely, and was also good yesterday. Win or lose, the meeting was simply a good advert for our sport.
  12. Very good meeting, and whilst I'm a Mildenhall fan, I think you might be right.......but only might!! Have a good season.
  13. Pity it's not at King's Lynn today, as it's lovely and sunny at the moment, so hope you don't have a wasted journey.
  14. Something good is happening at Mildenhall with it regaining it's happy family feeling once again, thanks to all the hard wok everybody is putting in. Customers are made to feel welcome, and the only other place that I've experienced that is the Isle of Wight, who have a wonderful set-up, that speedway in general could and should be learning from. People moan about Mildenhall being a dangerous track, but then all tracks are dangerous, and I don't mean that literally, but wherever you race on a machine that are so highly tuned these days, with no brakes, then they're all dangerous from that point of view. I agree that they do get a lot of riders falling/crashing etc; at Mildenhall, but nine times out of ten, it's the younger riders learning their trade that are falling/crashing, which is inevitable as this is a Development League club, not somewhere like Doyle, Bewley, Masters and so on race. Yesterday, I attended the meeting against Berwick, raced in front of a very health Bank Holiday crowd, and was equal in racing quality that I've seen at any level (I'm not talking GP's), and possibly the best meeting I've been lucky enough to witness at ANY level, for a couple of years now. So well done Mildenhall for all the hard work you are obviously putting, and well done Berwick, for coming and attacking the track, rather than being wary of it. Superb Meeting.
  15. I have a hunch that 28-day replacement (or longer), could well be Troy Batchelor.
  16. So, Simon scored more points than Nicolai Klindt, Jason Edwards and David Bellego(Sheffield). He scored as many points as Michael Palm Toft & Frederik Jakobsen and if you included bonus points, he was better than those two. So, of the 14-riders on display, he was better than a third of them. I never make comments on here with regarding the rights and wrongs of what managements are doing at any club, but the comments I'm reading about Messrs Chapman, Allitt & Brady on both the King's Lynn & Peterborough sites, are in my opinion, cause to make them walk away, hence the closure of both clubs. DO YOU REALLY WANT THAT? Of course everyone has the right of freedom of speech, but don't you think it would be better to be done in a more productive way, rather than continually slagging people off that are putting a lot of money into keeping the sport alive at those two venues. Do you really, with hand on heart, want to risk losing the sport you love, forever, because that's what would happen, then your only choice of watching the sport without travelling to the Midlands and beyond, would be Ipswich & Mildenhall? Just for this one time only, do I think the team that has been put together at KIng's Lynn is good, then no I don't. Did they have enough money to put better teams out, if I include Peterborough, only they know that, so I can't be critical on that point. Do I have the answers to solving the obvious problems, no I don't thankfully, as I'm not putting thousands of pounds into clubs in to trying to entertain us all. I know that you will probably start slagging me off now, but BRING IT ON, because it seems that all the British Speedway Forum is designed to these days, is look at negatives instead of praising positives. I'll close my posting by saying, please continue supporting your respect clubs, and show some respect towards those who run them. Okay, so fire away if you want, but I will not react to any of them. Enjoy your sport.
  17. What makes you think Buster wants to concentrate on football??
  18. Lets wait and see what Simon scores first. He's seldom let the club down when riding in the reserve berth, and certainly never gives up, even when he's last..
  19. Don't think you'd post on that one for that particular meeting Mr Neutral.
  20. Oh hello, it's you, you've popped up on here now!!! A chap from Highways tells me that you weren't exactly a neutral, as you were supporting one particular rider!!!! With regards to the no overtaking and general track conditions, the same comments are being made about Oxford last night. Must be something to do with global warming. Have a nice day, and I'll see you on the Ipswich site tomorrow.
  21. Never the less, IT IS STILL RUNNING. Well done to Redcar for allowing that to happen, and shame on tracks that would fall in the Midlands area, give or take a few miles, won't give youngsters the same chance. I realise that they have to rely on parents/guardian taking them everywhere, so maybe that's the reason. But if it is, why does the NJL manage to operate okay?
  22. But surely in the case of Peterborough and Wolverhampton, that can't be put down to self interest.
  23. This is terrible news for everybody involved in any shape or form at Wolverhampton. It's terrible news for speedway altogether, especially as Peterborough are going too. It's been pretty obvious that speedway as we know it, is dying a death, but you expect that to happen when the promoters pull the plug, and for them to have the rug pulled from under them. You obviously can't run a Premiership league with 5-teams. Everybody has a turn at slagging off promoters etc; throughout the season, but my heart goes out to all of them, trying to come up with a workable solution to this bombshell.
