  1. It might be, not enough time to tell yet!!!!
  2. You are quite right of course. I admire all those riders who take to track, just not to earn money, but entertain the public. There's been so much criticism of two clubs in particular, but in all walks of life, we all have have our own level of ability at whatever our job or recreational activities might be, and speedway riders are doing their best (well most of the time!!). They are putting their lives on the line in an to attempt to entertain us, and we should praise them for that, not keep knocking them.
  3. Keith Chapman doesn't prepare the track. Keith Chapman didn't pick the team, so can't be blamed for the poor results. He's having to now so as to keep King's Lynn running for the remainder of the season. He's had to inherit an expensive rider in Artem Laguta, but has kept on board for the supporter's sake. The man is doing the best he can having to take on the financial side of the club, that he'd got rid of. I think we all know, that the team that was put together at the start of the season was poor decision making, but not the fault of Keith Chapman, as he had no financial input into the club, and just financed Peterborough to keep them afloat. Poor side I know, but the Pedersen didn't help, and I don't know who was responsible for putting the team together anyway, although I suspect it probably was Keith Chapman. To be fair, on paper, they didn't look a bad side, and should be doing better than they are. Neither club are producing racing of the quality that they used to, due to the track material that's being used. Whether that's down to cost, or unavailability of 'Red Shale' who knows. I know that Leicester have red shale, and the racing is worse there than either King's Lynn or Peterborough. But with regards to King's Lynn, I think Keith Chapman is receiving a lot of undeserved criticism. A man who bought the stadium, saved the speedway many years ago, and has provided the fans with some excellent years, and now some not so good years, and not his fault this season as already mentioned, but this sort of thing happens in any team sport. It's also been mentioned about poor crowds, but which team in the Premiership are enjoying really good crowds in this difficult financial time for us all with the cost of living, I can't think of one? Peterborough seems to be hold up quite well. Ipswich far from satisfactory compared to the past. Sheffield, Belle Vue, and Wolverhampton pretty abysmal, and Leicester, very poor. Sports club supporters seem to be very fickle when their club isn't doing well, none more so than speedway, but it's times like this, that your respective club in whatever sport, needs and deserves our loyalty and support through the not so good times, not just walking away from it.
  4. I've got the answer to speedways problems and affordability for everyone. Walking Football, Walking Rugby, Walking Cricket, so why not Walking Speedway? Machines could be taken to the starting gate by volunteer staff. Riders could then walk out side by side to their respective starting positions. Tapes up, and off they walk for 4-laps pushing their bikes. No mechanics needed, thus saving money. No new engines need, thus saving money. No riders falling, so no need for paramedics, thus saving money. No track work needed doing, thus saving money. No tractor racing needed, so fuel not needed, thus saving money. No new shale or clay needed, thus saving money. No air fence needed, thus saving money. No incident recorder needed, thus saving money. No referee needed, the flag marshal could declare the result, thus saving money. No need to print a new rule book, thus saving money. Promoters could then reduce the admission price by £1 per person, thus saving money for the fans. Promoters could then put the prices up in the bar by £1, thus saving them money they lost on the reduced admission price. So easy when you think about it, with walking sport becoming more and more popular.
  5. What a load of bollocks, they are killing our sport......WHY?
  6. To be honest, I have to agree with you about the 600 quote, it looked quite a bit more than that. You are possibly right about a lot of the older generation having higher disposable income, but there also a lot that don't. I have to keep a home and everything that goes with it in life, for well under £200 a week, and I mean well under £200, due to having a reduced pension as a result of having to give up work in 1986 through health issues. I'm not picking holes in what you say, but just saying from my perspective. With regards to getting people into the stadiums, I suppose we could all come after with various ideas. I do know for a fact in the case of King's Lynn pre-Covid, that large mobile signs were placed by roundabouts in and out of the area, advertising the meeting each time. A van used to drive round the surrounding villages and holiday resorts (Hunstanton in particular) leading up to a meeting. Leaflets were distributed to hotels and information centres, and the local newspapers and Radio Norfolk, gave the club, and still do, excellent coverage.
  7. It was a worrying post meeting conference for sure, and as Keith said, the crowd for the previous meeting was 600, and it was obvious for last nights meeting, it was even less. Clubs in the NDL can survive on that, but certainly not the Premiership or Championship. I've not been to many tracks this season, but Birmingham doesn't look good, Leicester doesn't look any better than it did in the Championship. Who is going to buy into an expensive sport with crowd levels like that? I really felt for Keith, who at times looked quite emotional during his speech, and just hope the sport reorganises itself into a more financially beneficial way of running in 2024, so that we don't lose clubs like King's Lynn. I've read the reports about the Eurosport coverage, and a friend who is out in France was watching it, and was messaging me, saying it was terrible. The meetings that I've watched (not last night), some of the camerawork has been dire. Last nights meeting I thought was very good watching it at the stadium, and the last two meetings have shown a much better bond and performance from the riders. Only they know why.
  8. Simon is riding extremely well for Scunthorpe this season, and whenever he's ridden for us, he's always given 100%, and not faked engine problems when last, like many do. I don't know why so many people knock him so often, although that isn't the case in these past few postings. He's local and has quite a few friends and some family that come through the turnstiles when he's riding, which is good for the club. He rides the Adrian Flux Arena well, so I'd be in favour of giving him a chance in the side. If Jakobsen & Pickering now don't want to ride for us, then thank you for your efforts whilst with us, but good riddance, as we want riders that are happy at the club. Okay, I've put my tin hat on, and am waiting for a barrage of attacks and insults.
  9. It's still not been officially announced as far as I'm aware, so we don't know for sure that My Blobby is right.
  10. I do understand that, I honestly do. But people come along when it's not on TV despite the things you mention, which I appreciate is a lot of money. Nobody surely are watching it for free on TV, as you're having to pay for a package that includes Eurosport, or purchase Discovery+ I'm not trying to pick holes in your thoughts, because we are all entitled to our own opinions, and I respect yours, but as a matter of interest, what do you personally think would entice people to attend, that now don't intend doing so. Just asking that's all.
  11. Hiya mate. Where has that been announced?
  12. Spot on Phil. Stopping at home watching it on TV (especially KL fans) will not be helping their/our club financially. If we want to carry on seeing riders like Artem Laguta every week, then the club needs their admission money to help make that happen. We've got an undefeated World Champion in our team, so lets savour every meeting we've got him. I noticed the crowd was well down on last weeks televised meeting at Ipswich, and that's not going to help them keep Emil Sayfutdinov, who they quite rightly adore, which would be a shame. East Anglia currently have what I consider the two best riders currently racing in British Speedway, and the only way we're going to keep them here, is by going along and supporting their respective clubs, even when TV cameras are there.
  13. Certainly has the makings of being a good meeting. Bald Bloke is right, Richard Lawson could cause us some problems, and the Fricke v Laguta clashes should be worth the admission money alone. You can't beat live speedway, with its atmosphere, which you don't get on TV. So I hope the 'Stars' fans still come along and support their club.
  14. If you get stuck behind a Fowler & Welch monster, that only seems to do 25MPH from Sleaford to Newark, you can be looking at 3-hours.
  15. If it hadn't been for Buster saving the club back in the 90's, we might not have had speedway in Norfolk since that time. So we've got a lot to thank him for.
  16. I hope you're right, as Norfolk can ill afford to lose it's only club.
  17. If it means cutting costs, and keeping the club in business, we should move into the Championship in 2024.
  18. I have to agree with all of that, as R/R for Kurtz only reaped 6-points. Toft certainly was competitive last night, and we need that to continue. Laguta is off this planet, and by far the best rider in the Premiership, what a joy to watch. It's time now that both him and Sayfutdinov were given wild cards in next season GP Series. I certainly wouldn't off load Edwards, as like Jenkins at Peterborough, he's showing so much promise. I like and feel sorry for Jorgensen, because he is a very good rider, but I think he's now found himself in the same position that Kerr and Riss were in, he needs a change of scenery to revitalise himself. Klindt is close to a carbon copy of Kasprazak, sometimes he will, sometimes he won't. Unlike most people, I've never been sure about Pickering. But as the saying goes these days, "It Is What It Is", and where really are the answers. Ipswich and Peterborough are both voicing complaints, and we can't all get the answers we want. I feel sorry for Alex, he's putting his heart, soul and money into this club, and deserves to succeed.
