  1. Not true, the paramedic was all set for Saturday's match.
  2. The track does not have a postcode but there is a map and directions on our website www.hitmen.co
  3. Today sees the Hitmen in action at home against the Belle Vue Colts. Another hard test for Buxton who are looking to put some league points on the board against a solid looking Belle Vue side. Start time is 3pm as usual.
  4. Changed this year to bring it in line with the EL/PL.
  5. Some good points, the main one being there are just not enough British riders to go around that are good enough for the NL. It is a major concern and has been for a few years the numbers keep decreasing and certain teams are struggling for riders. My feelings are the Aussies bring some colour in to the league and limited properly are good for business. However it was decided that they would be ruled out this year so we just have to get on with that we have got.
  6. There is nothing in the rules that states a rider competing in the NL must race for Team GB if picked. Both Morris and Branford have British passports so have the right to choose, nothing wrong with that. I'm personally not against the Commonwealth riders but they have been excluded this year and it is British riders only or those who have patriality that are able to race in the NL. As long as it is a level playing field for everyone then that is what concerns me.

  8. Apologies I thought you were talking about todays meeting wouldn't have a clue about it if it was at Monmore Green.
  9. Not true Dudley fans had been making gestures and shouting obscenities well before heat 15. You may bring extra revenue but you also bring extra trouble. Last years events saw Dudley supporters threatening to 'sort out' Buxton riders and glass supporters. As for heat 15 is it OK for a rider from any team to hit out at an official who is just trying to do their job. Don't know if you have any sway with the club but wish you would sort the trouble makers out and solve which, from a Buxton perspective, certainly is an ongoing issue.
  10. Yes, but not for the reason you think. To be quite honest I couldn't care less about the result what does annoy me is the attitude of some so called 'fans'. Why is that Dudley 'fans' seem to think it is ok to threaten other supporters and cheer when riders fall. When you have regular supporters telling you that they are frightened and have been abused all afternoon and children are scared and crying then I think I am entitled to be in a 'bad mood' as you put it.
  11. Garrity was not excluded for delaying the start, check your facts.
  12. According to the BSPA results it was 50-43 so all three points to Sheffield/Scunthorpe.
  13. Not sure where you get that from. Just spoken to Neil Machin who has told me it is overcast with a little rain forecast but nothing to worry about.
  14. Todays match against Newport has been cancelled due to a waterlogged track.
  15. Under the change in the eligibility rules for the NL Mark is ruled out.
  16. Well it is raining in Buxton and has been most of the night but we are about 20 miles away so maybe someone closer can update. According to metcheck the most rainfall is due between 4pm and 7pm.
  17. Just for the record Ben Taylor was injured at Newport on the Monday and Redcar were informed accordingly.
  18. I presume you mean me but rightly or wrongly it has happened, its all about opinions and interpretations in the end.
  19. It has always been the case that you couldn't ride in the NL if you were in a EL 1-7 right back to when Bridger first went from CL (as it was then) to EL. Cook and Roynon were number 8's so not relevant.
  20. Interesting, is Kyle still in Poole's 1-7 as I was under the impression you couldn't be in a NL and EL 1-7 at the same time.
  21. I believe this has been mentioned before but if you have patriality you don't need a work permit and to be eligible to claim patriality you have to be 17 or over. Work permit riders are not permitted in the National League.
  22. Lovely sunny day today for this local derby. Hopefully the fans will come and support both teams in what could be an interesting clash.
  23. Kiwi there is a distinct lack of riders at the standard required for the National League. It is all very well developing riders but teams need to be competitive or supporters won't watch. In my opinion it is worse this year and certainly at Buxton we struggled to field a team within the points limit and seriously questioned our ability to continue. There are a lot of youngsters competing in the U16 Champs this year but it will be a while before they are old enough to compete in the NL. Not sure where Dudley get a replacement from whoever they get wont score what Royno was but I'm sure they will pull something out of the bag.
  24. Today sees the Hitmen take on the Dudley Heathens in the second leg of the National Shield at 3pm. Matches between the two sides are usually tense affairs and today is expected to be no different. The Hitmen have a 16 point deficit to overturn if they are to claim the first silverware of the season but the Heathens are looking for victory and a tough match is in store. The weather is a little overcast at the moment but dry and hopefully the sun will be out this afternoon.
