  1. Jayne has actually and we will wait and see what the AGM brings and the costs involved before making any decisions. It gets harder and harder to compete with the 'rich' clubs every year and something really needs to be done about the costs involved to everyone, promoters and riders alike. The sad fact is that there is not enough riders around of the required standard and you cannot expect supporters to pay £10+ for an inferior product. It will be an interesting winter again that is for sure.
  2. I just think supporters are very quick to judge tracks that call meetings off. We were also looking forward to the meting today which would have been our final meeting of the season. A lot of work has gone in to advertising the meeting in the Buxton area with Zoe our press officer generating a lot of interest with the local radio station. Also a lot of work has gone into producing the programmes from a number of people and it all turned out to be for nothing. We made an early decision based on the weather we had over the last few days and the forecast for today to save people travelling unneccessarily.
  3. Unfortunately not much we can do about the weather greyhoundp. It has been raining here since Wednesday and although this morning was dry it started again about 1pm and is still raining now, not sure what you would have us do about that.
  4. Unfortunately the weather has beaten us and the track is waterlogged. Hopefully we will restage the next time the Americans are over and the weather will be on our side.
  5. Not true, some riders are ineligible to guest in the PL. These are the riders you are talking about Adam Allott, Barrie Evans, Jon Armstrong, Nick Simmons. Dean Fleton etc as they have all attained a PL average. All riders in a NL 1-7 are eligible to guest in the NL provided their average is lower than the rider they are replacing. Lamberts average is too high in fact he could only guest for Howarth or Kurtz as he is currently third in the league averages. However, it is irrelevant in this case as Irving is third in Scunthorpes averages so it will have to be r/r.
  6. Both teams at full strength, no problems with the weather at the moment. Should be a good meeting.
  7. Should be a good match with the local rivals both at full strength. The Hitmen won the KOC encounter at Hi-Edge by one point but have found some form lately so will be looking for an improvement whilst the Potters look to continue their winning form. All in all should prove an exciting afternoon's racing.
  8. Food is usually very good and fairly cheap but the pub is very popular especially on a nice sunny day and you may have to wait a while. There is also a nice chippy in the row of shops just before you get to the stadium.
  9. Not sure about the Stoke situation but Sheffield were always scheduled to race at Buxton today although they did agree the PL fixture at Newcastle this week.
  10. Getting a few enquiries about whether this meeting is on so thought I would confirm everything is OK here. If anything changes then I will update on here. Weather is dry but overcast.
  11. Weather is currently a little overcast with some sunshine so shouldnt be any problems. A tough match in prospect for the Hitmen with the Saints tracking a strong side despite the absence of Richie Worrall and Ashley Birks. John Oliver makes his debut for the Saints whilst r/r is in operation for Richie. The Hitmen are at full strength.
  12. You can only have a rider as a guest who is in a current NL 1-7.
  13. Ashley Birks guest for the Young Stars whilst the Hitmen are at full strength for tomorrow's match.
  14. My understanding is that the junior racing in Australia is individual not team so Mildenahll is probably Heeps' first experience at team racing. Some of the EL riders need some coaching in team riding and they have been racing for years
  15. Nice sunny day today, racing starts at 2pm so come and support the future of British Speedway.
  16. We have a number of key personnel missing that day due to holidays and the Fours @ Leicester.
  17. The truth of the matter is that the referee did not say it was unfit to race and neither did any official complain on the day, end of. The main problem was we couldn't get enough water on the track as the sun was drying it out as soon as it was put down so I guess we should cancel the meeting the next time the sun is shining I guess Mildenhall is perfect every week is it? As is every other track in the country. My previous offer still stands for all the keyboard experts to come and show us where we are going wrong or better still you can take it off our hands and we can sit back and watch.
  18. You have totally missed the point I was making. I am in no way saying the track was perfect but if it truly was as dangerous as people are making out why was the meeting run in the first place and why was it allowed to continue. If Michael Lee thought it was that bad why didnt he make an official complaint. I would have done if the boot had been on the other foot and if he really feels it was dangerous then as a Mildenhall fan or rider I would feel very let down by him.
  19. Fair point but two things if it was that dangerous why did the referee continue with the meeting and why did both sets of riders continue riding. Someone should have put a complaint to the referee and refused to go out if it was that bad. Its not much use complaining after the event (and Im not just talking Buxton here) those in charge ie captains, team managers should make themselves heard to the referee if things are that bad. Did anyone actually do that?
  20. Well as we have not done anything any different to any other week then I am at a loss also. Unfortunately Buxton being in the position it is is open to the elements which have a great effect on how the track rides and we cannot control that. The way we feel at the moment don't think it will be a worry to anyone much longer but hey ho thats life.
  21. Feel free to show us how its done then.
