Tomorrow's meetings against the Isle of Wight and Stoke are must win matches for the Hitmen if they want to make the playoffs. The Hitmen need to take all 6 points that are on offer to take the fourth spot. Isle of Wight are also looking to clinch that top four spot and need a point from the first meeting to make it and ruin Buxton's hopes. One thing is certain and that there should be plenty of action over the 30 heats. Admission prices have been set at £15 for Adults, £13 concessions and Children remain at usual price of £3.50.

This Sunday's match against Isle of Wight will now be a double header with the Stoke match taking place afterwards. Thanks to Dave for his co-operation in agreeing to this at short notice.

Superstar 1 answered you earlier. There is no conspiracy and it has the same meaning for every rider that it appears next to, in that they cannot be used in the PL as a 3 pt guest as they already have an established PL average.
-
That's spot on bwdouble 😃
-
The doubling up rule hasnt changed as such for riders 4.00 and below but it was amended to allow a rider that started the season in the NL to stay in the NL if he was under 5. Simon's case was different in that he didnt start the season as a NL rider if I remember rightly..

Charles can double up the rules were changed at this year's AGM to allow a rider that started the season in the NL to remain with their club providing their PL average is below 5.

Kent Kings V Dudley Heathens 26th Aug **3pm Start**
Jayne replied to a topic in National League Speedway
Previously it has been a teamate that will contest it on their behalf, so I would expect to see Kent's highest scorer take his place in the Bronze Helmet if Boxall is unfit. -
Dudley completed their fourth match on July 30th so new averages come into effect seven days later (6th Aug) which is reflected in issue 18 although not all of their riders had done 4 matches then. Next lot of new averages for all clubs are from 1st of Sept.

Again you read what you want to Derek. I said he was obviously going to stand by his club and not say anything detrimental about them ( ie Kent) as a club official is expected to. Nothing wring with writing on here but I was pointing out that he is not going to criticise his own club on here. Pretty sure the Kent management wouldn't be very happy if he did.
-
Derek no I don't - I stand by my comments as I do my riders. As usual you totally miss the point I am making. Nothing I have written is untrue. I did complain at Kent although nothing was done - fact. No one representing Kent complained to the referee today - fact. Tom Woolley was knocked off as Steve Boxall rode into him and was deemed at fault by the referee - fact. As for Michael Lee's comments another person who did not stand by his convictions on the day when they were losing - fact. I would not expect my riders to race if they were all in agreement that a track was dangerous. I would endeavour to fix the situation and if it could not be done then we would not ride - end of story.
-
Apologies - although you are still a club official and as such expected to not say/do anything detrimental to your club publically. As for Halifax Tiger not sure how a rider's sponsor can be impartial.
-
As the press officer you are going to follow the party line but why did neither your stand in team manager (as no one from your management team bothered to come) or captain make any complaints to the referee if the track was that bad. I certainly made my feelings known to John Sampford about Kent's track when we were there a few weeks ago not that it made any difference. The track is the same for both sides so as the home promoter how am I biased in saying not one home rider fell off on such a supposedly dangerous track other than when they were knocked off? The facts speak for themselves. Surprised to hear that Benji was injured as saw him afterwards smiling and having a beer!!!
-
Interesting to note that not one Buxton rider fell on a track that the Kent contigent have deemed 'unsafe' except for Tom Woolley who was knocked off by Steve Boxall. As for being the 'usual ploughed field' Waco you couldn't be further from the truth.

All looking good for today's match against Kent. Should be a good one looking back on previous matches between the two teams. Hopefully the Hitmen will take the win.

According to his girlfriend on Facebook there is nothing broken and he has been released from hospital

R/R for Tony and Ryan is back alongside the usual suspects

That is correct Trophy matches and KOC have never counted towards a riders average in the National League.

Charles' ave is 8.53 whilst Roberts is 9.68

Meeting off

A rider on an assessed average ie 3.00 will get a new average 7 days after he has completed the required number of total league matches ie 4.(regardless of whether they are home or away). A rider who already has an average will be subject to change again on a monthly basis (think it is around the 20th?? as the pl/el) after the total number of 4 league matches has been reached. The ruling was altered in the winter to reduce the number of matches from 6 to 4 and that it would be total matches only not 2H 2A.

Buxton complete their home Trophy matches today against Stoke. New signing Liam Carr makes his debut for the Hitmen (full story www.buxtonhitmen.co). Weather is dry and sunny at the moment, rain stopped around 8am so fingers crossed. There is a big stock car meeting today so be aware of extra traffic around the area.

Things are moving on a daily basis as we speak to more people for clarification and advice. We were originally told that we might be able to purchase a second hand fence for around £6K, this information was passed on to riders and officials after Sunday's meeting hence the details on twitter and facebook. This option is now looking unlikely for a number of reasons. We have been measured up for a new fence (again on Sunday) and that is going to cost just under £18000 including the vat. It maybe that something comes up over the next few months and we can get something second hand but at the moment it looks like we have to try and plan for the worse case scenario (for the club) and that is a new fence at a much higher cost. We have some more quotes to get so maybe there may be a cheaper option or then again there may not. Unfortunately we can't just sit and wait and see what happens as we are already conscious of the short timescale for this to happen. It would have been helpful to have more notice but we can't change that and just have to do our best to comply with the regulations and raise the money required.
