Re the Baek incident in heat 14, this was right in front of us and I had a perfect view. Jenkins 100% took Baek’s leg out as he dive bombed into turn 3, so it was definitely the right decision. Jenkins then lost control, partly as a result of that clash, and had to put the bike down, unfortunately in front of Joe who could do nothing but run over him. It looked horrendous from up close and whatever the result, I was just glad to see them all walk off the track. The Smith exclusion around heat 4-5 however was very harsh on Glasgow! First/second bend and little (if any) contact!

Not that it's anything to do with anything, but what I said is completely true. I'm really not concerned about whether you choose to believe it but if it bothers you that much I'll gladly send you the receipts for the 500 mile round trip this weekend, the 600 mile round trip the weekend after or the countless others throughout the winter. And I 100% guarantee you that if I was first reserve for the world championships and had a genuine chance of playing then I would be there. Again, whether you choose to believe it is not a concern to me, I'm simply stating fact. It's called commitment. You seem very bitter in your post, are you getting bored of sitting at your computer screen watching other people's achievements or something?

If I was a professional speedway rider who was serious about getting into the world championship and knew that there were genuine doubts about riders taking part and I was first in line to replace them then yes I definitely would actually. I travel thousands of miles a year in my sport, almost always at my own expense, to try and succeed at the top level. If I was told there were serious doubts about someone playing in the world championship and if I was there I could take their place I'd be there, without question.

Surely by entering the qualifiers in the first place he isn't 'relying on wildcards' and is trying to qualify on merit? To be honest your posts over the last couple of days have been so bitter that they've just made you look silly. On a separate note: Everyone is talking/moaning about bomber being brought in, my opinion is it shouldn't have been necessary in the first place. If I was Pavlic and was serious about qualifying for the GPs (which I assume he was as he entered the qualifiers) then being first reserve I would have been at Poole with my bikes, just I'm case. It was common knowledge that there were injury doubts and although Matej's withdrawal was late being confirmed it was talked about over a week ago as a serious possibility. Surely it makes sense for the first reserve for such a big meeting to actually be able to be the reserve if required?

Personally I'd rather see someone who gave their all for their country a month ago at the World Cup (Harris) rewarded with the call up ahead of someone who didn't bother to ride and someone who was s*** enough to be dropped from a poor GB team. Maybe that's just me. But I agree that the ones that missed out in the semis should have been asked first. Especially Buczkowski if Pavlic couldn't make it. As someone else said, he was riding just down the road from Poole last night so surely would have made it! But as it is, bomber is there and has a genuine chance of making the top 3 tonight as he goes well at Poole usually. I'd rather see him back in the gp's ahead of someone like Lindback. Yes he won't be as good as Tai but he does pull the odd big performance out of the bag.

International Best Pairs - 8th June (eurosport)

If I want to avoid the result of something i tend not to go onto forums until I've seen it.... Common sense surely? Plus they didn't show the missed heats anyway -

Chris Harris Cardiff Wild Card

Why would anyone not go just because they don't agree with 1 rider being there? That's mental. All you're doing is cutting your nose off to spite your face and missing out on the biggest event of the year. Also, I know of some people going up from down here to support the 'local lad' who probably wouldn't have been going otherwise so there's some extra on the gate for you ;-) -
Had this trouble last year when seetickets decided not to supply them so was forced into using Ticketmaster. Fortunately that wasn't the case this year. If it had been then I would have been getting them on the day. Would only ever use Ticketmaster as a last resort after their previous service.

Chris Harris Cardiff Wild Card
Cornishman replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
To be fair he has qualified by right in the past, by finishing in the top 8 (6th I think). He's also won a gp. So it's not all charity and even when it was, realistically we didn't have anyone better. Bomber will always be my personal favourite as a local lad no matter how he's riding, but unfortunately he does seem to be in decline at the moment. For that reason if there HAS to be a 2nd British rider, and Harris doesn't qualify outright, then I'd rather the wildcard went to Cook. Even better though would be for it to go to none of them and be give to one of the young Danes instead! Anyway, roll on Cardiff and come on Bomber! -

Sorry, I thought this was a discussion forum. My mistake. I clearly said IN CASE I MISS ANYTHING DECENT. Because if it is the usual rubbish we won't bother racing into the stadium to watch them, but if it's something we like then we will go in earlier. It's not like i'm talking about doing something instead of the speedway, just seeing what's happening throughout the day. Thanks for reminding me why I don't bother with this site anymore though. Looking forward to seeing some of the old BSF faces at Cardiff, from when the forum used to be decent. Before people like whoever this toss-pot I've quoted is started turning up Oh and it's "you're". -
Referee Just Bottled Semi Decision

You've lost me now. Think it's best if we agree to disagree (and you agree to disagree with 95% of everyone else too!) You're perfectly entitled to your opinion on the matter, however wrong it is -

Yes Nicki came across to choose his line for the corner, as he was entitled to do as the leading rider! Chris was beaten to the corner and make a poor decision but got away with it -
Referee Just Bottled Semi Decision
Cornishman replied to TheReturn's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
He wasn't forced onto the grass, he took to the grass by choice when he knew that he was beaten to the first corner as lifting off probably would have allowed the other 2 past. I haven't heard a single rider say it was the correct decision yet and almost every post on this thread apart from yours suggest it was incorrect too. I understand that you are just supporting your rider and trying to justify it but he was in the wrong there. I'm a Michael Schumacher fan so I know how you feel! -
Referee Just Bottled Semi Decision
Cornishman replied to TheReturn's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Usually means when one bike is ahead of another, like Nicki was. Holder should have lifted and conceded the corner and got very lucky. He deserves to be world champion as he was clearly the quickest rider, but not like that -

If anyone wants to stay in the area but isnt bothered about being in the centre of Cardiff, the Cardiff M4 travelodge is only £29 a room for the Saturday night at the moment! -

Fine I'll change the title It was written late into the night after a few beverages to be fair so I must have been feeling dramatic But my sentiment remains the same. And it doesn't surprise me to see Emma's post on twitter with a similar message -

Yes I agree a minutes silence wasn't necessary, I was just using that as an example to the fact that nothing at all was done by the organisers. A short film or something before the meeting surely would have gone down well with everyone? If it wasn't for the fact that some speedway fans had put together the white shirt thing it would have probably gone pretty much unmentioned! I just feel that some sort of small tribute should have been made, with it being the first British gp since he died. Maybe re showing the 2004 final or something on the big screens -
...the lack of RICO tributes/mentions at tonight's gp. Not so much as a minutes silence/applause, let alone a tribute. A brief mention of the shirts in the interval was all we heard all night. I thought with it being the first British gp since the death of one of our top riders, we could at least show our respect to Lee. Full credit to Freya and the ladies selling the shirts though, must have been thousands in the stadium wearing them :-)
