  1. I still think there is more to it than financial reasons, only a couple of weeks ago our local paper reported that finances was not a problem to the frosts and crowds had increased. Now it's all different, if they wanted to walk away, why not put it up for sale like Machin has done with Sheffield, not just say we are shutting down with no warning.
  2. Even if Sky do continue, I'm sure it will be at a much reduced amount than they have paid previously. So it seems pretty obvious there won't be enough money available to negotiate with No1 riders and their demands, so a weakened league is surely the way to go.
  3. I think Hougaard will be in the side again next year, if we run
  4. Darcy is a great rider, there is no doubt, but Tai is the current world champion, end of! In the past lots of great riders have never been world champ. That's a fact, not an opinion.
  5. Yeah your probably right about the buffet and dance, but have heard from a couple of people that work at the showground on speedway nights that they feel that Ricks heart isn't in it anymore. Even Trevor Swales has said he hopes that they continue, but it's all hearsay I guess. Your also right that we never hear much from the top.
  6. I hope we run as well, but I'm not overly convinced we will be. No end of season dinner and dance this year, could be significant ? Has Rick and Julie had enough of speedway? I suppose we will just have to wait and see, but all I have heard is negatives.
  7. From my personal point of view I'm not going to complain about any new measures they bring in, as long as its a fair playing field for all teams and it keeps speedway in this country going. I will always support my team whoever rides for them, not to fussed about the top boys riding, you can still see good racing without them.
  8. Not all British people, and who is it embarrassing? Certainly not me He was superb at P'Boro this season when he visited. Why shouldn't he take the opportunity when it's offered? There's a lot more going on in speedway that's more embarrassing at the moment
  9. Whatever.............who cares what you think! Your sounding like a broken record.

  14. Quite true. Well as a member of the public,my mood is in tune with BSI and the FIM,as I'm quite happy to see Chris Harris as the wildcard

  16. Also as a neutral I must say that was the most enjoyable meeting I have seen this season, I have to agree that we do have some young British talent coming through. Was really impressed with Josh Bates, even after two big crashes on the first bend he still showed determination to win the re-run. I never seen so many crashes in one meeting, gladly everyone seemed ok, which I think just shows how determine the riders were. I am looking forward to my next visit, would recommend National League racing to anyone who hasn't been to see this standard of racing. I absolutely loved it!
