  2. I don't see anyone being rude about the company, merely stating that you can do these trips for a lot less money than being charged by TP. If you were expecting the chap on the other end of the line to be anything other than likeable then he would be in the wrong job. Ultimately you buy from them and it's kerching. For what it's worth regarding getting tickets outside, there are usually blokes flogging tickets. Last time we had spare tickets to get rid of at the last minute outside Bydgoszcz (last GP of the season, Gollob being crowned) you couldnt give them away near the start time and we ended up with 4 or 5 tickets that were unused (having been given grandstand tickets on the day). I would doubt the group will get seats together, but shouldn't think you'll have too much trouble in laying your hands on tickets. Don't panic and pay over the odds 2 hours before the start - wait until 30 minutes or less to the start would be my suggestion. There's a bar, grab a drink Rico
  3. http://somersetrebels.co/news.php?extend.1004 Confirmed Rose and Wright come in. Odd move imo. While Charles Wright has shone in NL, the PL has been a different matter in the past. Certainly weakens the Rebels at home and I doubt either of these riders will do THAT much better away. Rico

  5. I whizzed through the meeting tonight on fast forward, but if allowed I would have used joker in heat 3. Could have sworn I heard Middlo suggest it was a consideration. Look at the lineup for the race. Ultimately you can only ever earn your team 3 extra points. Right, please in your own terms tell me what the logic of throwing away 2 points at that stage of the meeting was. Ignore what you listened to and explain to me what the benefit of throwing the points away was. Come on, think it through.
  6. So going from first to third was clever tactics? The race started when the tapes went up. Barker lead the race. Wise to drop to third? Go on, give me your logic.
  7. I believe I have covered off selection. Tactically, you have a 2 man team as it transpires. Let's replace rider number 2 with rider number one against a bloke who looks nigh on unbeatable. Let's throw a point away to let us replace a rider when our chance has already gone. Barkers focus should have been on winning the race, which from the position he was in out the gate, he (if he was worthy of inclusion in the first place) should have won. Enough for you or do you want to carry on blindly defending?
  8. I would beg forgiveness and.get Rob Lyon back on board. Let him carry out his vision.
  9. Kennett was worse than abysmal. Cook I would suggest let himself down. Anyone who has seen him ride this season would wonder if it was the same rider. Middlo says before the meeting tonight "The world cup is an event where you have to field your best side. Now hopefully I've got the best side here". To me that is him saying I made a mess of Monday (I failed) now I am rolling the dice again (failed by bad selection / tactics). Resign
  10. Barker should not have been anywhere near Prague tonight. The bloke is a throttle jockey, something that is never going to work at Prague. Personally I wouldn't have selected Bridger either but can't fault his effort or application. Mistakes made selecting Kennett in the first place, Danny King conpletely overlooked. Are you suggesting you think the GB management made the best use of their limited resources. I assume you concur that they were tactically inept? Rico
  11. I have to concur. Bad selection and awful tactics.
  12. I guess it would be rude, as a Monarchs fan, not to thank Middlo for dropping Cookie tonight. Got the Monarchs a draw with his maximum. Time to stand down, some absolutely crazy decisions made both in selection and tactics overall. To finish last in that meeting tonight is an utter disgrace and it has to be time to go. Rico
  13. I don't think you're far off the money with this suggestion. Consider Sweden who in the last few years allowed their top riders to ride in their lower league, how their stock has fallen. This is not based on their performance last night, but look at the SGP performances of their top riders and they as a country are certainly on a downward spiral. There needs to be a clearly defined path for riders to take and progress forward. Arriving in a comfort zone and being allowed/encouraged to remain there needs to be consigned to the bin. We have had a batch of riders come over from moto-x who have progressed rapidly and we need to keep them moving upwards as far as their ability can take them. Rico

  15. Pretty much summed up my thoughts - I couldn't believe some of the 'wow'-ing going on post GP as I thought some of the 'racing' hard to bear. I was delighted to see a Hampel win but by the end of the meeting it all felt a bit hollow as I felt the track could have been so much better. I didn't think the meeting/track was a patch on the one served up in Bydgoszcz earlier in the season. That was proper speedway Nige. Rico
