  1. Swindon are a decent PL side with a GP rider at 1. Poole on the other hand are a proper EL team with a strong top 5 and decent reserves. Having just watched Andersen beat his opposite number Tungate by about half a lap I can't see myself toughing this out to the end. Worryingly people don't consider Swindon the weakest team. Rico
  2. It would seem to be known yesterday afternoon that this meeting was off. http://www.edinburghmonarchs.co/news/article.asp?id=2325 Rico
  3. I would have thought that whoever bought the original ticket will have the ability to buy them again, but you unfortunately won't have the same rights. A beer in Warsaw sounds good f-s-p Rico
  4. For those that went last year, it's certainly the easiest ticket purchasing process I've encountered on kupbilet.pl. Log in, and your tickets, same seats as last year, are sat waiting for you to buy. Big thumbs up Rico
  5. Didnt expect that tonight, thought Monarchs would struggle heats 6-10 after Cookie getting early rr ride but great battling performance from all the lads. Highlights for me Cookie's ride off 15m, awesome especially after getting out of shape midrace, but probably topping that was his first bend in heat 13 shuffling up the rockets to make room for the steady Liam Carr to come through for a vital 3rd. My Goodness Rye's no 2 was woefully slow all night. Maassen (sp) I was pleasantly surprised with, he has something. A lot of jumpy starts from the Monarchs reserves but a very welcome 4 points. Rico
  6. Look beneath you in the table, there's not a lot to worry about. Ipswich are certs for top 6. Rico
  7. Just a little clarification on this BW. Yes, they did bring out the equipment stated, however the remedial work only went on for 10/15 minutes - I guess the expected interval length after heat 12. Given there was a delay of around an hour at this point it was somewhat disappointing that the work wasn't carried on for a longer period in order to attempt to improve the state of the track. None of the riders then came back out to check the state of the track after the limited remedial work. Rico
  8. I have seen some cracking meetings at Gniezno over the years, highlight being Gniezno v Rivne, turned up expecting a home massacre but we were treated to a cracking battle. Poland will doubtless romp the round, but there could be some good scraps Rico
  9. So the crux of what you are saying is that because you think you will benefit from Victor's spectacular average drop, all is good? If Wolbert averages where he was, circa 8, yes you will have had the piss ripped out of you, but until he does I would suggest it is pie in the sky. Until then if I was you I would just hope he fails. You may get some satisfaction from that. Or maybe when Victor starts scoring, you can shout from the rooftops ...... Btw just for clarification, I do know the difference between an assessed average and an actual one. Ultimately an average is what it is once it is achieved. There is clearly some hope that certain riders have kept their true abilities under wraps
  10. So you put someone who you know is no more than a reserve at number 1? Quality team building. What is wrong in the whole situation is crap like your former number 1, Dilger, Konopka etc are allowed in below their starting average. The sooner that situation is resolved the less 'sexy' these riders become. My original point was more in relation to your outrage at someone losing 2 points from their average. I assume you are happy with your rider being on a 3, for reasons no more than those of self interest.
  11. Ignoring Glasgow using a rider who dropped 4 points from his average? ;-)
  12. Based on what Matt Ford insinuated over the microphone at the Play-off Final at Somerset last year I would take it as read that Jack Holder, whatever is said/done 'officially', will be a Poole asset in all but name until he actually moves up, should he prove to be good enough. One could also assume that Brady Kurtz is in a similar arrangement. Rico
  13. I really think you are reading too much into the situation. The cheapest seats were 49zl, the most expensive non VIP seats were 99zl The VIP seats are 850zl. This makes the VIP seats 17 times more expensive than the cheapest seats and more than 8 times more expensive than the most expensive non VIP seats. I would not expect many of the VIP seats to be sold, but in the main used as hospitality for sponsors, dignitaries. Rico
  14. I would think the price will come down in time. No consolation but there will doubtless be plenty of tickets available from touts on the day and for a lot less than viagogo. Rico
  15. Try http://www.viagogo.com/au/Sports-Tickets/Motorsport/FIM-Polish-Speedway-Grand-Prix-Tickets/E-736234 Quite a few on there. Bit more than face value it has to be said. Rico
  16. Oh come on. You are spoiling a great conspiracy. Next people will be saying paying £500 with a tour company is vfm. Tickets and accommodation for 3 nights, with flexibility for the sunday we have spent £120 so far. Maths anyone?
  17. You can pay online with dotpay. Allows you to pay by card. Rico
  18. Of course, I had forgotten about younger Holder. Not seen much of his results tbh.
  19. Interesting interview with Matt Ford last night, which I interpreted as Somerset would be getting next years Poole loanee again. Cissis maybe to add to the arrangement they have in place for Brady Kurtz. If I was a scunthorpe fan I would be asking why your partnership isnt benefitting from this type of deal.
  20. No. Edinburgh got double 3 and double 3, Somerset got double 2 and double 3. The other riders scores in the races are irrelevant in terms of 'gain' from tacticals. Careful, SCB sees this and all hell will break loose.
  21. Nah, Monarchs earned an extra 6, Somerset earned an extra 5. Ultimately that was all that separated the teams after 30 heats.
  22. I knew I would get a text before result came through to Chatroom and thought it best all round. All worked out well in the end.
  23. Looking forward to hearing accounts of heats 13 and 15 and seeing the dvd. Sounds like it was a bit mental. Congratulations to the Monarchs and look forward to Starman condoning the instructions in heat 15 Rico
  24. Enjoyable evening at the OTA. Meeting run through at a good pace, especially considering both teams were using r/r. Came away with slightly mixed feelings, felt Monarchs threw away a few silly points, but ultimately felt happy with the margin of defeat as it could have been worse. Rebels are very strong at home and tonight's match will be a big test for them. If it wasnt for the horrible traffic on the M5 I would visit more often, about 3 hours to get there, but home in under 2. Special mention to Aaron Fox last night, who really improved as the night went on. Had he been able to ride a little wider he would have scored a few more. He certainly made for a few good races in the second half of the match. Would like to think Monarchs can finish the job tonight but it will not be easy and could go down to the last couple of heats.
