  1. It's been a long road: we started our journey nearly a week ago on page 197 and after going full circle through shark infested custard we're back to our starting position
  2. You've been going long enough to know that you're in the wrong sport if that's your criteria and you've certainly had an unfortunate choice of team recently.
  3. You're keen on that troublemaker tag aren't you Rodders
  4. Ask Darragh MacAnthony if football knows where it stands. I think that you'd get a different answer, but that wasn't the point, it was just about communication. The club has already communicated (June 25): "With the latest government announcement regarding reopening of public places there are hopes throughout the sport of speedway starting in August. Each club will be allowed to make their own call on whether to race in what will be a reduced season – without financial punishment from the sport’s governing body if any decide not to." - therefore it's safe to assume that that's the message for all clubs from the BSPA. If they are looking at half a season then why not just say what that will mean for season ticket holders and what the thoughts are in the more likely event of no speedway in 2020, adding that firm decisions will be made when it's decided if any part of the season is or isn't going to take place. Doesn't need the BSPA to answer that.
  5. It's a bit unfair to say all. I'm sure some do give a toss but you don't take on the mafia. You go with the flow or they'll get you in the end as Frost/Mahoney and Sandhu found out to their cost, as did Rathbone.
  6. All very well to tell people to get a grip FFS and you make valid points but speedway's problem is that it doesn't communicate, or does it badly when it does. They could put out some sort of sterile message regarding season tickets instead of the endless guff of news items they put out. The last news item of note was nearly two months ago when they set out the position as it was then and finished with “In addition it’s important to appreciate our wonderful sponsors Crendon Timber, the team sponsor, and club sponsor City Auction Group, for sticking with the club.” , although why they support a club that makes life for it's disabled customers impossible or more difficult I don't know? Anyway, that's a different thread, how about an update on the current overall position, given that a hopeful Jul/Aug start was mentioned in that news item and we are now in July? That costs nothing and if they don't know WTF is going on now above that May message then we are in trouble. Chapman could even end it with a message of appreciation for supporters? Costs nothing, only a bit of time! As an example, this is the sort of thing, from the POSH website (relating to matches not received in 2019/20): It has been an unprecedented time, a hugely challenging time and a period that has been extremely frustrating for everyone connected with the football club. The backing of the fans during this period has been exceptional and if you feel that you are in a position to do so, we would appreciate any waiver or donation that can be opted for. In return, we will recognise that generosity in a unique way at the new stadium and as a further gesture, we will allow 2020/21 season ticket holders to bring a friend two times during next season free of charge (when safe to do so).
  7. PLEASE RETURN TO: PETERBOROUGH PANTHERS SPEEDWAY, 44 FRASERBURGH WAY, ORTON SOUTHGATE, PETERBOROUGH, CAMBS, PE2 6SS (I HAVE ENCLOSED A CHEQUE FOR £…………………MADE PAYABLE TO PETERBOROUGH SPEEDWAY LIMITED) - and the link is still on the website. No excuse for that given where we are!
  8. Given the likely economic situation in future they are going to need all the fans that they can get if they do run again so I wouldn't worry too much. I'd say that they need to think who'll have the most disposable income in future so alienating their season ticket holders on top of their disabled customers wouldn't be the smartest move.
  9. They've been saying that for weeks though and it hasn't happened as yet, however, Sir Patrick Vallance and the chief medical officer for England Professor Chris Whitty stressed Mr Johnson's plan was not "risk-free" at Tuesday's final briefing. And health leaders added "While the future shape of the pandemic in the UK is hard to predict, the available evidence indicates that local flare-ups are increasingly likely and a second wave a real risk" To answer the question, yes I'm missing it. Peterborough Speedway is a great place and provides great racing when management are not chasing track records that just serves up follow the leader tripe. Slow the track down, it's not rocket science! I wasn't intending attend much anyway in 2020, if at all, due to the club's treatment of their disabled supporters. I'll certainly not be attending a very unlikely shortened season starting as summer is ending unless Pratt and co reverse that decision, which they will not because they are thick skinned, so hopefully they don't complain about the losses that they happy to be keen to increase.
  10. Probably can't believe their luck that they've got any so need to keep them sweet, although to be fair to the sponsors they probably know little of this. However, I'd certainly not be partaking in #WallpaperWednesday (it's a Twitter thing Wealdstone, I'll educate you elsewhere if confused ).
  11. I really feel for the Peterborough promotion as I know they had put so much time and effort in to making this season a successful one for the club,” Nicholls added. “We know last season wasn’t a great one for everyone so many things had been put in place behind the scenes to improve on last year ET 21/5/20 Sort of countered by the addition of the biggest cock-up any promotion has made in the last 20 years towards a section of it's fanbase and visitors.
  12. True 23/4/20 (peterboroughtoday.co.uk/sport/other-sport/peterborough-panthers-could-race-autumn-and-winter-while-club-owner-praises-his-backroom-staff) - not that Swann would have a clue anyway and couldn't see him attending the EoES any time. There is a chance Peterborough Panthers could race in a shortened Premiership speedway season from September to November. "Fans were also flooding the club’s social media channels raising concerns about the lack of speed in team building (as well as )" Their new arrangements are unacceptable in the summer, but Sept to Nov, good opportunity to think again!
  13. Still promoting their sale so why would they refund?
  14. That reminds me - I just revisited "PLEASE NOTE: Disabled Parking (Inside the Showground) - CLICK HERE to read the notice" - I haven't looked at it for a month or more and had forgotten what a bad decision it is. I had to chuckle at "park as near as possible to the entrance gates in use at the time" because I'd forgotten how far that is from the required destination point. Someone really needs to do an online disability awareness course during lockdown. Hopefully they are not enjoying the restrictions currently in place when they can't do what they want and that should help them to empathise with their disabled customers? As you say, more pressing matters at the moment in that we all want individuals and the sport come out of the other side of this health and economy destroying pandemic. With physical distancing seemingly likely to be in place for some considerable time then I can't see anything sporting involving a crowd starting up any time in the near future anyway.
  15. Interesting analogy: "We respect the fact that the above hasn’t been caused by everyone issued with a blue badge, and we do also know and understand this decision affects everyone that will attend our race meetings that are issued with a blue badge." peterborough-speedway 28/1/20 Piers Morgan@piersmorgan (6/4/20): "We shouldn't ban people from exercising, because that would punish those heeding the rules. We should ban morons who ignore the rules to go out partying or sunbathing - from receiving any NHS treatment if they get the virus.
  16. I took the dog out for 30mins for my outside exercise allocation and was looking at the grass round here thinking that it'll be like a forest before they get to it again, so hopefully PCC send the mowers round.
  17. Most seem to think that he's doing a good job and so do I tbh in uncharted waters. Trying not to be too draconian and relying on individuals to be sensible, but we're in the "I'll do what I want until forcibly stopped" era, and much like Panthers alleged Blue Badge policy, everyone pays due to those who will not (some, but not all by any means, cannot with good reason in unprecedented tough and worrying times) play ball. According to the BBC: Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said he believes the UK can "turn the tide" against the outbreak within the next 12 weeks and the country can "send coronavirus packing". That's he believes that we can turn the tide in 12 weeks - all that really requires is to slow down the infection and make some progress on dealing with it. He's not saying anything more than that IMO and it assumes that people will do as they are told which seems unlikely. I'd lockdown totally London for starters as that's the worst place but I think that he said that he'll not do that which is a bit more of an own goal.
  18. Well not quite: Peterborough Panthers Speedway@PboroPanthers - STAY SAFE out there guys and be sure to follow all the latest government guidelines.
  19. I do hope not after reading "No.2 You're a paying customer so you will be told in due course. You're not entitled to anything so you will be told when the heads of British Speedway decide to tell you" It would explain a lot and is certainly a no2. Whilst not entirely wrong in itself, the tone of that hardly helps.
  20. Thanks, that's exactly what I wanted, you can't even get that right I'll stick you back on ignore so bid you good day!
  21. I've not been on here frequently through choice and the fact that you consider my input as moaning shows what a div you are, so perhaps you are close to management?
  22. Not really as I couldn't give a stuff but if you want to give yourself credibility with these "listen to me" posts in the style of Young Ones Rik (& it was only Neil the hippy who called everyone Guys!) then you need clarify a touch
  23. Why? Who are you and on what authorirty do you speak? It's not rocket science to come up with that. May is kicking the can but correct in that they just need a point to reflect on the position at that time. Current worse case projections suggest that any speedway this season is unlikely. We don't need your expertise to come up with that.
  24. Upright Speedway@UprightSpeedway - I saw @jeffdavies170 photo of @BomberHarris37's new bike. Gotta say I wasn't keen on the overall look so I changed a couple of things with photoshop. It's definitely looking better now
  25. Looks bloody lethal if you think of that following a rider into the air fence.
