Well as Paulco would say part one of our plan complete agent Fenwick in place, Cookie now's your chance to impress the Comets management for a place next season and all you need to do is NOTHING. ;0)) In reality it would be a major shock (for me at least) if we came away with anything from this meeting, but I am sure the lads will do their best and whatever the score hope all stay safe.

Richard, Rene, Adam and Kyle to form the basis of the team, cant see Kenny being fit for next year, obviously dependant upon what points limit is agreed at the AGM

We all have "bad days at the office" so to speak, Kyle is a great young talent and I for one would love to see him back in the Workington side next season (providing we are running of course) -

Lewis I can assure you the Worky fans stood on the home straight did not cheer when Josh came off his bike, on the contrary he was roundly applauded when he got up from the track. I will acknowledge that we do give him a hard time as we do with Cookie but that is more about banter and there is no wish to see any rider injured. All we were doing on Sunday was making a lot of noise for our own riders and surely that's what us as supporters are there to do. -
Your right Scarra the young lads need the opportunity to come through which the 2nd halves used to give to them. that said Northside are doing a great job in both promoting the sport and giving opportunities to the next generation of riders and long may that continue.

We hear what you are saying but your solution ( I.e. to reduce the cost of entry) will not and does not work, just look at what is happening at Berwick they reduce entry to £10 and still see no significant increase in numbers through the gates, and now find themselves in trouble, reducing admission costs alone will only put more promotions out of business. I agree that costs need to be reduced if possible but that is down to the BSPA to sort out at the Conference in November, this year they are stuck with the pay rates and constraints agreed at last years conference so their outgoings are to a large extent fixed (for this year at least). You focus upon reducing the entry cost for those who pay on a weekly basis but what about the season ticket holders, why should they support those that are not prepared to pay normal entry costs. The couple who you stand with shouldn't need to pay £50 as you say in one week, what happened to the £15 they saved when the last Ipswich meeting was cancelled, and if they haven't saved that then why should the promotion pay for their leisure activity. If we still want to see speedway then we the supporters need to pay the going rate, it's a hard world sometimes you need to prioritise and if you can't afford it tough luck but you can't expect others to be out of pocket to accommodate your Saturday night entertainment. Here's a thought though, if you feel so sorry for your 2 friends why don't you subsidise them and pay part of their entry? -

Two sides to every story Scarra, you never seem to have the ability to look at the bigger picture, but then again you clearly have very little time for the current promotion. So let’s aid your understanding of simple maths: Adult cost to attend a typical meeting Car Park - £1 Program - £2:50 Entry - £15 (Adult) Total out-goings per adult supporter / meeting = £18:50, so that’s £37 for 2 meetings. So what am I as a supporter likely to save as a result of the reduced entry for this weekend’s double header? Car Park - £1 (saving of 100%) Program - £2:50 (saving of 100%) Entry to watch two meetings - £25 (saving of 16.5%) Total cost for two meetings this weekend = £28:50 Total cost to attend 2 meetings normally = £37 Saving for me £8:50 or 23% So what have the promotion gained? Possible saving on fuel for the Comets riders (cost unknown) say £200 Possible saving on rent to the Rugby club (cost unknown) say £500 if anything at all More people through the gate, very unlikely based upon recent weeks What has the promotion lost as a result of the double header? Loss of 1 week’s car park income Loss of 1 weeks program sales Loss of £2,500 from gate receipts (based upon 500 full paying adults) Loss of £1000 from gate receipts (based upon 200 paying concession rates) So the loss to the promotion is likely to be in the region of £3500+ Why are you comparing us to Elite League clubs who as you know full well are subsidised by Sky, when in fact we are comparable with other Premier league clubs holding double headers? So in summary you and I save £8:50 and the promoter loses about £3, 500 sounds fair to me, wonder what you would say if your boss came up to you and said I am reducing your wage by 23%? And you think it is a good idea to reduce admission by another £5/ head, get real. -
Sorry you ended up with the miserable, moaning whinging mob whoever they were, we all have them ( where did you stand / sit?) I can assure you the majority of Workington supporters are very friendly yes we like our banter just like anyone but good people none the less. Next time you come up (which you will) give me a pm and I will show you a different Workington experience;0))

Sounds like a great night, with 300 fans there that bods well for the future, just hope we will be there ourselves in 2013

Great news to hear that Glasgow will be running in 2013, I suspect a few drams may have been downed after that news and a few sore heads this morning no doubt. but well worth it.
