You say you are NOT biased. OK then, I'll give you opinion found on other forum and it is from Stein who lives in Norway and who actually know Tarnow track. (...) The Tarnow riders are soooo used to their hometrack, which in my view much be one of the slickest tracks in the world, and it is always prepared for the home-team. No wonder Rzeszow track staff made the track a bit more tricky when Tarnow came there, and since both Nicki Pedersen and Rune Holta likes tracks with more grip why shouldn`t the Rzeszow track-staff make the track suitable for their home riders? I went to Tarnow two weeks ago, and as I said earlier; when THAT track gets slick it is slick out of this world. During the first practice session in the morning before the Grand Prix qualifier the best riders were doing around 17.0 second laps. After the first grading and watering the same riders were doing 18.0 second laps (...)

You're welcome I think you are right. When I first opened your link it came up in Polish so to help our English speaking friends I found an alternative "English" button. When I tried your link just now it opened in English :-) Funny how things are, aren't they. Ps. see you at Reading (perhaps ?) -

I agree with you here. Fans should loosen up, but most of all clubs' official should pay on time and avoid financial commitments if the money isn't in their pockets.

Neither do I. But to be honest, Australia were always the biggest threat. Britain surprised me a lot, especially Lee Richardson (1,2,2,3,2) 10, Simon Stead (3,2,2,1,1) 9 and Chris Harris (3,2,1,1,2) 9 Bring on Kolodziej !!! -
Champion, why don't you see the other side of a coin. In my view - and that is the other side of a coin :-) - it was not Holta who begged for the Polish passport. It was the Czestochowa club who wanted him as a Pole. I would even say that it was not Holta who wanted to be in Poland's last year World Cup squad, but Poland's speedway bosses who felt that with Rune in their side Poland stood bigger chance of lifting the Cup. And so they were proved right, but - in my opinion - Poland would win it anyway, with or without Holta. The stink however remains.

Mr. Clemens, you deserve a medal, or maybe even two, or three. Thank you for your time and sharing with us your thoughts from your trip to Wroclaw GP. I am so glad that you and and your companions have clearly enjoyed it, and thank you once again for your kind words about the country of my birth. If you ever decide to come to see Polish League fixture, come to Bydgoszcz. And if you do, let me know first. Kind regards PolskiZuzel

OK, here we go... Orbital position 13.0E Satellite Hot Bird 3 Encryption Nagravision Frequency, MHz 12360 Polarization Horizontal SR, MSyms/s 27500 Network ID 113 Original Network ID 113 FEC 3/4 TS ID 8300 SID 10513 Video PID 532 Audio PID 533 [Polish] NVOD Hope it makes sense. As far as I know subscription for Digital Polsat (including Polsat Sport) is only meant for people living in Poland. I believe the same applies to the British Sky network. It means that in order to buy subscription one has to provide an address within the specific country. Digital (Cyfrowy) Polsat does not sell smart cards only. One has to purchase either a digi box, or the whole set (incl. satellite dish, LNB, etc). Ex-pat Poles living abroad, in the same fashions as Brits living -say - in Spain, purchase what's needed through family members in their home country. I suspect there are other ways to obtain it...but I would'n like going into that.

You won't be able to watch Polsat Sport unless you have pre-paid subscription (smart card)

Wow! that must be a big surprise. After all these promises that he will never ride in Poland again. He said on the Lublin website that he was tempted with offers from Polish clubs which he rejected over the last few years. What mattered to him - apparently - was the right conditions, and money was not one of them. I wonder what he meant by 'right conditions'

PolskiZuzel replied to tarabanko's topic in International World of Speedway
No chance ! Jerzy Dudek, Liverpool's and Poland's football national team goalkeeper tops the table with earning of 2 500 000 British Punds. Tomasz Gollob, with 260 000 GBP has been ranked as the 38th highest earner in Polish sport. The other speedway riders in the top 100 are Jarek Hampel - 55 (176 000 GBP), Piotr Protasiewicz - 60 (148 000 GBP), Rune Holta - 68 (126 000 GBP) and Janusz Kolodziej - 98 (75 000 GBP ) . -

Rune Holta Threathed To Life
PolskiZuzel replied to tarabanko's topic in International World of Speedway
Polish medias published some detailed reports regarding this infamous conference, and here is what I managed to pick up from them. Czestochowa's chairman, Mr Maslanka, said that the money for 2006 season at his disposal is not the same as in the past season, and his riders had to accept cuts. But Rune was offered a litle more than last year. When other club entered the bargaining and offered him more money, Czestochowa could not even match it. So in an amicable way we had say good buy to each other - said Maslanka. After his speech it was turn for Rune Holta, who for this conference had specially prepared written text. Once he started to read it the atmosphere within the conference room has changed completely. Holta began with claims and accusations directed straight at the management. The management of the club knew that I was ready to sign the contract immediately after the end of season. I gave them only two conditions. Before I was going to sign a new contract I wanted to be paid money I earned in the 2005 season, and that they should choose between me and another rider. We shook hands and Mr. Mslanka promised me that he won't be signing that other rider. What's happened? Without any telephone call or any other communication with me, the agreement with that other rider was signed. I am still waiting for the money that I earned in more than 10 matches. It is not nice to tell people that I wanted "crazy" money (to sign the new contract). Money never has been an issue. After all I have been loyal to this club for the last seven years. If this was not the case, and if I was thinking only about the money, I would leave this club few years earlier. I have had the offers from other clubs which I've turned down." Rune then thanked Czestochowa fans for seven years spent with them. "In the end, he said - when I realized that one thing is said and another is being done, I decided that the best step forward for me will be changing the club. I believe that Rzeszow is well organized, young and prospective club with a future, but nobody knows what the future will bring. I am sure one thing. Nobody should ring me up from Czestochowa until the club will change its management. I simply lost confidence and trust towards the people now in control. I will always remember marvelous fans and they always will have a special place in my heart. I thank all my friends, all those who have been with me and supported me. For that special period in my live I say "thank you" to them. As one can imagine "a storm" erupted after Holta concluded his prepared speech. Claim and contra claims began flying across the conference table. During that time the name of that "other" rider (Sebastian Ulamek) has been mentioned by someone in the audience. It is worth mentioning that Holta is not the first rider who complained about Ulamek. Few years ago the same claims were raised by Slawomir Drabik, Ryan Sullivan and Grzegorz Walasek At that time Holta revealed also the amount owned to him by Czestochowa - 40 000 Euros. The Conference's atmosphere was thickening minute by minute when finally the Czestochowa's chairman decided enough is enough and called it off. -

Wimbledon's fans of the 70's will no doubt remember Eddie Jancarz, one of the best ever speedway riders from Poland gracing British tracks. 'Steady Eddie" , at the club level, apart from Wimbledon, rode only for one club in his home country, Gorzow. The town he was born in and where he learned to ride speedway. In those days when one spoke about Gorzow it meant speedway, and if it was speedway then it meant Jancarz and his Stal Gorzow Club. Last Sunday the people of Gorzow, headed by Zenon Plech, the other half of the Gorzow speedway pair that made the name of their town famous worldwide, unveiled Jancarz's monument This unique tribute ( is there anywhere in the world another monument devoted to a speedway rider) was conceived by his former friends and colleagues and the funding came from the public collection . pictures at: http://www.sportowefakty.pl/index.phpdysc_...1&news_id=93210

Polish League: No Limits On Foreign Riders!
PolskiZuzel replied to tommy's topic in International World of Speedway
In my understanding , once Poland joined the EU, the opening of the Polish clubs to the foreign 'invasion' was bound to happened. Polish speedway may come to regret it, but the decision had been taken elsewhere. And not today, but sometime in the past.
