To make it more clear I'd like to add that originally in The ExtraLeague Individual Championship two riders from each Polish clubs were to take part. One Polish and one overseas rider with the highest CMA following the 10th round of the ExtraLeague competition. However, due to clashes with other tournaments, Niels Kristian Iversen, Andreas Jonsson, Michael Jepsen Jensen and Pawel Przedpełski will be missing. Earlier, due to injury Peter Kildemand and Gregory Walasek had to withdraw. Their place will be taken by Emil Sajfutdinow, Adrian Miedzinski, Piotr Protasiewicz and Matej Zagar. The Russian starts in place of Jepsen Jensen, because in the Częstochowa line-up there is no more foreign riders. Thus, Torun will have three representatives in the competition. In contrast, Zielona Gora will have two Poles. The tournament in Tarnow will be conducted according to the new formula. After the main round of 20 heats, two of the best riders will advance directly to the great final. In turn, riders with placed 3-10 will compete in two semi-finals. The winners of these two semis will start in the decisive race of the day .

Patryk Dudek Tests Positive For Banned Substance
PolskiZuzel replied to lastword's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
There is no talk about "performance enhancing", or "recreational drugs" - these terms are used in the UK. We are talking about the presence of prohibited substances. Acording to reports these substances are prohibited in Poland but not - or example - in Sweden, where Dudek was also tested. -
2014 European Speedway Championships

Trees, pull another one. How come you don't care about the comp, if you comment on it. -
We all know that speedway riders whilst riding on all kind of tracks are exposed to danger. To minimise it some years ago air filled fences were introduced to protect them. It seems that not everywhere. When you look here: https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpf1/t1.0-9/p180x540/10417659_4234433356754_2752396118744457455_n.jpg one wonders who gave permission to stage a speedway meeting on such a venue. My sincere condolences to Grzegorz's family (wife and small daughter) R.I.P.

Togliati Sgp Talks
PolskiZuzel replied to PolskiZuzel's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I just can't believe what I'm reading. "A DECENT wage in Poland would be 600/900 zlotys." Mr. Rising you've chosen wrong people to talk to. People who know a little bit more than Polish speedway mechanic would tell you that THE MINIMUM wage in Poland stands at 1'600 PLN. It's not much, I know, but nowhere near 600/900 zl. I read elsewhere that there is a certain "propaganda" beamed from Polish sources allegedly close to OneSport. What would you call your posts? Was the Eurosport TV truck in Togliati hijacked and stripped bare? or is it another piece of propaganda? Mr. Rising, I am not interested in "floating stories". From the person of your status I would expect confirmed facts. -
The soap opera called „Speedway Grand Prix in Russia” is likely to have a new episode. Speedway venue in Togliati has been ready to organize the GP tournament, for years, but the BSI was not. It looks as though they have finally arrived at their senses. Talks about the SGP event in Russia have been going on for years. Russian promotors want to organize speedway with the best riders in the world. Russian fans want to see them in action on their home soil. How great is the demand for this type of event, was in evidence during last year SEC event in Togliati. Head of speedway in Togliatti, a longtime vice president of the local speedway club Mega-Lada, Alexei Stepanov is a man who over the years was engaged in talks with BSI. They (the BSI) were very categorical. They agreed to see us because we asked them to do so. Unfortunately, they did not accept our proposals. The situation mentioned by Stepanov took place in July 2011, during the SWC final in Gorzow .The talks lasted for some time afterwards and finally were broken. They said that if we wanted the Grand Prix in Russia, we had to put at their disposal two planes, pay unimaginable amounts of money and things like that- said the Russian promoter. After last year SEC event organized by us in Togliatti the attitude towards us from the BSI people has noticeably changed - he added. After the European Championship tournament they have probably realized that no planes are needed, that after all we can be reached by road. The most famous speedway riders came to compete on our track and I did not hear any complaints- said the Russian. The broken talks are to be resumed in late May, at the Grand Prix in Prague. We have received an invitation from the BSI to continue our talks about the organization of one of their tournaments. On the 31st of May we're flying to Prague. How it will end? I'm not really able to predict - said Alexei Stepanov. source: sportowefakty.pl

I would argue that the SGP is no longer the crowd puller it once was. BTW where did you hear about Bydgoszcz basketball team as a crowd puller Sayfutdinov's is disappointed you say? First time I hear that. Daria on Polish TV asked him straight whether he is disppointed, or not. And he answered that he is not. So your story is just not true.

Easter Monday ExtraLiga fixture at Torun has been completely sold out. Over 15 thousand fans will be supporting the local Angels against Wroclaw. The entry tickets were sold in a few minutes. The price - 1.00 PLN roughly £0.20 each (!) If you wonder why so cheap? the answer is - part of the Torun's punishment for walking out of the last year play off final return match at Zielona Gora
