  1. Smektala was here to blame...although not intentionally
  2. You are right saying that...as was the case with Jerzy Szczakiel in 1973. Was he the best, or just lucky? SGP is not " one night thing ", so the luck problem is much more reduced, although still existing. Your Zielona Gora rider - Jason Doyle was unlucky to get injured one round before GP conclusion, but that how it goes. You are either lucky, or not. Picnics ? what are you talking about...you are on the English speaking forum...not in PL.
  3. So Poole can do it ( tell Andersen they won't tolerate clashes with his Danish League ), but Poles cannot. Why ? Because weather cannot be predicted quite a few Polish matches had to be postponed and it turned out that some of their key riders were comitted to ride elsewhere on re schduled date
  4. ...no they don'r. They SIGN A CONTRACT for a minimum of one season. A contract is something both sides agree to.
  5. The team of experts from the PZMot wants restrict PGE EkstraLiga riders to participate in no more than up to two leagues (including Polish) - informs sportowefakty.pl It's a controversial idea, which may have an impact on the world speedway. There are pros and cons of such action - says sportowefakty.pl expert - Krzysztof Cegielski. Such a rule will be preferred by some and much less by others. The most interesting will be the reaction of the stars who during the season – up to now – been riding in several leagues - The controversial ruling will hit hardest mainly riders from Denmark. - They will have their own home league, Polish, and nothing else. Russians or Czechs probably will not be thrilled either. Australians are in a different situation, they will still have a choice - argues Cegielski On the other hand, sportowefakty.pl expert has no doubt that such a move will show who is the boss in world speedway. - Polish fans for some time have been expecting the Polish league to show its strength and that's what wil happens if this controversial ruling will come to force.. He expect much resistance from the riders who ride in many leagues. The rider, who rides here, there and everywhere earns good money, but he takes place in a team which could filled by others, and this leads to the fact that the rider's market is shrinking. The truth is that the best will choose Poland and Sweden. The rest will go to other leagues, and that will decrease the level of competition in many countries - emphasizes Cegielski.

  7. yes they have whatever happens in heat 15, because they were no 1 before play-offs
  8. Polish ExtraLiga works different to the British League set up. Zmarzlik is u-21 of age, and as such is one of the two compulsory u-21 riders in the Polish set up.
  9. Can you expand on this, please. As far as I know, until now it has been common knowledge that riders are paid for places, not points.
  10. Half of the Speedway Grand Prix riders are seriously considering withdrawal from the cycle, if the organisers (BSI) will not change the financial rates - writes Polish daily sport newspaper „Przeglad Sportowy”. Of course, Polish club promoters are already rubbing their hands, because if their riders give up riding in the SGP then they will reap all the benefits because of this. There will be no more cancellation of the league meetings, no injuries risk to key riders, and of course they will not be overloaded with duties as the they are now. In other words riders will be focused exclusively on the League. Dream on you will say, but In the Polish speedway circles, sparrows have been twitting about this for some time. At the moment it looks as though half of the SGP participants are very much considering whether or not to sign entry forms for next season. They say that they are going to sign, on condition that the financial rates will be changed. The organisers of the SGP cycle (BSI) have been saying for years to riders that riding in their cycle is the most prestigous event in the world, riding in it translates into best advertising contracts. It seems that speedway riders do not want to hear this any longer. Less than £10’000 for winning a round are not any money for them. Sometimes they have to spend as much to prepare for such a round. The BSI pool money for a year amounts to a million dollars, for one tournament it is 84 500 dollars. For an average man it might look OK but it does not impress riders any more. They are getting more for riding in the Polish League. It is being said that BSI are thinking about a wage revolution, but it is not a solution riders want. The BSI wants to pay points money, not the place money. Of course, without increasing the pot. Will this stop riders from terminating their participation? Przeglad Sportowy remainds its readers that among those who in the past have not agreed to sign so called entry forms were - Tomasz Gollob and Piotr Protasiewicz.
  11. I'm wondering where did you get all these info about Polish govt. subsidising speedway ? If you prove me that what you're saying is true then I'll be asking you what's stoping British govt to do the same ?
  12. That's exactly what she is. We all know that, how come Nicki doesn't
  13. check this site: http://speedwayscorecards.net/images/World%20Cup%20Final%202016.jpg
  14. Trees, if you believe Steve Shovlar, then you believe in anything and in anybody :-) I would say that Steve likes winding people up. Specially us, Poles.
  15. sportowefakty.pl is full of praise for Max Fricke who is having a great start in the Polish Speedway Extraliga. Australian is showing that opinions about his great talent were not exaggerated. On the track he impresses with , a great riding technique and a cool head. His Polish team, Rybnik , at the beginning of the 2016 season are surprising many fans. In the opinion of experts, Rybnik as a newcomer to the highest level of the league competition in Poland, were destined to struggle for survival. Yet, so far Rybnik are causing problems for the best in ExtraLeague. Last Sunday „Sharks” drew at Leszno against the Polish champions , which was a great surprise. Once again a very positive impression was left by Max Fricke. The Australian is so far one of the revelations of this season at the PGE Extraliga. Every coach would love to have such a 2nd string rider who scores well especially on away matches. Max is only 20 years old. This year he is destined to ride for the first time in his life on most ExtraLeague tracks . So far this does not worry him too much. His CMA on the home track is the same as on the away one. It amounts to 7.20, which a great result for a debutant.
  16. sportowefakty.pl are reporting that young Przedpelski is to replace Jarek Hampel
  17. surely they have not forgotten how to turn left...although the score so far says otherwise
