In Wroclaw they cannot imagine that the world no.2 would not ride during The World Games 2017- writes sports.pl Whilst Tai Woffinden is one of the best speedway riders in the world , he is also in dispute with his own federation to such extend that this year he declined to ride for England in the World Cup Teams. Tai is quoted as saying -"My resignation from th 2017 World Cup was thought out. On the other hand I am very much indebted to the Wroclaw speedway club. The new track at the Olympic Stadium, judging from the first laps, looks promising, so if my federation allows me, I will be happy to ride at The World Games " In Wroclaw they want Woffinden to ride in July's FIM event . „Of course, the decision who rides at Wroclaw belongs to the FIM and the British. But it is in our interest that Tai gets the nomination and will accept it, " says the head of the Wroclaw's club, Andrzej Rusko The Speedway Pair tournament during the non-Olympic sports Games will be held on July 29th in accordance with the formula in force ofin the former world championships pairs. There will be seven best national teams (duo plus one reserve team) to race in 21 races. Poland will be represented by Bartosz Zmarzlik (Gorzów), Patryk Dudek ( Zielona Góra) and Maciej Janowski (Wroclaw).

Edward Jancarz, the winner of the 1977 Embassy Internationale ...there will be probably very few British speedway fans ( of a certain age :-) who would not know, or at least not heard of him. On the 9th of April his Polish club, Stal Gorzow, the only one he rode for in his entire career, is staging another Memorial meeting. Since its beginning, the Jancarz Memorial has many world class riders as its winners. Among them Hans Nielsen, Tomasz Gollob, Gary Havelock, Joe Screen, Leigh Adams, Jason Crump. This year Memorial has also attracted many world class riders and will be screened by NC+ TV channel. The five representatives of Stal Gorzów will cerainly participate in the tournament. There will be Bartosz Zmarzlik, Krzysztof Kasprzak, Martin Vaculik, Niels Kristian Iversen and Przemysław Pawlicki. Unconfirmed reports are saying that as many as three local rivals from Falubaz Zielona Gora will also compete. Patryk Dudek, last year's winner , Jarosław Hampel and Piotr Protasiewicz. That this is not the end of big stars. Nicki Pedersen, Emil Sajfutdinov, Piotr Pawlicki would also likely wish to check their pre-season readiness. Sports.pl website reports that for the winner there is a handsome reward of £4000

According to report published on sports.pl Polish fans, will probably have a big headache because of the unusual big number of the television coverage of their favourite sport. There is a new player on the broadcasting market, TV Eleven, who already have rights to broadcast English Premiership League. Soon there will come an announcement of purchasing rights to broadcast Polish Nice Speedway League, (second tier) and test matches of Poland's National Team. Eleven's offensive on the market is the effect of withdrawal from speedway of Polish National TVP. This is benefiting Polsat TV and Eleven TV. Currently all indication are that Eleven will be covering matches of Nice Polish Speedway League on Saturdays and Polsat SportTV on Sundays. This is no end to that, as there are unconfirmed reports saying that Eleven TV bosses are negotiating rights acquisition to show the individual Junior World Championships. All in all Polish fans this coming season will have an extremely wide choice of television broadcasts. Compared with previous seasons only coverage of the Swedish league matches will be missed. Over the last three years these matches were shown by Eurosport, but due to poor viewership station did not extend the contract. The Eurosport will still be covering Speedway Best Pairs Cup and European Championships. For now, NC+ TV is the number one station in speedway coverage in Poland. Thanks to them Polish fans ( and quite a few on this forum) enjoy watching matches in the PGE EkstraLiga, plus all the rounds of Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Team Cup.

The Polish Motor Association must pay back half the price of the ticket and accommodation expenses incurred in connection with the Speedway Grand Prix in Warsaw in 2015 - ruled the District Court in Warsaw, which dealt with the PZMot appeal. The ruling is final – writes sportowefakty.pl In May this year the Regional Court in Warsaw decided that the Polish Motor Association were responsible for the poor organization of the Speedway Grand Prix in Warsaw in 2015 and ordered return of half the ticket price and the costs incurred for accommodation. Acording to the legal adviser Mateusz Klejborowski who represented unspecified fan ,the Court had no doubt that the Polish Motor Association entered into agreement with speedway spectators and concluded and that the PZMot failed in part to fulfill its obligations - The Court concluded that the cause of the interruption, and the contest's end was the bad track condition . It did not matter that the PZMot commissioned the track preparation to a professional company i.e. Ole Olsen. Due to the fact that the competition was interrupted after 12 of the 23 heats, the court found that the fan is entitled to reimbursement of half the ticket value and the costs incurred for accommodation and PZMot as the organizer of this event ought bear these costs. The Regional Court verdict was appealed by the PZMot On 7 December the District Court in Warsaw heard the appeal which challenged the unfavorable judgment for for PZMot. It rejected explanations and upheld the original verdict by the Regional Court. This means that the PZMot must return half of the ticket value and the accomodation cost borne by an unspecified speedway fan. -

Warsaw Gp 13th May 2017
PolskiZuzel replied to james1234's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
For the third year in a row PGE Warsaw's Stadion Narodowy will be hosting the best speedway riders in the world. The FIM Speedway Grand Prix round will take place on May 13th, 2017 and may go down in history as the last one in Warsaw. Next year ends the three-year contract for staging the event at PGE Warsaw's National Stadium, and according to przegladsportowy.pl the compromise on a new contract, is far away. Concerns are being raised primarily to the contract cost, as well as its length. The BSI for another contract wants from the PZM much more than before, and the Poles do not want to hear about it. The British based BSI offered a five-year contract, which is not acceptable to Poles. They want to sign a contract for the next three years, with an option to extend it by a year in order to organize the World Team Cup. So far, the BSI for the round in Warsaw has been getting from the organizers less than for the rounds in Gorzow and Torun. - We have already started talks on the GP continuation rounds in Warsaw. A lot in this case will depend on fans and their interest in the event. The situation must be resolved in the first half of next year - said Andrzej Witkowski, president of PZM at a press conference. Within hours from this announcemnet the fans managed to buy more than two thousand tickets. -
Polish Ekstraliga Is Flexing Its Muscles
PolskiZuzel replied to PolskiZuzel's topic in International World of Speedway
That is exactly what's all about. Polish bosses want their riders when they are needed, for example for re-scheduled matches because the original were were cancelled due to rsin, etc. -
copied and translated from sportowefakty.pl Quite often, you had been asked about riding again in the British League. Finally, we heard that you will not be riding there in 2017 season. The priority for me are leagues in Poland and Sweden. At this moment the British League is not. I suspect that many fans would like me to be there and it is very flatering. I did spend a few seasons there. There was a great atmosphere, both in the team and in the stands. However, at the moment, from a sporting point of view, I do not need to ride in the UK . I'd rather have a little more free time, which I can spend on training or with my family. Before the 2014 season you resigned from the Grand Prix. In our previous discussions it was highlighted, that you will not return until you miss this cycle. How do you feel about it now? - Yes, it is true, that I long for it again. Few people know that this season I was to ride in qualifying rounds for this cycle. Unfortunatelly an earlier injury, thwarted my plans. So I have to count on the organizers favours whilst distributing wild cards or start in the qualifying rounds next year. Contractual matters have been taken care of, so now is the time to rest. What plans do you have in front of you? I have just arrived at St. Petersburg with my family and I intend to rest. It looks as though I won’t get much rest because I have a lot of things to do in Russia. Soon I'm going to begin preparations for the next season. We'll see what happens next, but generally I don’t intend to rest in the tropics .I want to spend more time in Russia.
