New Averages (team Line Up Changes Updates)
oldtimer replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
This weeks STAR a number of promoters saying what a mess it is, Neil Middleditch, Alun Rossiter and BSPA Chair Buster Chapman admits the result of allowing riders to go beyond the reserve berths was not fully considered. Justin Sedgmen at reserve and Charles Wright at number two what a farce. I can only assume that those who are now saying it's wrong, were asleep at the AGM when decisions were made. How you could not foresee this happening beggars belief and once again proves the sport is run by a bunch of amateurs. -
Swedish League on Euro sport 2 this Wednesday 4th May at 1pm

The Fluff makes the difference between having an entertaining 2 hours for your money or just 15 minutes of racing with no fluff. It's supposed to be an entertainment is it not?
-
Are you the real Steve Gresham speedway rider? Agree comment about the music and when I used to go regularly the music was not the choice you would make to create some excitement. Wish they would bring back the jingles.

Surely not that bad, perhaps you mean little atmosphere ?

Somerset Vs Rye House 25/03/16 League Cup
oldtimer replied to SomersetBlue's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Riders missing already, not Somerset's fault though. -
Very sorry to hear of Plymouths closure, only visited once when down there on holiday, but thought it was great. Right on top of the action and because it was a small area you were close to other fans which made a great atmosphere, something lacking at other tracks. Agree it seems strange to start with a challenge match in March if you wanted a big crowd.

Somerset And The Confederate Flag
oldtimer replied to drvortexz's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
New logo looks too much like a Welsh Dragon. -
Looks like Josh will miss 6 matches for Rebels doubling up, one being a challenge match so not too bad. Perhaps with a bit of common sense and co operation between the Leagues the clash on August 19th could be changed so he does not miss the first leg of the Scottish Tour away to Edinburgh.
-
I won't be going again then, thought might be something new on BSPA web site, but old rules still there. I see National League done away with tactical subs.
-
Perhaps I have missed it somewhere, read AGM meeting held and had to wait until December for new Chair to be in post, so apart from a Brit reserve in Premier, has anything else changed?
-
Worst thing about this team is if Gary May keeps changing the reserves around in a match and you have to keep writing Wajtknecht in your programme.
-
Looks an entertaining side and some riders with hopefully the potential to do well. Some have said on here, weakest side for some time, however that's not managements fault, it's the fault of the BSPA who weaken all teams, especially successful sides every year with the stupid low points limit. Look back 2 years to 2013, Somerset had Jason Doyle, Nick Morris, Kyle Newman, Alex Davies, and Charles Wright at reserve, Josh was only third heat leader on 8-41 average. Now he is number 1, he has never been up to what was considered a number one a few years ago and certainly not an out and out number one last season. In a few years time Charles will be number one and the rest of the team National League riders.
-
Season tickets are only good for those who don't go away on holiday, as most save two or three admissions. Somerset is keeping admission prices the same as last year, so well done them.
-
Interview with Darcy on BBC Points West at lunchtime today 30 November so assume it will be on this evenings 6-30 edition.

Is season ticket just League Matches?

which BT Sport channel will it be on, do we need to pay for all of them?

If you have Bt Internet and phone package I think you get BT sport for free. -
Great pics Phil Crump, Tormod Langli, Steve Gresham, Phil Herne, great days. Sadly It's a totally different sport now days.

Would like , as you call them robots" like previous Rebels riders, Doyle, Zetterstrom etc, or a Craig Cook as number one. Brady a very good rider and a future Star, as long as he is nor over faced by the responsibility of a number 1 too early in his career.
-
True 50% but we used to have heat leaders who were guaranteed to win heat 1. Points scored by Brady at home in heat 1 in following matches: Edinburgh 29/9 2 Peterborough 28/8 1 Ipswich 18/8 1 Edinburgh 11/8 0 Plymouth 31/7 R Rye House 5/6 1
-
And you think most Elite clubs get big crowds? We need a top number 1 who can win heats 1 and 15 at home, that's not Brady. Jensen will be tied up abroad.
