  1. Perhaps it's due to the total absence of any evidence to the contrary or are we all supposed to rely on blind guesswork, oh insightful one? Someone claims he/she/it has a Sheffield ip address. I do believe that there are one or two Poles based in the UK these days. It may be some sad British moron who thinks it clever to annoy people but it's pretty irrelevant - unless you're trying to sound amazingly insightful. I rejected that kind of behaviour even before I left the playground behind.
  2. An excellent performance from the Poles to win and congratulations to them. Pity about their supporters, or at least one. It's often said that you can judge someone's character on how they handle success. I take it we're all supposed to apologise for daring to be British. Over the years there's been a huge respect for Polish riders over here. Shame the Falubaz troll's undoing most of that. No wonder Zielona Gora's emblem is Mickey Mouse..... Time to show him the door Phil. Delighted to see GB going close and that the NSS showed exactly how great a race track it's going to be.
  3. I'm reminded of the sad situation at Crayford where a replacement dog track was built at the far end of the old stadium site but specifically excluded speedway and stock cars.
  4. Those days of having a bus link to the stadium were before privatisation of the bus companies. Now a route must make money or have a direct local council subsidy. The days of providing a service rather than making a buck are long gone. I travel down from Gloucestershire but without adequate parking I'll have to start looking further north for my speedway. Taking a wider look, before one brick of the current stadium is touched there must be cast-iron guarantees that a viable replacement is already part-complete (ideally fully complete) and will have viable parking on site. If that means a few less houses and a little less of the enormous profit to be made by GI then so be it. The fear has to be that the present stadium is felled but we still get these constant delays and re-applications before eventually the new stadium is declared unworkable due to these parking problems and quietly dropped. I do hope I'm wrong but so far we have seen little to reassure these fears beyond words and claims that are not backed-up by documentation held in the public domain.
  5. Precisely, HA. Car parking has always been the achilles heel of the whole scheme, initially planned for the centre green, now apparently to be scattered all over Swindon with some miraculous park and ride scheme or there being no need due to the supporters suddenly becoming the greenest sporting public in the country. Anyone would believe that the stadium operators property developers didn't want the plans to be approved. If you wanted to build houses rather than a stadium wouldn't you keep coming up with unacceptable or unworkable plans until finally someone gives in and allows you to complete the housing estate? A few minutes on the BSF will show a certain green-ness amongst its members, but sadly not in the way required by this cock-eyed scheme. The rat is beginning to smell rather strongly here. (EDIT - Afterthought - of course you could require more car parking spaces are provided by reducing the number of houses being built ;-) The irony is that there is plenty of land around the site that could be made into car parking but I expect apart from the cost problem the land is green belt).
  6. There seems to be a fundamental inability to understand where the stadium customers originate from. The assumption seems to be that they are purely Swindon locals who will now joyfully choose to walk or cycle to the new stadium. The line "the numbers and modes of transport will be monitored and reported" leads you to wonder exactly how the use of 'sustainable' transport will be policed and enforced. Will the operation of the stadium be threatened by closure or fines? How on earth will intending customers be coerced into using 'sustainable' transport. The comments about public transport are highly valid. Unless the crowds attending the new stadium substantially increase on those using the present version I cannot see any bus operator putting on a bus service without heavy subsidy by the council - and this at a time when such subsidised services are being cut all across the country. This whole scheme, tragically comes across as ill-considered, unworkable and thoroughly deserves being described as 'pie in the sky'.
  7. I'll make a brief return to say I have found an active link but I've only been able to access it by using a proxy (pretending I'm outside the UK) since the domain is blocked by many UK isps, including Virgin Media. It might be worth trying, especially if you're outside the UK or your provider isn't one that blocks livetx.sx. Some of you may find it useful. http://livetv.sx/en/eventinfo/430938_swedish_elitserien/#webplayer_ifr|454992|430938|454992|130|7|en
  8. Flagrag has explained elsewhere: "Posted 12 July 2016 - 07:43 PM The next selection of Sky sports live matches will hopefully be available early next week maybe even later this week. I have the provisional plans of matches to be broadcast but are awaiting on clubs to confirm rider and stadium availability first as obviously there may be some fixture movement in the run in to the play offs. The main reason there is no match next week is the Speedway production team are also responsible for Sky's Darts coverage so they are all up in Blackpool for the World Match play hence the big advert during the Speedway coverage last night. July also happens to be the end of the budget year at Sky Sports as well and some can be rolled over if any left in the pot "

  10. You have a right to be ignorant of course. That is absolutely not what I said and I'm disappointed that you make such a facile and inaccurate assumption. I have worked in television and need no lecture on its economics! My concern is that a major part of One Sport's motivation is to gain control of the SGP and SWC deals and are organising these events not only for the obvious and acceptable motive of profit but also to destabilise BSI. I suspect that keeping Emil Sayfutdinov in the SEC and out of the SGP may be part of this. Now I am no fan of BSI but I worry about a Polish takeover of the sport at the highest level. We have already seen the dubious exercise of economic power by the Polish clubs with their total disregard for the sport outside their own boundaries. We already have BSI feeding off the British clubs by using their assets to destabilise and force the EL to the point of ruin by taking weekend racing in particular. The last thing that we need is another rival organisation making the situation worse. Sometimes it's necessary to see the bigger picture. What I truly resent is the infantile attempt to belittle my sincerely-held and considered views based on nearly half a century's involvement in the sport in the manner that you have used. I thought you were one of the more intelligent posters. Clearly that was an error that I now regret. It distresses me to see how greedy eyes viewed what we had in Britain and have been working for years to take what we had. The success of this can be seen in the derelict state of the EL which is not merely the result of the BSPA's shortcomings. I don't have 'issues' with anything. I do have a problem taking people seriously who abuse the use of the word 'issues', but then we live in a world where calling a problem an 'issue' is a standard deflection tactic. "No boss, we don't have problems, but there are a few 'issues'. An issue is whether we remain in the EU, whether we allow legal abortions or fight for social justice. A problem is not an 'issue'. In any case I do not have a problem with One Sport, I have concerns and a distaste for how they do business though as most people would have if they had the brains to look beyond the end of their noses! I only have myself to blame for fooling myself that I was in intelligent company. I shall leave you all to bang the rocks together.
  11. You have those events while it suits One Sport. If they ever got their hands on the target of the SGP and SWC these events won't last five minutes.
  12. It was the same when the One Sport-organised World u-21 round was staged at King's Lynn. It was rapidly heading towards midnight but they still had to have the full gate choice ceremony rather than just gathering the riders off-camera and swiftly sorting it out. Sometimes you have to be pragmatic and cut the formalities. They didn't seem to be in a hurry to get things completed tonight and we lost out on the final as a result. Good racing though and well-worth watching. It's all about One Sport's business rather than the sport though.
  13. Giving a link to the channel's schedule online showing that it wasn't listed is a little more than a 'hint', even by your standards. Eurosport coverage was originally listed in the UK as starting at 5.30. Now 6 pm.
  14. So, four more meetings scheduled on Sabmar - Opole 24.07 next. Well worth keeping an eye on these people. I researched a little. It's a very ambitious legal online TV service, seemingly only advertiser and click-funded with far more than speedway on there. These speedway programmes aren't cheap to produce to this quality so it'll be interesting to see if they can keep it up. Bear in mind the nsport coverage that we see commands a hefty subscription over there, although I think TVP Sport is free to air, but TVP is the Polish state broadcaster. Either way their incomes will be a great deal higher so the quality of what we've seen is quite remarkable for their business model.
  15. When there is the will it's possible. Judging by the celebrations after heat 17, that's the title decided. Congratulations to Daniel Kaczmarek! Having thoroughly enjoyed this outfit's work this weekend it looks like their website will be worth monitoring. http://sabmar.tv/
  16. The senior championship had a a semi and final. If not, Daniel Kaczmarek's on the brink of a surprise.
  17. It seems to actually be a regular online TV station. Very good quality.
  18. Yes, but they're not exactly overwhelmed with home fixtures over there are they? They really don't seem to be interested in meetings that aren't league or GP over there. Thanks, we're already watching it. racers and royals kindly provided the link some time ago.
  19. I'm asked this question all the time................... Ahem, I expect that will be the main Eurosport Portuguese service, in which case their website isn't good reading. No sign of it in the schedule: http://tv.eurosport.pt/ You could always try this, but make sure you have an adblocker running on your internet browser. http://www.stream2watch.co/live-now/live-tv/gb/eurosport-1-live-stream
  20. As I mentioned earlier nsport+ are showing highlights tonight so they may end up on You Tube. Sadly Telewidzjada's still talking about charging so there's no obvious live link.
  21. Sorry, I meant Tarnow - hoping that was as good as the pairs. Obviously we're getting nothing. No great loss since it was that joke Faluvaz outfit. There is a website link below the "Live stream is coming soon" caption but that requires a login. I expect we'll get the same quality of coverage in Czestochowa tomorrow. Looking into Sabmar TV it seems they've streamed quite a few meetings during the season.
  22. Coverage of the pairs is to full TV standard - very impressive for a free online stream. Let's hope for similar in Torun. As ever the Poles don't seem interested in turning out for anything other than league matches or GPs.
  23. It also looks like the Polish Junior Championship at Czestochowa tomorrow will be broadcast live on Sportyowe Fakty. 14.45 CET, 1.45 pm UK. http://sportowefakty.wp.pl/zuzel/615628/transmisja-telewizyjna-z-finalow-mmppk-i-mimp-na-wp-sportowefakty
  24. This one's intriguing. nsport+ are showing a 30 minute highlights show at 22.00 CET (9 pm UK) so this may well be an online only feed of their full coverage or may be a local video firm without full commentary and graphics. Ironically while the match is live they're showing replays of last year's football Champions League group matches. Then after the 30 minute programme they're showing a full replay of the Polish Championship. It must be a case of rights - cheaper just to carry it online with a later highlights show on the main channel. Time will tell. Thanks for the alert. Not cold enough. Has anyone noticed that when they open the doors at Arena a little light goes on?
