  1. Looks like you can delete Jack Holder's name from the programme on Sunday. Sportowe Fakty in Poland are reporting that Torun are handing him a full-time place from Sunday following his paid 16 in his debut last week. https://sportowefakty.wp.pl/zuzel/702676/kolejne-dobre-wiesci-dla-kibicow-get-well-torun-terminski-dopial-swego-w-sprawie
  2. Looks like Torun have freed Jack Holder of his British Sunday commitments with Peterborough. Money talks. https://sportowefakty.wp.pl/zuzel/702676/kolejne-dobre-wiesci-dla-kibicow-get-well-torun-terminski-dopial-swego-w-sprawie Google Translation: Get Well Toruń reported in social media that Jack Holder is flying to Poland. Talks on this matter lasted quite a long time, but the most optimistic scenario was fulfilled. On Wednesday, the odds of Jack Holder starting in the match against Vitcherif CrossFit Czestochowa were 50 in 50. The Toruns were doing everything they could to keep the Australian on Sunday. Riding old seniors was definitely a safer option for Jacek Frątczak . - The situation changed very quickly. Once it seemed that it was going to be okay, and in a moment there were problems again. However, we were very consistent and succeeded - the manager of Toruń tells us. Frątczak is very grateful to Przemysław Terminiński , who showed a great determination in Jack Holder's case. The effect is that Chris's younger brother will be able to perform not only on Sunday but also in other meetings, which the team will play until the end of PGE Ekstraligi . - He worked the whole team who did more than you could. The greatest merit, however, is the owner's side. It is Mr. Przemyslaw who has an interest, "stresses Fratczak. If Jack Holder scores another good performance on Sunday, then the operation for his appointment to the next game will not have to start again. The training staff has far more comfortable working experience. It is worth emphasizing that the Australian will have plenty of time to prepare for the meeting with the Fool. In Poland will appear on Friday and will be able to participate in the training, which was scheduled in the afternoon. One day later, he will have another chance to get acquainted with the specifics of Motoarena." No doubt his brother will now be giving him a good talk on the subject of loyalty.
  3. Looks like you'll be without Jack Holder on Sundays from now on. https://sportowefakty.wp.pl/zuzel/702676/kolejne-dobre-wiesci-dla-kibicow-get-well-torun-terminski-dopial-swego-w-sprawie Google translation: "On Wednesday, the odds of Jack Holder starting in the match against Vitcherif CrossFit Czestochowa were 50 in 50. 4. Not a 'tiff' just sick of having my goodwill abused.
  5. I'll be taking a break from this forum for significant personal reasons. You can only take certain people for so long, those who delight in confrontation and upsetting others. I hope you've enjoyed the help I've offered here and am sure you know where to look for yourselves in future.
  6. There is one thing stating facts, and another having the tact and intelligence to know when to post such facts are grossly insensitive. You have demonstrated over many years both here and in previous discussion groups that you have neither. You have overstepped the line here and if this forum were properly run you would be out on your backside for that. I realise your twisted 'fun' here is in stating garbage just to provoke reactions to satisfy your obviously deeply unpleasant needs. In fact you didn't just cross that line, you jumped over with both feet. You asked once who I was. I can tell you, I'm someone who would never behave like you do for your own sad gratification. Yes this IS attacking the poster, not the post, and you damn well deserve it you sickening low-life. Piss off. I'll probably earn a ban for this. As ever, it's the ones who provoke who get away with it and those who react who get hurt. The sport and this forum really, really would be better without you. You are a cancer in speedway.
  7. I posted the links to the articles in good faith, forgetting that it would just be abused by someone out to win arguments at all costs. Postings deleted - obviously a total waste of my time.
  8. There'll always be some kind of speedway running, as the NL proves. As you know, it offers a safe, low-cost alternative to dealing with primadonna riders. It's the top level tracks I'd worry about, to be honest...
  9. This week's 'shopping list' is an extensive one. If, IF various channels/You Tube providers upload as normal we should be set for up to nine meetings from this weekend: Sat 15th SEC Round 2, Gustrow Polish u-21, Rybnik Poznan v Lublin Sun 16th Bydgoszcz v Pila Gdansk v Lodz Krosno v Poznan Ostrow v Lublin Grudziadz v Gorzow Rybnik v Wroclaw The Lublin and Krosno fixtures depend on whether their local TV channels cover them, as they have done so far.
  10. Just taken a look on Google Earth at the proposed site and what an outstanding location! For those unfamiliar with Oldbury it's right by junction 3 of the M5 motorway where it meets the main road between Birmingham and Wolverhampton, the A4123 Birmingham New Road. Once more, good luck. It'll be a good deal easier for visitors to find than Dudley Wood.
  11. You therefore have to question whether they should be riding if they are so affected by imperfect tracks that others could handle.
  12. Now who was it put "non TV" against the fixture? Forgot the word 'live' I'm surprised "Speedway For All" has lasted this long, but very grateful.
  13. No, it appears to be a very odd situation. The deal with Sky appears to still be there, and they're paying what is due according to the contract but feel they cannot justify the additional cost of actually covering the meetings. Instead it seems a temporary deal has been made for a year for BT to cover the sport for free, with them taking on the costs of covering the events instead. So, it seems to be a very odd 'half and half' situation. Regarding last night, it's clear that we still have a dangerous situation where some riders are trying to control the sport. Despite the many failings of the BSPA this anarchy has to be ended and the riders concerned either shown who is in charge or are allowed to leave. I'm sure these antics would not be tolerated in Poland. The trouble is you then get naive fans whingeing about "watering down". We unfortunately, for now, have to lose those who are not committed to racing here or feel they can dictate what goes on. If it means a combined Championship/NL level league with weekly speedway, a full fixture list and stable teams of riders actually giving a damn about the sport and its customers then surely the most arrogant 'EL snob' will realise it has to be better than what happened last night. It has to be a case of "Do it our way or go".
  14. I remember going to a meeting at Rayleigh on an off night (Monday rather than Saturday) for a challenge match against Canterbury. It didn't matter that it wasn't for league points, it was a chance to see an extra match against local rivals. Most importantly it was a bonus night's speedway! Now people would be far too busy coming up with reasons not to go, usually sneering at a 'meaningless' meeting. Progress?
  15. A Google Translate version of Sportowe Fakty's story suggests his B sample is being analysed and the results will be made public on Monday. If it is positive he faces a potential four year ban, but it would be lower if he could prove the substance was taken accidentally. Sorry, it doesn't look good.
  16. Seems NSport+ did have cameras at Rybnik on Wednesday night. I think we can safely assume that any matches not shown live will turn up later in a half hour, all 15 heat format, as with Speedway For All's version. On that note, Rybnik v Zielona Gora: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uuts1VjIicY
  17. They appear to have so far, and I hope they do. I have no axe to grind with this promotion but I am concerned at their naivety when it comes to the sport. I'm sure they know business and other sport thoroughly. I still care about the old place and was looking forward to making the odd trip over from the West Country since the promotional change but personal circumstances won't allow. There have only been three home meetings since that opening flurry in April so it is still early days, but this must be the most disjointed fixture list since the training track challenge days pre-1974. People do find other things to do. We had our problems in the 90s but at least you knew we would be there almost every Sunday, well, as long as Ron could fend off the bank manager on the Monday morning. To an outsider like BMR the priority was to get into the top league. There have to be question marks on whether Rye House is the right place, but if the facilities are being upgraded and with the abject lack of other first or second tier tracks in the London area they have a large market to draw on. I just hope this fixture list doesn't wreck it all. I will always miss the blue and gold....All that's left of Rayleigh now is the rocket
  18. How long will people pay £17 to watch a competition that was actually being decided in the pits rather than on track? British Speedway will only recover when it realises you cannot keep giving the paying public poor value for money. Did ANYONE think of the paying public tonight? Poole got their four points so for too many that's all that matters. It isn't. It's said that the senior Aussies only race here to get visas. If so it shows, Doyle excepted.
  19. Speedway isn't football. Totally different markets and traditions.
  20. You may get an idea of how low things have got over here that a promoter who's been in place for a couple of seasons now couldn't understand what a friend was talking about when they mentioned team riding!
  21. That's okay, I wasn't sure exactly where the proposed site is. Dudley and Sandwell boroughs were political conveniences created in 1974 as part of the creation of the West Midlands County. I remember in my time in the area (late 70s) the biggest challenge for the latter was trying to let people know where the hell Sandwell was... There are few areas like the Black Country, and it deserves its speedway team and track back, no matter which side of an artificial line it sits ;-) I wish you all well and pray the nightmare will soon be over.
