  1. An interesting night, especially welcome after L1 last night. The Friday night matches are those not fancied by the main media partner, NSport so let's hope their judgement is right and we get an even better Sunday.
  2. Leszno have thrived on finding outstanding young riders such as the Pawlicki brothers and more recently Smektala and Kubera. They are an incredibly powerful speedway team.....it's just that Zielona Gora have a habit of defying odds. Yet they can crumble at home as they did against Czestochowa. Either way, a one-sided stroll to the title is not what we want, especially since most of us, I suspect, are neutral observers. I hope Falubaz or Wlokniarz can put up a fight. I sadly can't see anyone else even slightly troubling them. Mind you, Lublin keep ,defying logic...
  3. I'd be careful. They are by far the best side but bear in mind Zielona Gora held them to 47-43 which if repeated in a play-off would give Falubaz a good chance to beat them over two legs.
  4. I used to watch Joe Screen racing round Czestochowa in the 90s on Polsat. Wonderful stuff, as if Hyde Road hadn't closed.
  5. I wouldn't waste your time reading anything Falubaz writes......
  6. There really only seems to be one racing style in Poland - flat out. Perhaps a lack of riding on technical tracks with less than perfect surfaces leads to a 'one-dimensional' approach and might explain why the Poles produce so many international riders but so few champions.
  7. The Polish article is in part directed at Grigori Laguta for avoiding test laps and allegedly avoiding fuel testing. He's had enough problems with authority for there to be a problem, surely?
  8. It's been suggested that riders like Jason thrive on riding regularly so maybe just one meeting a week isn't suiting him.
  9. Have you heard anything about the nitro rumours reported by Sportowe Fakty, Dean? Of course they're NOT directed at Madsen.
  10. Don't know about just letting half the crowd in, Czestochowa seem to have only let half the team in.........
  11. They've also replaced Iversen with the returning Miedzinski. Funny how they managed to get relegated, eh? Suggests something was badly wrong behind the scenes. Normally relegated clubs shed the best riders while promoted clubs strengthen, like Lublin and Grudziadz in recent years. This season it didn't happen. There have been far too many walkovers in both of the top leagues this year.
  12. He was a promising u-21 rider for Zielona Gora but seemed to be struggling in senior ranks - until now.
  13. By the way, there is speculation that certain riders in Poland are using nitro methane, which I haven't heard of for a while. I remember one start marshal complaining after a meeting "Someone's on nitro - smells like pig.........dung" (I cleaned that one up). Nothing to do with Laguta's winning margin of course. Just an idle thought. https://sportowefakty.wp.pl/zuzel/893694/zuzel-wraca-temat-dopingu-technologicznego-na-tapecie-butelki-z-nitro-ekspert-mo
  14. Still Czech, and likely to be a cancelled one soon. A promising career seems to have stalled in the past couple of years.
  15. Stop whingeing about your scorecard Dave ;-) (Obviously a hungry man)
  16. The lower infection rate which allowed crowds to be re-admitted was an amazing achievement by the Polish promoters. Are you sure you'll get all the Polish matches?
  17. No, Sabmar do well. Not all minor stations are accidents waiting to happen. Don't have a lot of speedway this year though. Over here, away from sport, Talking Pictures is run by a father and daughter from a garden shed. Doesn't have to be elaborate to work. We were very low budget but always delivered the product on time .
  18. They seem to be similar to the Motors TV channel in content and style, and that ended messily.
  19. Well, I wouldn't drink what they were brewing He was ex-BBC so knew what he was doing Sadly I am teetoal these days - not by choice (no, not due to over-use either).
  20. How the hell can you be that certain? Ridiculous lazy negativity.
  21. King's Lynn poor relations? Utter rubbish. After Robert winning a major title they can call him anything.
  22. Sadly I doubt his employers would be too impressed if he employed the direct sell about pricing. There's only so far you can go with endorsements but I'd suggest the occasional mention such as "I read in Speedway Star" as you suggest would probably get through. It all depends on station policy. I once got in trouble for borrowing a colleague's tie from wardrobe when I'd forgotten mine. "NEVER wear that tie - I get paid every time I wear it on air!" I looked carefully and along the edge of a stripe was the name of a prominent brewery..... Product placement/endorsement can be a very touchy subject in TV.
