My favourite memory of the old New Hammond Beck track at Boston was the world's most rickety ladder leading up to the Ref's box, which seemed to be hung underneath the roof of the big stand there.
I know I was only a youngster when I used to watch Boston there and saw the ladder every week, but even now, when I turn right out of our road and can see the Empire State Building over in the distance, I'm *still* convinced that that ladder to the Ref's box could reach about half-way up the ESB!
Always loved our away trips to Exeter myself, even though it generally meant a hammering, and in latter years I've enjoyed going to Buxton for both the views all around you, the beautiful drive up there, and the fact that it just 'feels' like a Conference league track ought to feel!
