  1. 1st time at Berwick for some years. Hardly changed. Quite liked the format. Makes the back end of the meeting, even more competitive and you must have a strong 3/4 riders. Young Flinty looks a star in the making. I expected not many passes, but the racing was still quite competitive. Overall, enjoyed it!
  2. 2 are coming from Sheffield if the away team needs a Duo of support.
  3. Erm, Thinking of booking the double header at Berwick, anyone got any info if there will be any Eastbourne travelling up that day?
  4. I went last night, and also went to the Ipswich match. Those are the first speedway matches ive been to since the Sean Wilson, Andre compton days. (yes, a while ago) The racing back then was usually gate and go. Sheffield generally picked alot of Racers than the smaller track specialists. There obviously wasnt alot of passing last night, but if you put your back into it, then you got the reward. With how warm conditions were, the track looked great, super grippy and fast, wasnt throwing up any dust. But i would like to see it more slicker and a real dirt line on the outside. Will enjoy my future visits as a neutral.
  5. Martin Smolinksi has put this in FB whilst looking for a mechanic. Translation We are looking for support for the speed performance team Full-time or part-time: - Speedway Germany - Longtrack Germany - Speedway Grand Prix First Reserve - PL League in negotiation Peterborough or Ipswich mayb...
  6. Thank you, yes, im buying the 2019 ones and the middle summer GPs was very good,
  7. Not sure if this is the best place to put this topic but asking for some help. Ive bought a relative who isnt very well (dementia) the speedway gp dvds from 2016 2017 2018, which have all the GPS and SON. But which GP's or SON events would you say was the best from these years, really dont want to watch the gate and go events. But any help would be appreciated.
  8. Perhaps im in the minority what enjoys the sky coverage on tv and without it, i probably wouldnt be able watch any speedway at all. It could be with alot of tweaking, and from a neutral perspective, we see just random matches, british final and then a playoff at the end of the season. Could do with a weekly show, what covers all the leagues, U21, grand prix qualifiers etc, more in depth program which will get the casual viewer more interested in speedway. (this may cost alot, and if sky dont make much from speedway, then not going to be worth it) The price for going to a speedway match has become to expensive compared to how much it was and in comparison to other things, it for me has become a luxury. What sort of product will we see this year if sky shows matches? I actually dread to think, top riders gone, reserves at national league level. Going to be a long time before we see an actual Elite league standard match. Give the premier league alot more coverage and we may be onto a winner in a few years.
  9. Drop kurtz and find someone else? Simples.
  10. Huge signing in Wolbert! Which other ex Monarchs will you be signing...
  11. " There is a firm emphasis on British youth, as all ten clubs will be tracking two riders from a list of rising stars selected by national senior and Under-21 officials." So it could possibly be alot of youngsters who could be picked as the stars of tommorow, Cook, Auty, Newman, Howarth, Garrity? I know some of these arent U21, but i suppose everything depends on if its gonna be a set criteria or flexible
  12. Think we gotta let them release a full statement before getting to over excited at seeing a national league rider go should to shoulder with Holder and Ward etc.... Hopefully its along the lines of those who have been in recent British U21 finals or Under 25, British and not yet gone Elite on a permanent occasion. May just give some riders who arent upto a consistant premier league level a new lease of live to gain the confidence again.
  13. So what actually constitutes a national league rider? Is it going to be a premier league rider with a average under X amount (who is eligible) and under a certain age? Hope they change the national league eligibility just so the elite league isnt going to be a joke.
  14. Any news? If cook goes full time Elite and around continent, who will the Monarchs get for there number 1? Wolbert, Fisher, try again with Masters?
  15. So why after a long time are we see ing more and more clubs linked with making the step up to Elite league now than in years gone by? Surely with a potential no sky deal, it would put teams off? What other incentives are there to go Elite? Is everything down to what teams pay riders per point, thus making the Elite league less lucrative in years gone by than now? Id love to watch real racing on sky every week than the usual snore fest. Get the racing tracks on sky from the prem like somerset and sheffield etc My memories of going to Sheffield every week and the joys of when the top boys came to town was brilliant, PLRC's, Nothern riders champs, and they held a big invitational when Rickardson, Crump, Sullivan, Hammil came to town and im sure Hamill won in 99/00? Great to see that program again. Were promtions to scared to move up in the glory days incase of failure? Had the tracks, potential riders waiting there, fans and sky willing to pay the money to see them. Just hope British speedway can get back to some sort of level it used to be and compete on a world stage it can and has before.
  16. They just need to freshen it up a little, perhaps a weekly round up show, highlights from some of the elite league matches of the past week which wasnt shown on sky. Cover premier league and National league in the round up to show just what british speedway is and how British riders progress through the system. 2 of the best matches ive seen this year was the premier league matches at Somerset and Berwick. Well prepared tracks, lots of passing and real racing. Be great to see more premier league matches on sky at the other racers track like Sheffield, Scunny etc Show more individual and other meets like the pairs, 4 team tournament, British Final qualifiers, British U21 final. Freshen it up a little but still make the Elite league the prime player but still show what British Speedway is about. Just a few little thoughts.
  17. Think alot depends on wether Hancock or Gollob retires after this series and weather either or both be in the top 8 etc. Holder is gonna need a wildcard and deserves his as he would of been a definet to be in the top 8 anyway. Some swede, wether FL,AJ etc World U21 champ if has expierence on the world stage or MJ, or MJJ etc. Exciting rider who will give it everything!
  18. Whats the crack, for lets say NKI, KK, and Zagar all stay in the top 8 and are the top 3 in the challenge? Will it go to the next 3 riders? Must there be at least 1 brit, dane, swede, aussie, pole in every GP series? Whats the criteria for min requirment of nations? Holder/Ward must get a wildcard if they dont get through. Hancock or Gollob if neither get in. Dont want both. 3+4 Fresh new blood who do well at the challenge but fail to get through,Jankowski/MJJ, Vaculik probably deserves another chance
  19. Please please make this track, big, wide and fast and get the next lot of riders for the future ready for the real riquors of speedway!
  20. Should the BSPA or who ever runs the speedway in this country be setting up "franchises" or links with clubs in Poland, Czech, Russia and the other big track countries, so a certain amount of GB riders race out there and they come here to learn the smaller tracks. Everyone benefitting from the same thing and instead of being funded and owned by a club, they could be owned by there own federation? I know some of this may not be possible or realistic.
  21. Should there be a quota of x amount of brits in 1 side, or 2 brits under 24 in the 1-7? The lack in depth of world class rider on these shores is shocking! These are the guys we need to bring here so our young riders have something to beat and strive towards. Back to where there was 2/3 GP riders in most teams and 3 8-10pt heat leaders. I know a few of these will never happen again. But at least back then, british riders had a chance to be the best in the world as they was always riding against some of the best in the world and had to get better/improve to be able to beat them week in week out.
  22. Put this on reply to another post... Hope the BSPA and all those involed with GB speedway will sit down after this and all say to them selfs "How do we bring elite british speedway riders through the system" and keep them there at the top. Not just me, but i could name at least 10 riders throughout the 90's/early 00's that could sail into the GB team. Probably only Tai who is worthy of his place, but Harris(few year ago)Loram/Louis/Screen/Dugard/Norris/Barker/Smith/Nicholls(02-04)/Rico/Stonehewer/Havelock/Tatum/Wilson could easily get in that team and replace all the other squad members. Are British Speedway failing British riders and getting the next crop of talented quality riders through to the GP's and be top Elite league riders?

  24. Without going through all 20 pages, who in the last few seasons, has the best average and record at Kings Lynn between Kennet, Bridger, King, Barker, Cook.
