George had a frustrating start today having his NO 1 engine sieze in the workshop but was also boosted by being told that he had been selected for this years ACU Academy. George has been invited to Buxtons press and practice day and is looking forward to putting in some laps after spending the winter playing rugby for Sturminster Newton High School and football for Stalbridge U15s. He has found training with the football team on wednesday nights helpful and also has the backing of his school for this season as he turns 15 during the summer who have made there gym available for him. Many thanks to both Buxton and Plymouth for offering the track time this coming season

500cc And U15's
Wildcat Steve replied to sCATygirl!'s topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
Hi everyone sorry not been about much been busy on the farm plus had trouble with computer am in poole library at the mo I know it all seems a bit frustrating but I think in time it will work well and we are now leading in speedway with something and the rest of the speedway world is watching with Intrest. George and other riders will be demonstrating the 250 bikes for the Swedish and Dainish speedway authorities this month. We could see a Championship in Europe this season with a world championship in the near future. We are always complaining how we are behind with Peter and the Junior lads we are setting the pace and giving the youngsters quality track time and excellent oppertunities and something to aim for before they step onto a 500. I must say that I am looking forward to seeing how this develops and have enjoyed beeing involved with it from the start I have changed my tel number and any one wanting to contact me can now do so on 07933506027 will get it put on Georges site Take care Steve -
Sorry Chris you can beat me up next time you see me

Academy League Final

What a brilliant day and nerve racking in the pits with a roller coaster of emotions from the Buffallo lads they were so gutted after George and Joes disaster heat 5 but they came back from the changing rooms for the evening event so positive and belived in themselves. with George and Brendan starting the come back and then poor titch he had not been in the meeting was thrown into a vital heat cold He was waiting by the pits gate with Ben Reade with the whole team round him geeing him up. he went out there with all that pressure and did the job with ben man of the match in my books. Big thanks to the fairys you were great amazing support nice to meet you all before the meeting by the pits -

Interesting Development
Wildcat Steve replied to Neil H's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
The idea is it would be a the step up from a 125. The lads tested the 250 and it did not seem "peaky and probably dangerous." The view was totally the opposite Dont think the idea was to force riders to get one but more to add another dimention to racing. Rider can learn the art of controlling the bike on something that handles like a 500 without the lift and drive that would dump them in the fence. A lot of people were saying that we should be using the 80cc bikes used in Sweden but when used at Poole they were to small for our tracks. We are not in the position here of having plenty of junior tracks in this country. The 250 engine fits straight into a 500 frame so you are looking at standard speedway parts you are also setting bikes up like a standard speedway bike. If the 250 gets the go ahead we will be looking at what classes and meetings were available and when to maybe buy a 250 engine and run classes/meetings alongside the 500 meetings we will already be doing with George stepping into the CL mid season next year. -

Interesting Development
Wildcat Steve replied to Neil H's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
George is out for the evening at Youth club but I can tell you the lads thought it was great. It rides like a 500 but when you hit a grippy patch it does not lift and throw you into the fence and Neil was right it took all the stick the lads could throw at it Dont think anyone with a 500 licence would not be forced to ride a 250. It has to be looked at and see what direction we should take with it. From my point of view it seems and ideal step from the 125 and fills that gap so riders dont jump straight onto a 500. Young and older novices can learn the skills they need from the 250 Ivan was also impressed with it. The 250 could lead to another dimention to racing with a 250 comp. We would consider a 250 engine for another class as the 250 drops into a standard frame. they are great fun the lads had a great time on it many thanks to Vaclav Verner for bring the bike to Buxton. He seemed to be having fun with it too even with all the rain dont think he ever stopped smiling -
George has recieved a major boost for next season from the Anglo Polish Agency after a disappointing finish to the U15 Championship after picking up his chest injury three weeks ago that has left him struggling for his usual form. Today the Anglo Polish Agency anounced that they have a Van as part of Georges sponsorship for next season. We will be handed the keys tomorrow morning and this will be a big help for next season and all the winter training schools. Many thanks to Ian and all at the Anglo Polish Agency for all their help this season and the continuing faith in George

You take your top three scores through to the final so Josh if he did not compeat at Sheffield would still go through with a maximum which shows his quality. We wish him a speedy recovery Steve, Rachel and George -
