Peter Craven Memorial 23/10/21
Phil The Ace replied to IainB's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
What a great meeting this was. A great way to end a good aces season with Dan winning. Dan was the quickest there and deserved it. Was good to see fricke again, he borrowed parts of everyone and just put 1 bike together, so did well to get third. The race he beat Dan on he was actually on crump bike. Great to also see crump, his score diddnt look to much but I think he did alright. The young German shown alot of promise and if I was lemon hes another I'd be asking to sign as we could need some 4 pointers. He was always in thick of thr action Harris what can I say. Some super riding and passes. Proper legend him Morris was putting himself in the shop window also, rode very well and had a great ride in 1 going last to first Every race had action and it had a belle vue winner. Cant ask for any more. I've put the 6 rider final on my social media @philtheace on twitter. Go take a look. Was a good race -
Dan Bewley said in press conference thst he would like to return next season. Max fricke in the press conference said he wants to ride at belle vue next season. do belle vue have a hard choice or will we go super top heavy

I meant the best first 4 heats to a meeting I've ever seen. Not best races -

Yes colts are at Leicester, but still plenty of NL riders about round the North. I'd take a guess that there will be no reserves -

At least they got a decent replacement and not a NL rider -

Weather dry all day. No worries at all -
Very good year jye had, but probably got an average slightly to high. But if he was signed I wouldn't be to disappointed, as long as he starts at reserve
-
There won't be 6 thats for sure. I actually think we will have 9 teams next year. 10 if we're lucky. Wolves have said they wont be racing if its 6 teams again. So it's either going to be 5 teams or 7/8/9/10 teams Belle vue Ipswich Wolves Kings lynn Sheffield Peterborough Poole Oxford Glasgow Eastbourne

Yep. Just been reading that.

Probably will be tbh, but we can all wish

He lived in Poland all year, but is now back in Manchester after the season finished. Until I assume he flies back to aus. Hes staying at ZG meaning he can rise in UK and Sweden next year, which gives him the opportunity to live back in Manchester Where's he's more comfortable -
So, at the weekend, in the son programme lemon said he was assessing his options going forward and hinted at standing down from both Australia and belle vue, I persoanlly hope he stays on at the club but gets a team manager in for race nights. Someone like Stewart dickson or rosco. Regarding the team, there's a real conundrum, with max wanting to return, we have Dan on a 9+ average so is it go top heavyband have both. Or does Dan drop UK and we replace him with max. What will the points limit be. They should certainly increase it and limit teams to 3 D/U only. Are we going 2 rising stars. And if so. In what context. Can you get any 2 or what. I think stevie needs away tbh, he's had some unwarranted abuse from aces fans. So for his mental health, if I was him I'd go elsewhere. I'd want this Bewley or kurtz if Dan's not back Richie Wright (maybe) Bangs Fricke Palin (rising star) Brennan (rising star)

Dan should win easy. Followed by max. ..then it's anyone's from kurtz, Becker, and Douglas. It's a 5 rider semi again I'm told and a 6 rider final. Which was epic last year. So look forward to that again. .the young German as had a fantastic season so looking forward to watching him. Gutted no Doyle to defend his crown but after last weekend he must have said sod this season. End it now. Was also hoping they could get Phillip bangs to ride but nevermind. -

He wants to be back, he lives in Manchester so makes sense really. But Dan is on a 9+ average so depending on team limits, probably cant have both. Although I'd love both to be in the team next season -

No line up yet, now the grand final and son is out the way, we shoukd start hearing names. I've heard fricke and crump are 2 names, There won't be any worralls as they are riding elsewhere. Hopefully we can get Philip hellstrom-bangs to make an appearance after the support he got this weekend. I'm sure Doyle will be in it to try and retain the title. Bewley probably to, Chris Harris maybe -
I've seen virtually every meeting from NSS since the start, very rarely have I seen it where the line is so close to the fence, it was very much like czestaowa (or however you spell it) Also, very rarely see any crashes if at all so to have 3 in 1 week is strange and both tonight was just due to riders not giving an inch. That's world championship speedway. Hope tai Jacob and pontus are OK. The 1 hour practice at 2pm was stupid. It was like having a full meeting before the meeting. That's why the dirt was so wide (NOT THE TRACK PREP) Andrew meredith did the track. NOT MORRIS 40 minutes from finish of practice to start time wasn't enough to bring the dirt back from the fence, as much as he tried, whats happened to the old school rakers, that's would have helped. Rain is set for 2am right through till 12pm, track will be very grippy with next to no passes. So if you thing today was boring (which it wasnt) then I'd plan to do something else at 4pm.

Belle Vue v Peterborough Panthers - Grand Final
Phil The Ace replied to Flappy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I'm currently putting myself through more pain by watching last night's final back. Doing this because being at the track you miss stuff, especially in the pits area. Peterborough were definitely more of a team. The spirit they had, all helping each other. All cheering each other. Showing more emotion. Obviously this could be just because the cameras were only concentrating on Peterborough side of things. But it's easy to see which team wanted it more for me. Sad to see -

Well done pussy cats, finished top and best team in play offs. What a season for you guys. Fuming with us though. Especially lemon. Heat 6 is baffling me and will do till my last breathe. Bewley and brennan thank you for at least showing up and trying. Rest were bullied far to easy on track for my liking. Having said that we did very well to get to a final with this team. -
