Phil The Ace replied to Rob B's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
But being serious for a second. I've heard harris will not be guesting now. Why I don't know though. Will be interesting to see Harris was listed as guesting on official belle vue website but since sky have announced they are showing the match on sky it's changed to Guest TBC...... Make of that what u will. I know what I'm thinking Remember, sky will do anything to give poole an advantage -

Belle Vue - Eastbourne Double Header Sep 15th
Phil The Ace replied to krompa's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Well what can u say about our captain fantastic tonight. Sublime, awesome, commited, a true captains performance and if we don't sign him next year it will be a travesty. His team rising skills is 2nd to non. Best performance from a Belle vue rider for a long time. big pat on the back to belle vue speedway to. Despite the tape problems it ran smoothly. And the track man did a superb job. I bet that was the best double header anywhere anytime. Kept dust to a minimum in second meeting so a big well done to them. And wow. We even had rakers. What's that about. Another small crowd though. They missed a treat and air play to the travelling eastbourne fans. Fantastic bunch of fans and all the best for your future ZAGAR - ok first meeting and good 2nd meeting and out in a heat 15. TOFT - OK first meeting and excellent 2nd meeting even if 1 of his races was gifted. He looked fast and determined out there and Deffo worth a team place next year. He improves every week and that is what matters NICHOLLS - Sublime and everything more. Fantastic. Well done WORRALL - up and down now. He's getting better but struggles in heat 14 where the track gets slicker COOK - Good first meeting and good 2nd. Solid throughout RESERVES - Poor again Believe it or not I think I would try and keep the same top 5 if we have decent reserves. What do you a think -

Belle Vue National Stadium

http://www.bellevueaces.co/newsitem.aspx?id=1252 Belle Vue bosses David Gordon and Chris Morton could not hide their delight when, at 2pm this afternoon, Manchester City Council unanimously granted planning permission for the Belle Vue Sports Village; at the heart of which lies the National Speedway Stadium. Described as a fundamental step forward, this historic milestone comes just 11 weeks after the planning application, the culmination of nearly eight years of patient work, was submitted on June 26th 2014. A small contingent of representatives from Belle Vue Speedway, including Gordon, Morton, George Carswell and Rentruck Aces No.1 Matej Zagar, were present in the council chambers in anticipation of this magic moment. The sense of anticipation amongst the small group was palpable as the chairman of the Planning Committee reached the agenda for the BVSV, and requested any objectors to the project to make their presence known. Nothing but the sound of silence was to be heard however, and in the swiftest of manners the motion was carried completely unopposed. Now it will be all systems go to begin visible work on the site on Kirkmanshulme Lane, next to the Rentruck Aces current home at the greyhound stadium, after the prolonged period of negotiations and planning behind the scenes. It is anticipated that, within the next 2-3 weeks, an on-site marketing office will be erected so that supporters can examine the plans and images of the NSS and find out more about this new era for the Belle Vue Aces. Gordon, thrilled at the successful outcome after so much time and effort, said: Weve done so much and there is still so much to be done, but receiving planning permission is a fundamental step forward so we can really get on with the job now. "We are extremely pleased that the scheme has received planning approval and now we're looking forward to the construction work commencing as soon as the post-planning formalities have been signed off. This is a significant time in Belle Vue Speedway's history. We are at the start of an exciting new era. It is very good news for Manchester, for Belle Vue and UK Speedway overall. "Once again, Manchester will lead the way with a world-class sporting venue. We will soon be able to release details of the start of activity on site, and the set-up which will include a marketing and information office where fans, sponsors and any interested parties can visit us and see at first hand the stadiums progress. They will be able to find out how to get involved with Belle Vue and National Speedway Stadium. -

2016 is the target. But any appeals could slow that up. But it was unanimous decision apparently so should be no appeals. -

Eh, I'm glad of the haters. Haters are there to be proved wrong. I just feel there is some unfair criticism. Yes it's taken far to long since the first announcement but remember it was the MEN thst leaked the stadium news. Belle vue wanted it kept quiet for a few years. The MEN really didd'nt help David Gordon and they didd'nt help yesterday. David Gordon was furious again with them yesterday -
