I said hi Shazzy, he remembers you too ......
-
Kent Boy - we are still attend the odd grasstrack but as far as I know Chris isn't in contact with the riders you mention. Keith Yorke - Chris says hi, he remembers you from his junior days.
-
Chris Tritton went on to have a very successful grasstrack career before retiring in 1999 after a serious accident. He now works as a courier and still lives in the Canterbury area. I know this because I'm married to him!!! I know he would be very interested if a Crayford reunion goes ahead this year.

Somewhere To Stay In Cardiff
Grassergirl replied to rach's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
We're staying at the campsite in the centre of Cardiff - I think its about 13 pounds a night and its within walking distance...... -
Work has recently started on the redevelopment of the whole Kingsmead site - nursery, entertainment and housing. Has been in the pipeline for a number of years now.

Trip To Prague....
Grassergirl replied to Phil's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Prague was fantastic !! We stayed at the Hotel Pyramida which was great - and within walking distance of the stadium (how we laughed at that tram queue on sat night!!). Also directly next to a tram stop so getting down into the town was no problem at all, will defo stay there again if (when!) we next go. Hotel seemed pretty popular with speedway fans, especially those from overseas, and also had a number of riders staying there ...... A special thank you to the fairies for sorting out the airport transfers - hope you got home OK ladies!! -
Apologies if this is covered elsewhere on the list, but with only a few days to go, I just want to get things straight!! We have two print-out tickets, do we just display these at the gate or do we need to swop them for "proper" tickets near the stadium?

Trip To Prague....
Grassergirl replied to Phil's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Fairy4ever - we are flying Gatwick to Prague with Easyjet but flight isn't until 11.40 (had an email a few days ago as the flight time had changed) if this is the same flight we'd be interested in sharing transport (we are staying at the Pyramida Hotel & there are 2 of us). -

Hotels For Gps
Grassergirl replied to sjw ministerofport's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Campsite is next to the cricket ground, don't know the name of it I'm afraid, but to get to the stadium its just a short walk along the river and through the park. Unfortunately it gets booked up well in advance, we all reserved our places for this year at last year's GP. Absolutely packed full of speedway fans and a great atmosphere! -

Prague 2005 Tickets On Sale...
Grassergirl replied to Phil's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I've just accessed the site via Phil's link, but although it says there are 4000 odd tickets available, it also says, not for sale and I can't work out how to get any further. Am I going mad? -
No room at the Inn? - Cardiff
Grassergirl replied to Jay's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
This might seem logical to some of you, but if you're working through a list of b&b's/hotels sent to you from the Cardiff tourist board make sure you start at the bottom .......... obvious when you think about it isn't it!!! Stayed at the campsite the last couple of years which has been great - and cheap but you do need to book well in advance. -
Czech GP - tickets?
Grassergirl replied to Grassergirl's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Thanks for that, I'll keep checking the sites until they're released. -
I've booked the flight tickets for our first GP abroad and we're pretty sure we know where we're going to stay, but can anyone tell me how I go about buying tickets to the GP itself? Thanks!

Chris Tritton rode at No 6 (I think) early 80's - had a successful grasstrack career until a bad injury in 1997. Still involved in grasstrack though, works as a Youth Coach for the ACU U21 squad.

He's been back riding on the grass this year after a long absence.

How was your GP day??
Grassergirl replied to Vincent Vega's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Thought Cardiff was fantastic, the best British GP in ages. Arrived around lunchtime, headed straight for our camp site and enjoyed a lazy afternoon in the sun with a bottle (or two!) of wine and a big BBQ. Walked to the stadium around 5.30 and bumped into a few people milling around outside the stadium. Had great seats on the 2nd bend (£40 tickets were worth it after all!) just in front of the Sky studio. Racing was fantastic and the crowd were amazing. Well, most of the crowd. We were unfortunate to have a group of men about 8 rows in front that hopefully weren't regular speedway fans - they were abusive and drunk and at the end of the meeting the security guard was actually assulted by these guys. Well done to the fans that went to his aid, he came back on duty so was obviously not too shaken up. I think it was the same group that was involved in the trouble in Yates after the meeting. First time I've ever seen trouble at a meeting (except for on the track or in the pits!) and it left a bad taste in the mouth. Anyway, roll on next year - bigger and better!! Does anybody know an official attendance figure for the meeting?
