Hi paulr thx for replying I would not want to reveal the rider in question as that would be very unproffessional on my part but he was actually nominated by the majority of riders to speak on their behalf as in their opinion the work done by us, on their suggestion, on the track by going the opposite way was the best way of getting the surface as good as possible for the semis.

Everyone can have their own spin on what happened but still turn up next year to go to what is the biggest and best G/P. Obviously the track comments are the most important to me as I have helped Colin for the last four years and the biggest bee in my bonnet is the fact on Friday afternoon,at 3pm, there is a perfectly solid track properly prepared waiting for the G/P bandwagon on Sat night on the world stage. 5 30pm Fri we have a track totally knackered after 2 and a half hours of, imo.a totally unnecessary practice. We have all heard riders say time after time the track is never the same on race day as it was on practice these guys are riding the same machines 4 or 5 times a week against the same riders 4 or 5 times a week so why bother. The track at Parken proved you can have a good indoor meeting if you spend money on proper shale this material has been stored in a warehouse for at least 8 years and used only for G/P meetings. Cardiff material is not shale it has virtually no clay content but as is normally the case its cheap cos it is from a quarry only 10 miles away.I totally agree we should make sure someone in the upper echelons of the G/P and British speedway promotions provide Colin with a decent material to work with.I know you guys and girls don,t enjoy seeing your favourite riders get hurt but it isn,t always us guys that are in the wrong although we are always the fall guys. Answering the grading for the two semi,s, on Ole,s instruction after one rider (in the final) complained, we went the opposite way round two move the quite deep loose material out to the fence off the racing line, hope this answers the question. I think the track this year was the best its been as it didn,t cut up really badly until the last third of the meeting but as I said earlier when you got c**p material it aint gonna stay in the cost of transporting proper stuff into Wales now the fuel as gone through the roof is going to be a big problem for all promoters but its got too be done I am looking forward too next year already ,if I get asked after this long post, as there is no where in the G/P calendar that matches the BRITISH cheers folks Mick

You so called fans want your,e collective heads knocked together and a very large kick up the arse Floppy versus Lee was never an issue with the team selection, cos if it was, steady and chris would already have been selected 2 1/2 pages of some very uncomplimentary postings concerning lee and not one of you has the balls to come on and personally apologise to a rider who obviously wasn,t fit but rode his heart out so FANS ???like you have a chance of seing us in the final. No disrespect to B/V fans ,who I notice have,nt stuck the knife in ,I think if Floppy is fit he should replace Joe. Also would you bring Mark into the equasion and if so who would you drop. Congrats to all the Brits last night inc Middlo hope we can go on to win good luck . I will look forward to some serious grovelling now if you all got the bottle.

Hi everyone sorry I waved to my two sons on the 4th bend obviously it upset some sad peoplebut I can ensure you I did and always do know what I am doing. First question the wonder wheel has never or will ever be used on a temporary track as the surface has to be packed and rollered constantly until it is hard enough to stay in and the wheel would just rip it to pieces making for a very unsafe track . I thought this info might be of interest to those of you who like to deal with figures. The track itself was laid from early tuesday morning to middle of the afternoon wed total of 2660 tonnes of shale was put down which arrived at various times day and night on a fleet of trucks 136 all together. Each truck when it arrives drives round and round the track for a short while packing down the previous load which has been levelled and graded then tips his load and goes off for another this system is repeated until C/M is happy with the outcome .Personally i think this year was the best temp track I have worked on well done Colin. The water truck when it disappeared down the tunnel didn,t come on by accident we water the concrete slip way down into the pits to keep dust down.Middlo isn,t the only famous face to get done we managed to catch Ole on practice Friday. As the surface is so slick we only grade from the outside to inside every 4th race as per Sky request these 4 ht gaps are also in place for normal league meetings hope this has been of interest cheers Mick F.T.M.

British Wildcards for Cardiff
Fat Tractor Man replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I would give the 2 spots to the guys who qualified from the weekend i.e. pick 2 from 3 of David Norris Stuart Robson or Chris Neath unfortunately Stuart ,who is having the best E/L season of his career so far, is classed as never going to get as top line by the majority of Bees whingers which will probably have done his chances no good whatsoever but the true supporters know you will always get 100% plus in every race from him and I think he deserves a big stage to ride on .The other spot is very hard too choose I would go for David simply because he is performing really well this year and he aint getting any younger whereas Chris will just keep improving into hopefully a regular top flight rider and he has age on his side.I would also throw Joe Screen into the hat who is much improved now he is back where he belongs (B/V) thats 2 from 4 now without even trying I sure as hell wouldn,t want to be Middlo .Don,t forget peeps whoever we get to watch at Cardiff we support long and hard to get a Brit on top .cheers all Mick -

Replacement for Mark Loram??
Fat Tractor Man replied to rob's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Hopefully Mark will make it back in time but if he don,t I think all us Brits have got to throw our weight behind Lee Richardson and Scott Nicholls plus any other Brit rider who may get a wild card irrespective of who you support normally. Both Lee and Scott are going to be very close to winning the Grand Prix series in the near future and hopefully one or the other may win it outright soon .Trick seems to have developed a chink in his set up this season and with Billy H missing out I think either of our two young hungry for success lads have more than a fair chance of upsetting their more illustrious opponents good luck both....
