  1. Didn't you just contradict your own point there??
  2. That's doing a disservice to primary school kids. They are way more cutting than starman's clown and takes one to know one efforts. I don't post very often but read every day but just recently starman has excelled himself in misreading, misinterpreting and missing the point. Pure class!
  3. There are quite a few youth riders to look out for in the future alongside Harry and the Thompsons. To name a few - Jolyon West, Leon Flint, Jordan Palin, Jason Edwards, James Hitchen, Sam Stead, Kean Dicken. Watched these guys at every youth round as my son races in it. He managed to lead one of the Thompsons for a lap! A lot of hard work and practise needed to get near their level. Also, brilliant to see Chris Harris taking the Thompsons and Kyle Roberts under his wing in his new race team. A fantastic opportunity and hopefully might inspire some other riders to get involved in the youth programme
  4. Yh we usually do them. Just can't make tomorrow. Richard does a great job!
  5. This is fantastic news. My son rode in this years series and absolutely loved it. It is organised brilliantly, runs super smoothly and everyone is friendly and helpful. Can't wait for next season!
  6. Haha didn't think that through re engine failure lol
  7. It's all a bit conspiracy theory for me. He hit the fence pretty hard with the bike going away from him. I think he was probably more concerned with making sure he was Ok. Holder probably wouldn't have beaten kildemand, I'll agree on that but I don't think woffinden was particularly thinking that at the time. This could be pretty academic depending on when the red lights went on. I can't remember tbh.
  8. Back and chest injuries but conscious and alert is the latest I've seen.
  9. If tai was going to help holder would he really have fallen like that risking injury and machine? It was clear that he picked up unexpected drive entering the corner which sent him wider and deeper than he wanted. Surely an engine 'failure' or a simple slide off would have been easier and less risky rather than a high speed off a few feet from the fence?
  10. About 0.1 difference in their EL averages (7.1 to 7.2) but in the PL conversion Poole gain nearly a point on Coventry. Newman - 4.1 garrity 5.0 (ish for both!)
  11. But by going to the tapes he surely indicates he's ready to race. Isnt it the riders responsibility to be appropriately equipped at this point? Really don't know what the answer is tbh just trying to give an alternative I guess! The rest of your statement I'm in total agreement with!
  12. Once he had thrown the goggles away and rolled up to the tapes it was his intent to race without the appropriate equipment. It's not the refs job at that point to stop him is it? It was Newman's choice to do so and therefore once the race started he should have been excluded. That he wasn't is the bone of contention...
  13. Surely matt ford knew how upset north was without a medical certificate to say so? Couldn't he just given him compassionate leave anyway??? Hmmmmm...
  14. Two days of grass track on 8/9th august at donington park. Saturday 8th is youth and vintage classes, Sunday 9th is adult and sidecar classes. Usually 2 days of quality racing and pretty sure its free entry ☺
  15. Youth riders competing in the championship also have to have both the ACU licence and scb permit. £98 before turning a wheel! Way to encourage youngsters to compete
  16. Parrys International Wolves have received information this morning that Piotr Pawlicki is unable to race this evening owing to illness. While we find this disappointing- less than 24 hours after he scored a 15 point maximum in the World Under 21 Championship-and the second successive meeting he has been absent after a 100% commitment record previously it would be unwise to make any further comment until we have spoken at length with his Polish manager Krystian Plech who had arranged to travel with Piotr this morning and will still be attending tonight. With the unavailability of any suitable guest Wolves will operate the rider replacement rule to cover his absence with all team members eligible to take a ride This was just posted on wolves website. Much as I love to watch piotr this is a disgrace. If he can't be arsed then time to say goodbye.
  17. will be there with my son #13 in the youth class looking forward to it
  18. [e name=Halifaxtiger" post="2420405" timestamp="1395709506] Despite the score line, a very entertaining meeting on a superb track with some excellent presentation thrown in. A good night spoilt only by some a*seh*le breaking into my car. Someone tried to get into our car too. Thank god for toughened glass But it made for an expensive night.
  19. Looking for a set of kevlars for my son. He is 12, about 5'1" and skinny as lol. He is racing grasstrack and flattrack this season and I would like him to have some better protection as he gets quicker! Thanks
  20. Surely if they don't say they want their protected asset before the first round pick then Newman will revert to being part of the 'unprotected' list and as such would be free for the other teams to pick in the first round...or is that too obvious??
  21. Hi Only just seen this. Have you still got the Kevlar available? What size are they and how much would you want for them? Cheers
  22. Wouldn't say most, some definitely. Most passes are made by choosing a different line to the rider in front to generate more speed or gain a better track position by which to make a pass. From what I saw, finding different lines at leicester may prove trickier, leaving pressure to force mistakes as giving the better chance of passing.
  23. As I said earlier, my first visit last night so totally impartial in the track debate. For me, last night there was a lot of close racing and there were 3-4 passes coming off the 4th bend but are there any other lines for riders to pass on or at least use? It seemed very much a one line in and out - miss the line and get passed or lose ground. Bjerre's pass on Toft was the result of great pressure leading to Toft going too wide - couldn't quite believe 'the best race ever' tag because if I heard that as a first timer I may not be attending again.
  24. Same here. First visit and very impressed with the set up, also got a goodnight from the car park staff. Pretty slick presentation too. Overall, not sure about the track - maybe the excitement of supporting my team took a bit away from the experience. Will give it a few more visits though. One downer was the fact that for me and my two kids (10 and 7) it was more expensive than going to Wolves!
