  1. Yeah, I should have realised Sheffield United were playing, didn't occur to me. As I don't know the area very well I was not aware the Sat Nav would take us past Brammall Lane. It seems weird that it gets us the exit the M1 at Chesterfield rather than carrying on. Not a complaint, there are no speed cameras on the National Speed Limit A road, where as the M1 has been "Smart Motorwayed".
  2. Thanks, wasn't sure which team Ellis rode for. Brummies have fixtures on 28/08 (Berwick) & 04/09 (can't remember, recent rainoff, Scunthorpe maybe). So he could miss both.
  3. The Dansk Metal website is bad enough to negotiate on a PC, impossible on a phone. Ellis likely to miss any Brummies home fixtures?
  4. Really? Thought King looked down on power. Kemp & Kennedy were awful. McDonald broke two chains on the start line. I thought Glasgow were very poor, I don't really know how Sheffield granted them a sniff of a point when Glasgow hit back with two 5-1's (heat 8 for sure & the Tac Sub Cook heat either 7 or 9) as watched from the fourth bend rather than by the gate for a change. Cant tell who drops the clutch first from there.
  5. So any news on who is guesting for the injured Richie Worrall? Scorpions visit the Bandits & Rebels host Sheffield. So no guests from those teams. If I understand rules 8.66 is guest average allowance which rules out Kennett, Masters & Ross of those not involved at the nights other meetings. Can we get Charles Wright please
  6. Bit underwhelming today, but if the commute is that painless might do it a little more next season. Thought Glasgow were poor, Sheffield hit them hard early & they seemed to have no answer. Was disappointed in both Bickley & Kemp if they're the future of British Speedway, savour Woffinden while you can. When Kemp missed the gate in heat 8 having heard about his track craft I thought this could be good. The Glasgow reserve & #2 had done nothing upto that point but he just went backwards. The Glasgow reserve & #2 did nothing else. Todd Kurtz impressed, didn't think he was that good. Sedgeman rode really well in heat 12 to keep Palm Toft at bay but protect McDonald who was good, less can be said about his primary chain supplier. Not sure what happened to Jensen in heat 13, didn't think anyone was near him. Don't know what happened in the rerun either. King definitely dropped the clutch before Cook yet emerged from the second bend behind. Howarth impressed in heat 4 great ride to pass Jensen. Glasgow won't win anything on this showing.
  7. Impressed with this. Decent Wi-Fi & Chelsea v Leicester on big screens outside. The Glasgow mascot could give Chase the Ace a run for his money in the comedy stakes.
  8. Howarth has his racesuit on so I guess he is good to go. Lovely drive up, took less than 90 minutes to get to Brammall Lane, then, Ugh! The two Tiger mascots are having a play brawl. Hope the Glasgow one wins as the Sheffield one decided to scratch his crotch right in front of me earlier.
  9. This may have been covered previously but no Poles? All eliminated or did they not enter?
  10. Caught up on the SGP this morning, great meeting once it got going. Shame gate 3 was such a graveyard. I had thought by now Zmarzlik would be pulling clear at the top with Woffinden out the way but that's not looking the case. Thought the only rider that would trouble the Pole would be Sayfutdinov. But now Madsen is starting to look like a winner. Don't think Woffinden will make the top 8 but no way will he not get a permanent wildcard for 2020.
  11. Excellent, all being well we shall be heading up about 15:00.
  12. What is the weather like in Sheffield today?
  13. - I think that is fairly self explanatory. - 41 - Also in my profile. - Telecoms Guru at large local institute of education. - I was a Cradley fan when I was young, had a season ticket at Wolverhampton & Birmingham in the mid noughties but couldn't bring myself to support Wolves. Have been to Perry Barr a few times this season but didn't during their years in the first & third tiers of British Speedway. If I support a team these days it's Belle Vue. - My Dad took me to Cradley when I was young. - Jan O Pedersen winning the World Title at Ullevi in 1991. - I wasn't there but Eric Gundersen's crash at Odsal in 1989. - Bruce Penhall was my first hero possibly eclipsed by Jan O Pedersen later, just because he was the best to watch. Of the current crop of riders NKI, Danny King & Charles Wright are my favourites. I hope Bartosz Zmarzlik wins the world title this year. Until their recent detriments Simon Stead and very begrudgingly Peter Karlsson. - When I was young, Kenny Carter. Couldn't stand Graham Jones or Neil Collins. Of current riders I don't like Adrian Miedzinski, Chris Holder, Rory Schlein & Nicki Pedersen. - Rugby Union (Sale Sharks) & Football (West Bromwich Albion) are the other two sports I watch. I play Badminton in the local county leagues in the area. - I'm on all except Snapchat. But I'm mostly anonymous & don't post much except on Instagram - sockdiva
  14. The meeting was only really interesting because the scoreline was close, the racing wasn't great. Seen better meetings at Gislaved. If Zmarzlik can't find a way past Klindt....
  15. So with Cook & Vissing banned, what is the likely line up for Glasgow's visit to Owlerton on Sunday?
  16. From a team with whom the same 14 riders contested a 45-45 draw at the Eddie Wright Raceway last Friday. Interesting theory.
  17. Can't make it tonight if this goes ahead, looking outside its absolutely blitzing it down with the wet stuff in Wolverhampton.
  18. From my limited understanding of sportwoefacty when translate doesn't kick in Piraterna v Dackarna is the stream on offer tonight. Not that I'll be able to watch it. If they block the link on the main page for UK viewers if you look at a score of an on going match there is usually a link nestled amongst the adverts that isn't blocked
  19. I would much rather watch Speedway at tracks other than Monmore but it does usually produce entertaining racing. It does need the visitors to have an iota how to ride it otherwise it's just hopeless. I remember seeing a Bradford team of Evitts, Smith, Thorpe, Doyle visit in the late 80s. I was praying for rain by heat 10 to put them out their misery. Peter Karlsson was always a joy to watch.
