  1. Looking at that bunch of poor excuses for top tier teams. Sheffield will romp it, only resistance on the other side of the Peninnes. I might have a lower age than the Panthers average age!
  2. Just YouTubed my way through the completed round 1 meetings. It's good Torun got a win at home, it's no good for the club or the league as a whole to have one team adrift at the foot of the table. Not sure they'd have won but for Zagars fall & exclusion in heat 13, until then Dudek was looking peerless in this company. Reasonable debut for Lambert stuck at #8 although I don't think he'll be savouring future heats paired with Miedzinski. Is this a season to far for Protasiewicz? Time will tell, sure he'll perform better at home. Torun will come unstuck against Wroclaw, Gorzow & Leszno when it matters home & away. Speaking of Leszno wasn't it nice to see them lose at home! Time will tell if they will regret allowing Smektala & Kubera to leave so they could keep Lidsey, I suspect they will. Interesting Pawlicki exclusion from the coming together with Karczmarz although I suspect correct having eventually seen the footage of the action as they went down the back straight - looks like he caught Karczmarz footrest as he passed. From all other camera angles shown it looks like Karczmarz turned into him after being passed. Zmarzlik's form looks frightening for his GP opponents.
  3. I would expect Harris & Riss to be able to ride the track no matter what the conditions, I'd worry about Shanes & Castagne more.
  4. The outside will work later in the meeting, more important to keep the inside grippy. Shanes passes mostly on the inside & Castagne refuses to venture far from it!
  5. You think I have an issue with watching competitive meetings? That is all I wanted.
  6. Just had a quick look at the declared teams.. Glasgow look strong. Eastbourne & Leicester look as good as Brummies. Think Newcastle could pull off a few surprises.
  7. Pretty sure it's down to Government not club decision. Poland are in full lockdown currently, I believe. No idea on infection rates in Germany, Poland, San Marino or Albania.
  8. It's been suggested that Robert Lewandowski may not be able to represent Poland against England in a Football World Cup qualifier on Wednesday as he can't leave Germany, where he plays for Bayern Munich, to enter his home country. So I'm not convinced Wittstock will be riding many fixtures! Speedway authorities don't have the funds to throw at testing football does.
  9. I was a doubter, unimpressed quite frankly with the first 6 signings but always said one very good heat leader added to that 6 could make a decent team, Riss was the best visitor I witnessed in 2019 at Perry Barr. I haven't looked at any other team line-ups as yet so can't comment on how competitive I think this team will be as yet.
  10. Pedersen? As in B*yawn*e? If do Harris will feel like a spring chicken!
  11. Erik Riss was superb when visiting Perry Barr for Redcar a few years ago - the Brummies "Couldn't land a blow". Let's hope Covid restrictions allow.
  12. Being at tapes in 2021 is no more fortunate for Brummies than any other team & I'm sure absolutely every other championship team will field a stronger line-up than Birmingham who have had my season ticket money for 16 months! I'd really love the final rider to make the team competitive but I just can't see it happening. Harris, Morris, Castagne & Shanes signings fine. Basis of a decent team, it's what you put around them. Thomas fine... If you sign two riders above Morris in the averages... Another second string, fine if you plan to have Harris as second heat leader... It could still happen, I just don't see it.
  13. Building a team way below the points limit is absolutely insanity & wreaks of penny pinching.
  14. Well ... 1 never quite managed to gate GP winner, 3 reserves & 2 second strings look good, any possibility of a rider who can win a heat?
  15. Four qualification rounds will take place on May 1st and 8th. The competition will be hosted in Plzeň - Czechia (01.05.), Debrecen - Hungary (01.05.), Pocking - Germany (08.05.) and Rivne Ukraine (08.05.). The SEC Challenge, as the final qualification round, will be held in Krsko (Slovenia) on May 22nd. TOP 5 of TAURON SEC 2020 will automatically participate in next year's competition, this means that Robert Lambert, Grigorij Laguta, Leon Madsen, Mikkel Michelsen and Bartosz Smektała
  16. Not convinced Bydgoszcz are that strong. Tarnow & Gdansk look as good at least. Think Krosno could be massive spoilers.
  17. The same one who was going to single handedly win the league for Poole but flopped about 14 years ago?
  18. There's usually an option on posts to this forum which contain pasted text to "use standard text size" or something like that. Very useful
  19. Didn't look at Polish div 1 results, obviously, but Zengota was a Ekstraliga heat leader before his injury.
  20. Not enough meetings to assess the effects of almost 2 years on the injury list then. Hope Bydgoszcz show him patience.
  21. Oops Is there a Polish league one team building thread, if there is I can't see it.
