  1. I watched the interesting bits again, original live showing not the highlights. Yeah, Madsen was slowing down exiting bend 2. Better view of Janowski fall too, from high over the back straight. Got caught in the very heavy (probably sloppy) dirt at the bottom of the air bag which sucked him in. Still stupid place to ride, Bewley was nowhere. Now watched day 1 too Lebedevs was much more like I expected that showing. Berge was better but Bellego not as good as day 2. Aussies, Doyle especially, below par both days. Was Madsen the only rider to beat Zmarzlik over two days?
  2. Watched day 2 replay now (selected heats) ... still can't think what Janowski was doing in the final, was he trying to do what did Hellström Bängs to him a few heats earlier to Zmarzlik? If so why? Not sure agree with Tatum that Zmarzlik got in his way. Still no idea how Lambert overtook Madsen in the semi, not that it matters. Other than that disappointed with Lebedevs & Australia, expected more, but Bellego surprised me maybe he will hold his own at Leszno. I'll watch day 1 - couldn't attend due to family wedding - at some point.
  3. Harris & Palm Toft don't have eyes in the backs of their heads! They were focused on trying to pass Wright (which they did).
  4. If Bewley was unbeatable every ride in British league, agreed, but he's not... admittedly the only points he dropped tonight (heat 1) were due Worrall's inability to team ride & a track loaded with grip on the inside early on. Winning races breeds confidence, he is getting that here, would he at the gating hellhole of Hallstavik?
  5. You think Elitserin is better than what we have? From what I've watched, it's predictable with very uneven teams & the racing is generally poor. It obviously pays worthwhile as most of the top GP riders returned towards the end of the year... that saidt he use of squads means riders don't always get called upon. Don't think Lejonen used Lambert for the last half of the season until the playoffs.
  6. Think writing was on the wall once Kurtz wasn't riding, not his biggest fan but he can be blisteringly quick at the EoESg. Could Ace's not use a guest? Not sure on rules any more. Gutted for Belle Vue fans & Bewley, hope it's not his last league meeting in the UK but suspect that is likely unless the Polish authorities change their rules. Brennan did Ok, the Ace's engine room misfired. Happy for Panthers fans. Didn't think track was great, didn't produce much racing wise until late.
  7. Strange meeting. Aces in control, generally but back & forth, get complacent, struggle to win the meeting. Not sure where Nicholls NSS liking has come from he's usually poor. Etheridge was poor. At least we still have a contest to watch on Thursday.
  8. Not even heats 1 & 2. Douglas did you proud late on.
  9. Kolodziej was 5th in the Ekstraliga averages late July possibly early August. An alarming slump at the end.
  10. Fairly poor meeting entertainment wise. Wolves 2022. 1. ........ 2. Nicol, 3. Becker, 4. Douglas, 5. ........ 6. ........ 7. ........
  11. Castagna is the main reason Brummies won as many fixtures as they did at home in 2021. If the Brummies do run in 2022, in a well constructed team Castagna would do fine flitting between reserve & 2/3.
  12. The only one who has got a pick who I thought may not is Thomsen, but he's a good inconsistent spoiler so I'm glad he's returning. But the next two potential picks being Kubera & Miskowiak both being Polish and 4 Poles already qualified the only other options was possibly Jack Holder.
  13. WTF was the music they played when Laguta was on top of the rostrum? Didn't sound like the Russian anthem..... I haven't watched any podiums all season so they could have played that music all season.
  14. Looks like it's all over, can't see Zmarzlik making up 9 points on Laguta for 1st. Lindgren making up 9 points on Sayfutdinov for 3rd or Madsen making up 16 points on Woffinden for 6th. Didn't think the racing was bad last night, watched 10 heats before going to the pub and the rest when I got back, but not as good as some Ekstraliga meetings I've watched from Torun this year. Can't understand why the FIM people take over track preparation/grading/watering, just let the guys that do it week in week out for the league meetings look after it, they clearly know it better.
  15. Ah yes, was engrossed in the grand final of autobiography wars on TalkSport, didn't read anything, wasn't reporting as cancelled on BSPA site when I checked before posting but it is now. Not sure I can do next Saturday, as I'm working.
  16. What's weather like in Leicester this morning? Can I pay by card on the gate or is it cash only?
  17. Haha. If J10 is shut I'll get on M5 and trip my way along the Black Country Route, should be empty by the time I hit it.
  18. The weather forecast for Saturday is not good but all being well I will be there for second leg, my first visit to Beaumont Sports Complex. My first "new" British track since NSS opened. What is car parking situation?
  19. With the rolling averages they can't change as much. How Castagna remained at reserve with Shanes & Grobauer in the team is beyond odd.
  20. An Edinburgh fan I was fortunate enough to spend the evening talking to said Riss was likely to give British Speedway a miss next year, doesn't like the tracks. Don't think he's been intentionally lowering his average, has had a poor season for Kings Lynn also. Certainly not the rider who romped to a 15 point maximum for Redcar in 2019.
  21. So that's it... season over. Time for grades. Harris.. B- most entertaining rider at PB, misses the gate too often but always has. Grobauer. F. Anonymous in terms of racing & scores. Morris. C. Inconsistently infuriating. Shanes. E. Can be the fastest rider at PB, after the first lap Performances have deteriorated badly as the season came to an end. Riss. D. Not the heat leader I thought he'd be. Castagna. B+. The only reason Brummies win at home. Thomas. C+. Has got better, can be too tentative at times when track is tricky. Promotion. D. Nobody wants to hear promoters whining. Track Staff. Z. Just awful, dusty, bumpy, unraceable, inconsistent... everything you don't want.
  22. Absolutely terrible performance from the hosts, 3 heat wins all night for the Brummies. Track offered little, one line an inch from the fence. Edinburgh only needed 4 riders, 2 of whom got full maximums. Harris wasn't gating but was involved in the only two heats which can be considered "races" of the night, heat 13 battle for a point with Worrall and heat 15 with Pickering. Thomas and to a lesser extent Morris performed acceptably and if that was the real Grobauer its a shame he didn't show up in May. Hat's off to Ruml & Kemp, barely scored a point between them but at least they were trying different lines in an attempt to pass. Hopefully that immediately forgettable meeting won't be the last at Perry Barr.
